Teachers Supporting Teachers Series 4 Episode 1: Video on or off
Welcome to Series 4 of Teachers Supporting Teachers. In this series I am joined by my dear friend and colleague Dr Michelle Tichy from Rollins College in Florida, USA. We are connecting on hot topics, asking questions that we are pondering plus modelling for you some of the self-care practices we engage with to help us as educators.
In this first episode we talk about the hot topic of 2020 and 2021 - video on or off! This is a controversial topic for many and as teachers we talk through what this means in regard to energy, good pedagogical practices and working with learners. We unpack our thinking from the perspective of being learners as well and unpack some different scenarios. We talk through what we like don’t like, and what practices challenge us.
At the end of this episode Narelle talks through what she is doing to address her not so great sleep patterns at the moment, and Michelle shares with us how she has been taking the time to stop, be grounded. We talk about the place of mantras and how these are helping her to survive right now.
