1/5/2021 Voting Day In Georgia! My Walk To The Polls!
[00:00:00] JJ: [00:00:00] It's the Jeff Johnson show brought to you by O T E@ofthisearthglobal.com of this earth. global.com clothing connection, OTE
[00:00:21] Greetings, or as we say it right here, again, the South. Hey y'all Hey, you know what time it is? It's time for another edition of the Jeff Johnson show a real, genuine, authentic podcast from me to you. All right, let's get this show started. Hey everybody. It is a very special day on the Jeff Johnson show.
[00:00:41] This particular episode is voting day. This is the January 5th day in Georgia, Atlanta, Georgia. And I decided that I'm going to take a little walk to my polling place, which isn't far away. And I kind of take my thoughts and different things like that. And I just wanted to share them with you on this day.
[00:00:59] I [00:01:00] don't know what's going to come out of this vote yet, but kind of give you an idea of the process I've been going to this particular voting booth or voting polling place for years, gotten to know the people we joke about stuff and laugh about things and some of the, some of the neatest people you ever want to meet.
[00:01:16] And they're serious about voting. And this is a very serious vote. Um, I want to apologize a little bit for some of the creakiness. I think my mic was rubbing up against stuff, but I'm just going to kind of put together a little bit of the things that happened while I was walking up there when I went in to the booth.
[00:01:36] And then when I left and I hope for everyone's sake, regardless of the outcome, we can all come together. All right, folks, here we go. Check it out. Hey everybody. It's your boy, JJ. I hope you are having a wonderful day. Y'all this is the 5th of January. It is actually a pretty big day for me. You know, I'm down here [00:02:00] in, uh, in Atlanta, in the heart of Fulton County and I am walking to the poll today to vote in person.
[00:02:09] I just decided this morning, I just want him to do that. Make it part of my day. And to let you guys know that the process is alive and well here, energy in Atlanta, in Georgia heck across the country has been incredible. Um, it, it's, it's amazing the number of people that have gotten in touch with me and my family and just to say, Hey wishes, do the right things and all that kind of stuff.
[00:02:41] Wow. It's been amazing. This is a very important election, a very important time in our nation's history. There've been so many things that have been going on in terms of how we treat each other. [00:03:00] But more importantly to me is how our elected officials treat us, you know, is very important. That they do it.
[00:03:10] God just ran a red light. It didn't even say just came right on through. We'll get him. But back to the, uh, the story, this election it's, it's such, it's going to be a close call, but again, I go back to the energy and I go back to, we hope that people will do the right things and that's all we can do.
[00:03:35] Because I told somebody the other day, regardless of which way it goes, I'll leave to be real happy about it, or I'll be disappointed about it. But guess what time marches on you still got to get out there and fight and you still got to get out there and be honest part of it because we live here. We do have something to say about it and I'm on my way to do something about it right now.
[00:03:58] Uh, I'll get back with [00:04:00] you guys in a few minutes. As I approached the polling place, but you're listening to JJ on election day in Atlanta, Georgia, the Jeff Johnson show we'll be right back. Help

[00:04:41] JJ: [00:04:41] Welcome back to the show, everybody your boy J J right here with you.
[00:04:45] I continue my walk and my experience on January 5th, voting day in Atlanta, Georgia, and extremely important vote. Thank you for listening. Jimmy rant on a little bit. And thank you for listening [00:05:00] to my show. Here we go. I'm a voter. How are you this morning? Good. All right. Thank you. You have a good day. Hey, at least y'all got good weather.
[00:05:12] I mean right where y'all are right here. That's this is the truth. Maybe I should have took y'all need my man. Oh, that's dope. So the place is laid out wonderfully. Everybody's doing their thing. It happened. People do y'all have in line earlier. Like when you first opened, did you have a line? Oh, I bet a lot of people try to get in before they had to go to work and stuff.
[00:05:40] You get that lunch rush and then the evening rush, but that's good. That's good. It's easy to do. It's easy to vote. No. I know when some that's not. Cause I deal with that stuff too, but I don't know. [00:06:00] I don't know. I have so many different thoughts about it. I think you should be able to vote anywhere.
[00:06:04] Anytime. Anytime you want you to register any time you want, we got all this security and to get it done, look at me causing trouble. I love it.
[00:06:21] Ah, there we are. Okay. So this fifth day, uh, Jean in very 20, 21 out of here. Well, folks, I have voted, I got the picture to show it had to go through a little bit because I had a. Absentee ballot that has not come through the mail yet it's taken awhile. Male has been, you know, a little difficult. I mean, I salute all the folks that are out there delivering the mail and all the packages and stuff, because I tell you [00:07:00] what y'all kept us going, but, uh, you know, by no means of your own, it was slowed down.
[00:07:07] And it's just been a mass mail has been a mess, but we'll get it fixed. It'll come back around. No question about it, but they did a good job up here at this polling place. Very nice. Uh, you had people that were knowledgeable about what they needed to do, what I needed to sign. It was quick and easy. So let's just see what happens later.
[00:07:27] But this is going to be a very interesting day through the news, through the things that we see, but it's a beautiful walk along the Atlanta BeltLine and I'm hitting home. All right, folks, that's just a quickie for me today. I'm getting my act together for 2021, but you know, your boy JJ is having fun.
[00:07:52] Thank you so much for listening to me on. My website, get JJ [00:08:00] now.com or anywhere you download your podcasts, you can get the Jeff Johnson show there. Thanks a lot.
