Mary's very personal role in Jesus' birth was appointed to her just a breath or two back, and Gabriel continued to talk. The question of how this could be had to push at least a little bit against this new information being shared from God's obedient messenger as she went from trying to process logically to listening faithfully; her whirling thoughts running amuck as the angel's words kept coming. Listening hard with each fresh word and trying just as hard to damper all of the questions from her heart, she heard more about the Jesus she was to give birth to in the months ahead.
