Stephen: [00:00:00] Okay. Getting back to the whole concept of reunions, here we are coming back together again and we're looking forward to seeing each other again in the summer, in the winter, or whenever it is that we come back. Right. Samir, where are you?
Samira: I am currently in Russia, mother Russia.
Stephen: Wow.
Why
Samira: visiting my grandma.
Oh, where in
Samira: Niger? It's a city close to Moscow. Well close, it's like eight hours away, but it's the closest city to Moscow.
Stephen: You might as well be in London.
Samira: Exactly,
Arjun: Steve. That's the thing with Russia, before Shamir was leaving to Russia, I asked, where is Vos talk? It's like the same country to the other side, and she's like 15 hours flight.
You can like go from Dubai to Seattle.
Stephen: Yes. And is it nice over there? Samira, though,
Samira: I've been enjoying myself so much because I'm a lover of cold weather, and so far it's been between six and nine degrees and I've just, I've been enjoying that and I've been outside. I've been enjoying [00:01:00] the rain even though it's not.
The best thing to do, you know, stand and let it pour over you. But I'm not complaining, so yeah, I just,
Stephen: the brain is a blessing. There we go. But there we have, uh, Lydia saying that she's by the blue skies and the sea and, and she's happy there. And you are happy in cold.
Lydia: You know what, it's really hot here, like, I'm not kidding.
It's like 35 degrees for me. It's really hot. I know, I know you guys have like 44 degrees, but that's okay. It's 49.
Stephen: You'll have fun. You'll have fun. It's great. Aja, where are you?
Arjun: I'm in my own room in Dubai, enjoying the summer. I'm confined to my home, trying to experiment, cooking stuff.
Stephen: Uh, and Hashem I think is here with us.
I so Hashem, uh, friends. Is it something you watch or is it you don't, do you not watch it because you actually have real friends?
Hashim: Well, real friends. That's, that's a big word. You know, you can, any, anybody can call real friends. But you, you got a question. I actually wanted to join the discussion because of, uh, friends.
Exactly. [00:02:00] Every person that I know has a relationship with friends and I have been actively for the past five years, avoiding watching friends at all costs and not getting into the cycle. 'cause first you watch a couple episodes, it's it's habit, there's symptoms to it, Steve, and then you talk to your friends that you watch a couple episodes, and then a couple episodes become a couple seasons.
Then you mention it to your lecturer, your professor, and then it, and then you're gone.
Stephen: That's a podcast.
Hashim: Yeah, that's, yeah. That's a different, that's, that's a different alleyway.
Stephen: I have some questions here. Who is a friend's friend? Friends. Friends from Samira?
Samira: I am indeed.
Stephen: Okay. Which friend does Chandler assign to guard the engagement ring?
He wants to buy from Monica.
Samira: Phoebe?
Stephen: Yes. Points. What is Ross's New Year's resolution?
Arjun: He only had one. Is it that he never get married again?
Stephen: It's that he tries something new every day. He will do one thing that he is never done before. You're failing, Samir. Quite dreadfully. How does Chandler manage to get Janice to retract her [00:03:00] offer on the house next door
Samira: By admitting his love for her?
Yeah.
Stephen: Correctly. Correct. Well done. That's two. That's not bad actually. What possession of Joey's does Emma take a shining to? Uh, Husky, hussy, hussy. The Penguin? Yes. One for arson. Whoa. Whoa. Okay, great. Okay, good. When Tag and Rachel take a late night trip to the office to prove the other wrong about the contracts, where had they been left?
Samira: They had been left on Rachel's desk being,
Stephen: oh, another one for Sam. So next one. Why is Ross excited when the delivery girl forgets Phoebe's vegetarian pizza?
Samira: Because then he has the opportunity to. Call her again so he can ask her out in person.
Stephen: Correct. Wow. Who is the on-call eye doctor while Richard is outta town?
Samira: His son, uh, Richard's son.
Stephen: Uh, what's his, what's his name? Arjun.
Samira: Oh my god. What's his son? His name. It was. Also Dr. Burke. I don't [00:04:00] remember his first
Stephen: name, Timothy Burke, but okay. I'll give you both half a point for that. Which friend gets a tattoo on their hip? Brittle? Yes.
Samira: And Phoebe gets the little dot. That apparently is how her mom sees her.
Stephen: Oh, in that case, that's half a point for extra knowledge. Well done. Bonus point. So it's six to two and a half, first to 10. Joey calls Ross back to ask him something, as he is about to tell Rachel that he loves her. What does he say?
Arjun: Wait, I remember the episode where like Joey punches, uh, Ross and then, I don't know, I forgot that.
Stephen: What does Joey ask for Ross?
Arjun: Is it the bagels? The muffins?
Stephen: It is the muffins. Three and a half to, yes. Well done. All right. What phrase does Joey laugh at in Ross's keynote speech that makes Charlie realize they have nothing in common?
Samira: Homoerectus.
Stephen: Yes, I remember watching that. 7, 7, 3 and a half. What does Phoebe find in Monica's bin on the morning of her and Chandler's wedding
Samira: pregnancy test?[00:05:00]
Stephen: Oh seven, three and a half. Where have the friends just decided to go as Phoebe's Waters Break Hospital, Atlantic City.
Samira: So she missed out on the Vegas trip?
Stephen: Yeah. What does the mystery switch in? Joey and Chandler's apartment occupied by Rachel and Monica at the time of the discovery control,
Samira: the TV and Rachel and Monica's apartment.
Stephen: Correct. Eight. What color is Rachel's bridesmaids dress for? Barry Mindy's wedding.
Samira: Pink. Pink.
Stephen: Yes. Eight four and a half. Woof Arjun could make a late comeback. Uh, here we go. What is Rachel's flight number to Paris?
Samira: Flight number?
Stephen: Yeah.
Samira: Arjun. You should know this.
Arjun: Excuse me. Not always. I remember flood stuff.
Come on.
Samira: Oh my God. This is fun. I want this game.
Arjun: Wait, is it four one? Yes. It's
nice that I wrote notes. No.
Stephen: Oh, five. Five.
Arjun: Five. Oh my God. Five
Stephen: plays eight. [00:06:00] What phrase does Ross use to sign an autograph for a fan at the Palant Palenology Conference?
Arjun: Palenology?
Stephen: Yes. Well, how does he sign it? The autograph
Arjun: is it Go dinosaurs.
Stephen: No,
Samira: it was a play on a word or something.
Stephen: It was eight, five. It was, I dig you.
Which friend does Monica not let drive her sports car?
Samira: Rachel?
Stephen: Yes. That's nine, five. Ooh, we're on the depth. Five and a half. Nine. Five and a half. What is the occupation of Joey's hand? Twin.
Arjun: He's the guy in the casino who's, uh, shuffling the dice or say the deck.
Stephen: What's that called?
Samira: I don't know. I
Arjun: don't know.
Stephen: Okay. So I have to have the correct answer 'cause it's the game point in. So that's half nine and a half. Six. It was theier nine and a half, six.
Samira: I would've never guessed up
Stephen: in the one with Joey's dirty day. Why is Joey's body order so bad on the set while he's filming?
Samira: He had to run from somewhere, right?
And that's how he got into that actor's dressing room because he had the only shower or something.
Stephen: Nope.
Samira: Running.
Stephen: He [00:07:00] went on a three day fishing trip and fell on the top of worms. Nine and a half, six. Which of Joey's sisters comes to Rachel for advice after getting pregnant? Which of Joey's sisters?
Samira: Mary Angel was Chandler's Dina?
Stephen: Yes. It was nine, seven and a half. There's a comeback. Oh my God. This could be the whole episode. Where do Rachel, Phoebe and Chandler find Monica's hidden Christmas presents
Samira: under the sofa? No, that's where they found her cabinet. Was it in the window sill thing?
Stephen: Yes, it was not quite right, but it's half point, which takes you to 10.
10 what? Seven. Samira, you win today's friends challenge.[00:08:00]
Samira: This feels more important than any birthday or anything. Any celebration I've ever had, why friends is important to me, and I was a little ashamed of how bad, let's be honest, my knowledge is of the show, but I still won.
Stephen: Oh, I don't. I still won. I think you're amazing. I think you're amazing. I mean, let's face it.
I mean, ten seven seventeen, that was difficult. This is the trivial pursuit. That was. That was amazing. Well done. I know absolutely nothing about friends. We just did a house party and which I, which is why we have the friends Lego set, which, there we go. Yeah, this is, it's actually
really cute. It
Stephen: is. And they're about to launch the new Lego set as well, uh, which has got two apartments next to each other.
So they'll be launching that I think today during the first,
Arjun: like, say the replica of their entire set. [00:09:00] Right.
Stephen: Uh, yeah, exactly. It's of the two apartments, uh, it's a hundred and forty nine ninety $9.
Samira: I really needed an excuse to get back into Legos, so I think I have one. I just need to justify the price.
Stephen: Yeah, it's, it's, it's, it's, uh, 2048 pieces. Uh, it has seven many figures in it, so it has the same characters again, and it's four inches tall by 10 inches wide by 13 inches. That's the dimensions, and it's available now. And uh, we also have the friends cookbook. Ooh, in the friends cookbook, they have the, guess what they have,
Samira: they have the, it's a bird pipe.
Yeah, I was gonna say, yeah. Rachel's
Arjun: moist maker. That's the, oh my God.
Samira: Mo maker is the Thanksgiving leftover sandwich that Monica makes and Ross loves. And then he gets, oh yeah. And then it's
Arjun: shown in the garbage and then he gets mad out of [00:10:00] it.
Stephen: We, we cooked that and it was beautiful. We ordered a chicken from.
Somewhere on one of these Tali Kami type of things. And then we left it overnight and then we made, and we got nice bread from over at the marina, the Palm Quiel Mall. There's a food court in there, very posh food courts. We bought some very nice posh bread and we put the chicken in and we put everything on top of it with mayonnaise and everything.
Oh, it was beautiful. And so it was, it was the best thing ever.
Arjun: You know, like how Steve actually mentions. Pars bread.
Stephen: Yes. Versus the stuff you get at, you know, at your local supermarket, you know, the really cheap stuff, which is for the preservatives and yogurt. This is, this is so big, isn't it? It's a huge amount.
I'm,
Arjun: I'm very, very jealous.
Lydia: It's really, really good if you're like a coffee drinker or even like. For cereal or whatever.
Samira: Yeah. It's literally big enough because I have a tradition with one of my friends who's a huge friends fan, and every year I get her a new friends mug and I try to get the ones [00:11:00] that are almost replicas of the ones they actually.
Use and the show at Central Park and like you can literally eat out of them, double use.
Stephen: We also have the Christmas, Christmas tree ornaments, which I can't mean able to dig out, but we have Christmas tree ornaments, we have little mugs to stick on our Christmas tree.
Samira: Oh my God. Where did you get that from?
That's so is that a thing?
Stephen: Yeah. I don where got from. I didn't buy them. It wasn't me.
Samira: I'll pick them up because I would love that.
Stephen: Yeah, they, they, they look quite cute on the thing. What else do we have? So we have the t-shirts, we've got the cookbook, we've got the coffee mug, we've got the quiz, we've got the Lego set.
I've played the song and I still don't know anything about friends of the.
Arjun: I watched the entire reunion. I was like, I sat in that one sitting, watched it for like one hour, 43 minutes. It was, it, it was a really amazing, like say you get to see the behind the scenes of the, of their stage, all [00:12:00] the bloopers and all those things.
For some of them, they actually do improvs of the script and all those things.
Stephen: They did. They did. They did. They had readings. I, I remember seeing one of the readings, which they did, and they did a quiz where they,
Arjun: I don't know, I think this is the second half where like all the iconic French costumes, people come on a ramp and then, uh, show that.
And apparently I think the Justin Bieber comes up as the Army de law just to say show. And then, uh, towards the end, Matt Lelong. Actually comes in the clo in the costume where like he wears all Chandler's clothes.
Stephen: Was that good?
Arjun: It is, uh, because the same guy doing it again before the slim and nice Joey was doing.
Now it's like the buffed up Joey doing. There's a bit comparison. Is there,
Stephen: uh, Lydia tell us, what's your friend's fascination? Anything? Are you excited by what you've heard so far?
Lydia: I've never watched friends, so please don't come at me because it's, you know, it's 10 seasons. I don't have the [00:13:00] patience. And I haven't met a show except Brooklyn nine nine that I wasn't bored and stopped watching.
So it's like 10 seasons, and I'm like, should I watch it? Should I watch it? Or not? I don't know. I mean, if it's worth it, I'll watch it because of Jennifer Aniston, because I really like her as an actress.
Arjun: People who listen to this real French fan, they will literally find you on Instagram and they'll be like, it's okay.
Watch it.
Stephen: I think we should find a French script and try to read it. Yes.
Lydia: Can I be Rachel?
Stephen: Let's see. Friends, transcripts. Here we go. All right, let's try. The metaphorical tunnel. Right. So let's see, we've got Phoebe. Who's gonna be Phoebe? Samir. Sam Samir. Okay. You Samir. Who's Joey? Me. All right. Hashem is Joey.
Rachel is here. So that was, uh, Lydia. I've got Ross. That can be you. Okay. I'll be Ross. Uh, Chand. Me very much. Me, Janice. Who is Phoebe? Sam
Arjun: Samir.
Stephen: So Samir, you have to be Janice as [00:14:00] well. I don't know why
Arjun: you need to laugh. Like Janice.
Stephen: I'll be Janice. Monica, who's gonna be Monica? I think our June would be a good Monica.
Okay. Elia, you play Monica. I will be Janice and Ross, uh, Jun, you can be, since you've only got one line in this or a couple of lines, you can be all the other characters as well, like host.
Arjun: Got it.
Welcome everybody. Welcome to Amazing Discoveries. Ooh, Ooh. It's on again.
Hashim: You guys. Can we please not watch this? All right,
Arjun: folks. Has this ever happened to you? You go to the refrigerator and get a nice glass of milk. And these Don Carins are so Flynn and Flynn hard to open.
Hashim: Oh, you said it Mike. There's got to be a better way.
Arjun: And there is Kevin,
Hashim: can we please turn this off?
Arjun: No [00:15:00] way, Kevin, there is a revolutionary new product that guarantees that you will never have to open mold cards again. Meat. The Milk Master 2000.
Stephen: Are you intrigued?
Arjun: Yeah. Fling and flinging Ratan. Keep in mind he has never used this product before. You are gonna see how easy is this to do?
Go ahead. This works with any milk car.
Hashim: Wow. It is easy. Now. I could have milk every day.
Arjun: Well, it's official. There is no good movies. Well, let's go to a bad war and make out.
Stephen: Oh my God. Oh, no, no. We should have stopped. Okay, let's cancel.
Oh, on that note, I appreciate you all. Does anyone else want to give any reunion friends comments?
Lydia: Thank you all for joining. Um, it was lovely. It
Stephen: wasn't. It was, that's word I would not use to this, but it was nice to see you all. I really [00:16:00] appreciated it. Thank you very much. And to anyone who happens to be listening, why and sub subscribe for more lunacy, which will probably come sooner than you might expect, especially with the quality of this one.
All right everyone. Thank you all very much and I will see you all a anon.
