When I was just starting the show, I did a test run with my new equipment and they were nice enough to let me record them... well, they really didn't consent to do it but let's just keep it our little secret... They will know soon enough! LOL!

• It is a show that I get to introduce you folks I grew up with who influenced me in my life. (I got some "Very Unique" friends y'all so this should be interesting!)

[00:00:21] greetings. Or as we say it right here again, the South. Hey, y'all. Hey, you know what time it is? It's time for another edition of the Jeff Johnson show a real, genuine, authentic podcast where I get to reconnect with the people and places and events of my hometown area. Charlotte, North Carolina. All right, everybody let's get this week.

[00:00:42] Show started off folks. This is going to be a real special show. Um, you know, I just got back with my wife from Michigan, uh, watching my son play baseball. And, you know, I'm also in the process of doing some pre [00:01:00] production on some really neat shows that are coming up in the future. I've got the opportunity to speak to some old Negro league baseball players, and I'm so excited about it.

[00:01:11] And I'll tell you a little bit more about it later, but I'm kind of in the throws of that. And while I was going through some of that audio, I ran up on a piece. Of audio that I did a while back when I was just starting the show and it was me interviewing my wife and my mother, just to see if the equipment would work, you know, I had to make sure everything worked out and it was just kind of interesting.

[00:01:37] And I said, I just want to share this with folks because I'm telling you if it wasn't for these two ladies, It would be, my life would be crazy to be very honest and they've always been there for me and I really appreciate it. So I'm going to share this with you and hopefully you'll like it. Um, and then I'll come back, [00:02:00] do a quick, uh, something to think about and then get ready for next week's show.

[00:02:23] Mom: [00:02:23] Hello son, I'm doing well. How about yourself? 

[00:02:27] JJ: [00:02:27] Doing good. Listen, I'm going to use you as a test subject, uh, for my podcast, um, for. I'm going to just have you, I'm going to put another call on the line, Nancy. I just want to make sure it's this three way works. And I want to ask you if I can interview you maybe.

[00:02:48] Mom: [00:02:48] Oh, When?

[00:02:50]JJ: [00:02:50] Soon. All it is, is a conversation. I hate when people, when, when somebody says interview to somebody, they'd go, Oh, Ooh, look at you. That's the first thing you did. [00:03:00] You were scared. 

[00:03:00] Mom: [00:03:00] Exactly. But, but, but when you're saying when it's tomorrow or Wednesday, or, 

[00:03:05] JJ: [00:03:05] Oh, maybe Thursday, probably Thursday, Thursday.

[00:03:09] Mom: [00:03:09] Yeah. It's not going to be live. Is it? 

[00:03:12] JJ: [00:03:12] Oh, no. I'm going to do it on tape. It's just like me and you having a conversation. I got off. I got all kinds of stuff on you already. You just don't understand 

[00:03:19] Mom: [00:03:19] what are you going, but what are you going to 

[00:03:21] JJ: [00:03:21] ask me? No yet. Remember, you know, D have you, did you get the, I think I sent an email or a text to you today?

[00:03:32] Uh, 

[00:03:32] Mom: [00:03:32] I hadn't, I haven't been on my computer. Uh, 

[00:03:38] JJ: [00:03:38] let me see what I sent to you. I sent to you. 

[00:03:40] Mom: [00:03:40] No, I'm not, not on my, not an email. 

[00:03:44] JJ: [00:03:44] I sent you a text. 

[00:03:47] Mom: [00:03:47] Oh, did you? 

[00:03:47] JJ: [00:03:47] Yeah, I did. 

[00:03:48] Mom: [00:03:48] I haven't looked at my, what is it about? 

[00:03:51] JJ: [00:03:51] We'll get busy. Good Lord. I tell you what, don't worry about it. Look at it. After we do this real quick, then I'm gonna get off the phone, but I will get back in touch with you.

[00:04:00] [00:04:00] And let me just say this, you know, my show is a very eclectic show. I'm just doing it for me. I'm not doing it for anybody else. So what are you, 

[00:04:11] Mom: [00:04:11] but what are you talking about? 

[00:04:14] JJ: [00:04:14] Things that are unique and interesting from my hometown people, places, experiences, um, growing up in certain places. I mean, you know, just to talk to you about how did you grow up in, in this area and what was it like then and what is it like now?

[00:04:36] I mean it's, I mean, but we could talk about, I mean, you're going to be on all different things. I might have a subject or something that I might just want to talk to you about. Who knows? So you need to be okay. 

[00:04:51] Mom: [00:04:51] You said I need to be what? 

[00:04:52] JJ: [00:04:52] Just be yourself. Oh, just have a conversation. Tell a story. Tell me a story.

[00:04:59] Mom: [00:04:59] I don't have [00:05:00] any story. I don't have any memories 

[00:05:01] JJ: [00:05:01] anyway. Oh, you got stories. I know you got stories. You've been telling us all kinds of stuff about Jesus and, uh, how to be good 

[00:05:13] Mom: [00:05:13] anyway. 

[00:05:13] JJ: [00:05:13] Go ahead and do what you gotta do...

[00:05:15] Alright, hold on minute. Let me see. I'm going to add on my wife, Nancy, who is the Apple of my eye.

[00:05:28] Hello, I'm going to, I'm going to merge these calls. And right now I have on the phone, Mary Johnson and Nancy Johnson. I ladies, how are y'all 

[00:05:37] Nancy: [00:05:37] today? I'm well, how are you? Hi Nancy! Hi, Mary. And I'm wonderful. 

[00:05:43] JJ: [00:05:43] So, well folks, these two ladies in my life mean everything to me and they are the ones who have been putting up with me all my life.

[00:05:54] Don't y'all love me. 

[00:05:56] Nancy: [00:05:56] Correct. I love you put up with you as long as your mom. 

[00:06:00] [00:06:00] JJ: [00:06:00] I know both of y'all, you know, there was a pregnant pause there for a second because y'all were on, you didn't know if you're on tape or not. You see, and I can use that against you in a court of law. Both of you though, you both under the bus.

[00:06:17] Nancy: [00:06:17] I wouldn't doubt it. I wouldn't doubt, you know, mother's day is coming up very fast. 

[00:06:21] JJ: [00:06:21] Careful. Little plug that's right. Ladies and gentlemen, mother's day is coming out. Nothing like a mother to remind a son... 

[00:06:31] Nancy: [00:06:31] right. 

[00:06:32] Mom: [00:06:32] Mother;s Day is coming up. 

[00:06:34] JJ: [00:06:34] I love you guys very much. Okay. This works very nicely. And I'm probably going to use this as a teaser for my show.

[00:07:01] Nancy: [00:07:01] You're not always allowed to take pictures. You're also not always allowed to record our voices

[00:07:07] JJ: [00:07:07] well, y'all got to choose one or the other 

[00:07:11] Mom: [00:07:11] well, since we are, 

[00:07:13] JJ: [00:07:13] no, you can't do it right. You can't just choose all of a sudden. Oh, okay. I don't want this one. Oh yeah. I know how y'all do y'all woman's y'all do that stuff well. Okay. Help 

[00:07:25] Nancy: [00:07:25] you get started very soon. 

[00:07:28] JJ: [00:07:28] Very much. So I'm in the throws. 

[00:07:30] Nancy: [00:07:30] Sounds like you've worked out all the kinks.

[00:07:32] JJ: [00:07:32] Yeah. I mean, I'm in the throes right now of having website challenges and it's not fun because that holds up everything. The website is the key. It's the. The place where everybody goes to get information about what I'm doing and some of the things that I'm trying to get together. And I'm just having a little trouble with my homepage, but I'll get it worked out, but right.

[00:07:54] But right now I'm just trying to, I'm collecting content. I'm calling people and getting interviews. [00:08:00] I'm trying to get stuff going. 

[00:08:03] Mom: [00:08:03] All right. All right. Well, enjoy the rest of the
