#012 - The internet has been life-changing and it is a phenomenal technology that enhances our lives in so many ways. I don’t think any of us can imagine life without it now that we have it. But as with everything, there are dangers and we are in ways much more vulnerable to those dangers than before.
If you are a parent of young children or a young person yourself who has never even considered that something as fun as social media could have its dangers, then this podcast will be very illuminating and will help you be more mindful when interacting online.
Detective Sean Taylor of the LVMPD and a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force joins in today to educate and make us aware of things we can do to keep ourselves and our children more cyber-safe.
This information is not designed to cause fear or make you feel vulnerable. Rather the message is to educate you on how to protect yourself and/or your child, how to use and enjoy social media and the benefits of the internet responsibly, and how to be less naïve about some of the stuff out there.
More about Det. Taylor, ICAC, and numbers to call if you need help can be found in the show notes at:
