David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars

February 04, 2022 Lee & Al Season 3 Episode 3

Hi Folks!  We are listening to David Bowie's 1972 album 'The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars'.  A concept album/rock opera/glam rock/proto-punk masterpiece.  This album has a little bit of everything and tells the story of space alien Ziggy Stardust and his quest to save planet Earth from an apocalyptic event only to get side tracked by his ego and fail.  That sounds like a lot for an album whose run time is only 38 minutes but its all in there. We discuss why this album is still relevant, how the ego can be problematic and how a song called 'Rock and Roll Suicide' can be hopeful.  Thanks for listening!
