#4 Kara - On moving abroad with her family of 5. Leaving the American lifestyle behind to experience the island life in Guam
Show Notes

Kara decided to take a leap of faith and move with her family of 5 to Guam, an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. They traded the typical American midwestern lifestyle from Tennessee with the island life for almost two years now and they cannot be happier for this decision.

She shares with us how hard it was for them to make the decision and what impact it had over their life, what's a typical day on the island, what were and maybe still are the struggles of being an expat in a place so remote from the mainland, but also the amazing benefits and come with living on a tourists island, full of life and local festivities.

 Other topics that we discussed:

  • the local culture called the Chamorro culture
  • the similarities and differences between American midwestern habits and culture and the local culture
  • how she overcome the struggles and managed to adapt faster
  • her advice for people moving abroad for the first time
