18: 5 Powerful Actions To Ditch Imposter Syndrome

Now I know that you are struggling with imposter syndrome or you have in the past because, well, we all do...including Michelle Obama, Robbie Williams and Maya Angelou! If you've ever struggled with perfectionism, lack of confidence, feeling like a fraud, self-doubt or negative self-talk then you've experienced imposter syndrome. The good news is that I can help you manage and overcome imposter syndrome with five powerful action steps you can start taking straight away today. A lot of people have written and spoken about imposter syndrome because it is so prevalent! The Harvard Business Review defines imposter syndrome as "a collection of feelings of inadequacy that persist despite evident success. Imposters suffer from chronic self-doubt and a sense of intellectual fraudulence that override any feelings of success or external proof of their competence."

Here's a quick snap-shot of the five action steps I share with you in this episode:

  • If you're feeling it you're learning and growing - it's not necessarily all bad!
  • Connect with your heart-led purpose - it ALWAYS trumps self-doubt and negative self-talk!
  • Check-in with what is really true - are these feelings true or are they old outdated beliefs that no longer serve you?
  • Take action - move out of the stuck, paralysed, holding yourself back place.
  • Acknowledge your success and celebrate it - recognise how brilliant you are!
