Sticks & Stones

For a long time, Jim Chuchu ( @jimchuchu on the Instagram & Twitter ) has been a staple in the creative field in Kenya. With a larger-than-life résumé, international awards and multiple pseudonyms under which he produces various works, it is easy to understand why many think that he is simply a moniker that various creatives made up to work under.... A modern day urban myth so to speak.

Soft spoken and exceedingly humble, we finally got to sit with the brains behind some of the most boisterous and thought-provoking works of the last two decades in Africa. In this installment of the podcast we peel back the curtain and try and keep pace with the Multidisciplinary Warrior and look at his odyssey through music, film, photography and activism. We also get to understand the motivation behind his work, what exactly it is The Nest Collective (@Thisisthenest) is and how HEVA Fund is addressing business concerns of creatives in East Africa. (We also find out if bread baked by a multidisciplinary warrior tastes better than your regular baker.)

Things to listen out for - New The Nest Collective album - Sweet & Sawa ( available on everywhere you stream your tunes from) the new Nest Collective Film Tapi and of course critically acclaimed Stories of Our Lives.
