Update on invitations to apply for the Yukon Nominee Program in 2025, released by Yukon on 23 May 2025
Good day ladies and gentlemen, this is IRC news, I am Joy Stephen, a certified Canadian Immigration practitioner, and I bring to you this Territorial News Bulletin from the Territory of Yukon. This recording originates from the Polinsys studios in Cambridge, Ontario.
| The Government of Yukon has begun sending out invitations to apply to the Yukon Nominee Program in 2025.
Invitations are being sent to selected employers who submitted an expression of interest during the intake period.
Selected employers will receive an invitation by email with instructions on how to submit a full application.
The department will also be notifying:
employers who have not been selected to submit a full application at this time but have been added to the random selection pool; and
employers or individuals who submitted an expression of interest but were found ineligible.
During the expression of interest intake, the Government of Yukon received more submissions aligned with the 2025 priorities than the number of available nomination spots. The Government of Yukon is prioritizing applicants who previously received a temporary measure letter of support. Remaining application spots will be randomly selected from other qualifying submissions.
Qualifying submissions include candidates in the following priority areas:
Foreign nationals who have lived and worked in the Yukon for at least one year
Yukon University graduates
Francophone or French-speaking candidates
Temporary measure letter of support recipients
This approach allows the Government of Yukon to prioritize applications from employers whose positions and candidates align with the 2025 priorities, rather than using a first-come, first-served model.
Priority areas for 2025 were identified through ongoing discussions with industry organizations and feedback from the Yukon business community. The Government of Yukon will continue to work with industry organizations to address the Yukon's labour market needs, as well as the needs of employers and foreign nationals who contribute to the Yukon.
