I'm glad you're here. Let's get into today's episode and boss up together.
Candice DorseyHey, boss lady. Welcome back to another episode of the Hey Boss Ladies podcast. I have the boss lady herself, Nornesha. She is the founder of Pixel Palette Design Studio. How are you doing today, Nori?
Noorinisha BegamI'm doing good, Candice. Thank you for having me today
Candice DorseyYay, I'm so excited. So tell everyone who you are and what you do
Noorinisha BegamYeah, sure. I'm Nooreen Isha Begum, and I'm a strategic brand and web designer, founder of Pixel Palette Design Studio. I help women entrepreneurs and small businesses build authentic brands and conversion-focused websites that reflect their values, feel aligned with their mission and goals, connect with the right audience, and support long-term business growth. I help business owners move away from having a brand presence that feels outdated, disconnected, or no longer aligned with how their business has evolved and grown, or help them build a fresh brand presence that reflects their vision. Yeah.
Candice DorseyI love it. I love it. So tell us, how did you get to boss status and what was that journey like for you?
Noorinisha BegamWell, uh, I have always had this idea in my mind to build something of my own, but I never really planned when or how to start. It stayed more like a long time dream for me. There was always this thought in the background, like, "One day I will do it." When I was in between jobs during that time, I started feeling like maybe this is a good moment to begin. That's how I started my business journey. And from there, it's been completely a new experience for me. Every situation taught me something new. I also really enjoy being a part of helping bring someone's business dream and vision to life. That part gives me a lot of meaning to what I do
Candice DorseyI love it so much when you can just be able to do something that you really enjoy doing because a lot of people out there, they're, like, stuck in something, and they hate doing it, but they it because, of course, they need to make a living. There's this saying If you go to the graveyard, there are so many dreams there because the dream of that person died with them because they wasn't able to fulfill that dream. So it's, it's hard- disheartening to hear but at the same time, that's true, so you might as well take advantage of it and make the most out of it. So I love your journey. So what's one pivot that surprised you the most and taught you something game-changing about yourself?
Noorinisha BegamOne big shift for me was simply starting without waiting for everything to feel perfectly planned and prepared, like that. Once I got into it, I started noticing a different version of myself showing up. What really surprised me was how some qualities within me that I had not really noticed before started coming out naturally in different situations. And I feel like I have been evolving along with my business, so I really enjoy this process of personal development also
Candice DorseyI love that. Yeah, business for yourself, the struggle is real. That's the trust me I've been feeling it these past three years leaving corporate. So yeah, you definitely, you, i- it's something about entrepreneurship that really do bring out something in you, and it brings out something that you didn't even know you had. And I love that you actually recognize that. So that is so amazing. So let's talk about how to build a brand and a website that attracts clients. Can you tell us more about that?
Noorinisha BegamYeah, sure. Um, when building a brand and website, there are a few things that really make a difference. It usually starts with brand clarity. When someone visits your website or your social media, they should be able to quickly understand who you are, what you offer, who it is for, and how you can help them. When that clarity is there, people don't have to guess. They immediately get it, and that is what makes them stay longer and explore further. Then comes connection. This is really important because people don't just connect with information, right? They connect with how something feels, the tone you use, the visuals you choose, the way you communicate your message, and even your values. All of that plays a role in creating a feeling of relevance. And when someone feels that, they naturally engage more. And this connection should also feel consistent across all your touch points, whether it's your website, your social media, or any other interaction. It should feel like one connected experience together. After that, credibility builds naturally. When your messaging, visuals, social proof, and overall brand experience are aligned, it creates a sense of trust. People start feeling like, "Okay, this feels professional. This feels reliable." And that reassurance is very important when someone is deciding whether to work with you or not Then strategy ties everything together. A successful brand and website are not just about looking good. It's about the right messaging, design, and strategy working in alignment. It should make people feel understood, guide visitors clearly, help them understand what to do next, and make it easy for them to take the next step, whether that is exploring your services, filling out a form, booking a call with you, or reaching out to you. So the number one goal is to make it easy for the right clients to understand that your business is the right fit for them, so they can trust you and move forward
Candice DorseyI love it. I love it. So I'm gonna ask you a follow-up question, so don't kick me cause I know this wasn't on the question sheet. But I wanna get your opinion about this because we are, we're now in the age of AI, I want you to state what is the importance of actually having someone, a person, actually doing your website and creating your brand versus, you know, 'cause it's so easy to go onto Claude and create a website. Trust me, I've done it for mostly all of mine, and it has my brand on point. But we still need people like you to make sure our brand is aligned and sound right across the board. Could you let us know the importance of actually having a person help you and assist you with those things versus AI?
Noorinisha BegamYeah, I think still, uh, AI could not beat the human design and human behavior from my perspective. We mostly, uh, we design our business to interact with another humans, right? So I think, uh, a human can understand a human better than AI can. And then, um, also it's not only about the design, it's about the strategy, it's about the things like, uh, how the user interact. These kind of tiny details AI can't understand completely. So I think human, uh, human designer is still important.
Candice DorseyYes. I love your response and I usually don't bring it up every now and again in the conversation in my podcast. But it's something that I definitely have to bring up because it's moving fast and it's, you know, it's coming so fast and you can do so many things. But I also want to state, hey, the importance of having a human being also help you and assist. AI can do great things, but like you said, and I'm so happy you pointed out, that it does not have that human touch. It doesn't know human. It just basically go based off of what you ask it and prompt it and actually, do that. I'm really happy that you stated that.
Noorinisha Begamwhen, um, when we know, uh, first uh, as I have mentioned before, brand clarity is very important to build a brand. It's the foundation before starting anything to design. But there is a difference, right? When we, when, uh, someone when a business owner discussing about this and brainstorming with the expert and with the AI, there is a difference, right?
Candice DorseyYeah. You can. You can. And especially when someone is using it so much. Now, I do. I use it in my newsletters I've trained it so well to actually speak in a tone that's like me that, you know, I even scare my own self. Most cases when I see someone's page or anything like that and I can automatically spot oh, okay, this was AI generated in just certain little things that I can tell. But, you know, when I try to send things out, I wanna make sure that it's human and if somebody call me and be like, "Hey, Candace, I found an error," or anything like that, I'm like, "Oh, great. Then you know I wrote it." I'm like, "Oh, good, you found an error, so you know human wrote it." So, yeah, that's the definitely... Not, not to say that we always, you know, make errors or whatever, but it, it has its place, but we still need that human connection. And I, I love that you pointed that out. So as you know, here at Hey Boss Ladies, we are all about connection and collaboration. What type of collaborations are you looking for right now?
Noorinisha BegamHmm. I would really like to connect and build meaningful relationships with other women business owners. I, I enjoy having conversations with like-minded people, supporting each other, sharing experiences, and growing together. Being business besties is such a powerful thing because having strong connections makes the entrepreneurial journey even more meaningful. Yeah, um, I want good connections
Candice DorseyYeah. I, I agree with you so much. I I think it was yesterday. Yeah, yesterday my little AI content creator I have me- had a message on there that, basically say that we as women business owners, we need to have connection and collaboration over competition because that's the only way we can actually grow. We need each other. Come on now. Like I always say, the guys do it all the time. JV partnerships podcasting. They promote each other. We need to do the same thing and come together, so if we wanna grow and build something. So yeah I agree with you 100%. So how can people connect with you?
