The ASX 200 closes up 57 points at 7309. Well off highs but still happy to shrug off CV19 numbers in Sydney and Melbourne. Banks and big miners leading the charge higher with the Big Bank Basket at 176.57 and BHP up 1.3%. OSH a stand out on hopes that WPL would make an approach and tech stocks under pressure slightly with the All Tech Index down 0.27% and APT off 0.4%.
Ten year yields remain subdued at 1.17% and the AUD around 73c.
European markets expected to open slightly firmer.
