Speaker 1:

Welcome to Metropolitan Weddings. I'm Meg, I'm Dawn, and we are here to educate couples with information from wedding professionals in the industry.

Speaker 2:

Our goal is to make the wedding planning process as seamless as possible by providing you with insight from industry professionals.

Speaker 1:

Okay, couples, let's get this party started and we'll welcome our couples to listening to the Metropolitan Weddings podcast today. We are here with our friend in the industry, All Things Rental. Do you want to introduce yourself and tell us about your business?

Speaker 3:

Yes, I am Amanda and I own Eventful Rental. We're located here in Springfield and we rent just about everything you could need for your wedding or events. We do everything from tents, tables, chairs, linens, dishes, glassware, drapery, decor, centerpieces, lighting. We have inflatables games, you name it. We just about have it.

Speaker 1:

I was going to say she could probably do that for about another 10 minutes.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think of anybody that we interviewed that there's never been a more like understated understanding of what she actually has.

Speaker 3:

It's a very overwhelming amount of things that I have in my warehouse, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Do you ever have moments where you're just like enough?

Speaker 3:

Yes, sometimes, but then I lose my sanity again and then I'm like oh, but let's get this in. My favorite thing is when the girls come from the back and go look what we found. I'm like, oh my gosh, I didn't even know we had that. So that's always fun.

Speaker 1:

That is funny, oh my gosh. So, amanda, did you guys buy a rental company and have like a like an inventory already, or have you just? Are you collectors, what? How did you become?

Speaker 3:

A, both, all, all of the above. We, you know, starting off in the whole rental world. We've been at this for over 10 years now and it started off as just some basic tables and chairs and a punch fountain and an arch, and we decided to start expanding and it was literally just calling people finding out what they needed, um, going out and buying stuff. We have taken over other stores that have either gone out of business or they decided they were ready to be done. Um, taking over their inventory.

Speaker 3:

Um, we are every year we're buying new stuff to bring in to keep up with trends and uh, and all the the new things that are coming out. Um, and then sometimes it's yes, absolutely, I've done thrifting. I have been at a garage sale up at Lake of the Ozarks and found beautiful candlesticks that I just had to have and I've rented them out. So it comes from everywhere and everything. You never know where it came from. Or sometimes you never know where you're going to be and you see something that you just fall in love with and other people do too and it's nice to have on hand.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean it is. You never know how a couple's creativity is going to come together and the different ways that they utilize all of the different options you have. So you know you can never have enough.

Speaker 3:

No, sometimes you can't and sometimes you can, and then you're like, oh my Lord, how did I end up with you know 500 plates, or or where did the 350 chargers come from? And yeah, that's always fun too, but we love having enough on hand for people to be able to use and having a space where people can come into the showroom and actually, you know, bring in their own things and then take our stuff off the wall and play with it. We have a whole play area where you can lay out linens and grab dishes and centerpieces and really see your vision come to life. I think I'm a visual person it seems like a lot of people are and being able to put that all together in front of you, take pictures you know, text it to your bridesmaids or you know committee members and see what they think about things, it comes in handy to have that space to play in and just a variety of things to pull from and really make your dream come to life. We love that.

Speaker 2:

And you do it so well too.

Speaker 3:

We try, we try really hard, you guys do.

Speaker 2:

Your service is amazing.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, thank you. Um, I what. What I really love about the whole rental process is number one, you know, curating and have all these different things to look at. But number two is it's actually a way to save money. I look on I'm all the time on Facebook Marketplace, you know looking just to see what's out there, what different people are doing, and it breaks my heart sometimes to see people that are selling stuff from their wedding and I'm like, oh my gosh, I have that and I rent it for less than what they bought it for. And um, and I, just I, we, you know we've had the time to get stuff together and some things make sense to to go and buy. If you love the thrift and you're looking for those very special items that mean a lot to you that you're going to use in your house one day, that makes sense. But you don't need 50 candlesticks hanging around after the wedding you don't need gosh, you don't need linens.

Speaker 3:

Nobody wants to deal with linens after a wedding is done. It's so much cheaper to rent when it comes down to it, and sometimes I wish I could just reach out and educate people about how much money and time you can save by just coming in and renting it. You don't have to buy everything. Renting makes sense. So that's what I would love to be able to educate and just help people process that whole. I can save them money. I can save them so much money.

Speaker 2:

And they only need it for one day Exactly. You know, so going and trying to find things online and all that and all that, I mean the amount of time that you put into trying to find it, ordering it in, unboxing it, putting it together, hauling it, hauling it home, trying to figure out where in the heck you're going to put it when you haul it home, until you sell it. Listing it online. Going and meeting oh my gosh meeting people't know.

Speaker 2:

And then yeah, and then you get such a small amount for what you paid for it, because, yeah, it's insane it is.

Speaker 3:

I know I don't think people realize how much their time is worth. Um, I take a linen, for example. This is the biggest one that I've seen, because I have had people show up in my showroom a week before their wedding because the linens that they ordered are not coming in on time. Or they came in on time that they're dirty or they can't. They came in on time but they're wrinkled as heck and they cannot get the wrinkles out. And so at that point it's it's like you've spent so much of your time and your energy and the money to try to save what you think you're saving, but you're really not.

Speaker 3:

I can give you a great example. You can buy a cheap linen online. Let's say, 120 inch round linen for $10. So you buy it, it ships in, it comes folded up in a very small package and when you open it up it looks like a checkerboard because it has to be ironed. It's going to take you at least two to three hours to iron that tablecloth, that tablecloth. Let's say even minimum wage $12.30 an hour that's what minimum wage is now. You're going to spend at least $24 ironing that linen. That's what your time is at least worth, and you've already spent that. So you spent $10 on the linen and you spent $24 ironing the linen. You've already way surpassed any rental price that you are going to rent it for. And when you rent it's ironed and it's pressed and it's a great quality and it's ready to go on your table and when you're done you shake it off and you shove it in a bag and you bring it back to me If you buy it and you're at home and you've taken a couple of hours now to iron the tablecloth and then you've used it and now you're going to try to sell it.

Speaker 3:

But you've got to wash it first, because you can't sell a dirty linen and you can only wash one or two, maybe three linens at a time in a home washer. So now you spent hours washing, you know, folding these up and then getting online and selling them. Yeah, it is. It's a no brainer to rent and I wish I could tell people just how much time and your time is worth a lot and people just don't see it and don't give your linen to grandma. She loves you. She's going to tell you that that. Oh yeah, honey, I'll, I'll iron those table cloths for you, but no, don't make grandma iron 20 of your table cloths. She, she, loves you, but she does.

Speaker 2:

Don't do that to her don't make her your employee for your wedding.

Speaker 3:

Make her your special guest at your wedding no, Nope, Nobody wants to do that, and so and it's the same thing with dishes and things like that too there's some really nice plastic wear out there, and sometimes it makes sense If you just you don't have, you know, the people to help clean up and you just sometimes you just have to, you know, get that plastic wear and then you throw it away and you're done.

Speaker 3:

But plastic wear, then you throw it away and you're done. But plastic wear, believe it or not, it can actually be equal to the rental on the china that we rent and you're giving up that whole different look and the feel of the real china the serve wear, the flat wear that doesn't bend and break when you're trying to fall into the chicken that you're serving, the flatware that doesn't bend and break when you're trying to fall into the chicken that you're serving. I mean, there's all kinds of reasons why to you know to do the rentals and return them and be done with them, and then you don't have to worry about it anymore. You can just look back at all the beautiful pictures and be happy.

Speaker 2:

And can we talk about being green? The amount of plastic that gets thrown away at weddings is nauseating.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's like, yeah, it's really bad. And you know, my daughter got married and she got stuff from you too and I mean that was like a big deal to her. She's like I do not want my wedding being like the dump of plastic. Yeah, so she wanted to make sure that she rented everything and that she had real silverware, real plates, because she's she's pretty conscious about that stuff and a lot of this new generation is. I feel like it's kind of some of the moms and stuff, those of us that were in the like seventies and eighties, that we weren't raised with that awareness of what we're doing, and that are like pushing our kids like, yeah, get the plastic, cause, you know they think it's cheaper but in the end it's not. And then what they put in they did if they came out and looked at the dumpster of how much stuff from that wedding just went into the landfill, it's pretty shocking.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, it is bags and bags and yeah, and it just sits there. And yeah, yeah, definitely we're we're the ultimate sits there. And yeah, yeah, definitely we're the ultimate green company. I mean, we things are used and taken care of and washed and put away and then they're used for the next person. It is a we are a constant recycling system here.

Speaker 2:

Which is beautiful. Yeah, and so much more friendly to this planet, which we need people to be really thoughtful about that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, all of that is true, just knowing that you source from places like thrift stores or secondhand and things like that. It's valuable to know that, as someone that cares about you know, making sure that we're not overproducing or doing all of those things. So, yeah, yeah, I mean it's.

Speaker 3:

It's really nice to know yeah, it is um, I I love like we have. I can't even tell you how many brass candlesticks we have and I I can remember growing up with brass candlesticks in my house being 30, 40 years ago, and some of those I know are older than that, and so it really it's kind of funny that you look at it, you're like I. There are so many stories that go with these candlesticks. There's no telling. You know what they've seen and and it does feel good to have them on the shelf that you're, you're reusing this stuff. It it's very nostalgic, it's very um, you feel good having it, it's beautiful, it's classic, it's timeless and, um, it's nice that we're still using it and it's it's seeing more and more beautiful events and being a part of somebody's story every day sorry.

Speaker 1:

Sorry, amanda, no, you're fine.

Speaker 2:

We had a chihuahua howling in the background. Literally.

Speaker 1:

Awesome.

Speaker 3:

She a real howler. I want a chihuahua.

Speaker 2:

Come, get her, come on over.

Speaker 1:

As a matter of fact, we deliver. Oh my goodness, She'll be there by what time?

Speaker 2:

is this podcast over? Are we recycling pets?

Speaker 1:

She said she wants her.

Speaker 2:

I will bring her over to you.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, that was a foster fail, don't tell my husband, because that will be his next thing. We'll be renting out puppies and dogs.

Speaker 1:

Can you imagine I bet llamas, you could?

Speaker 2:

do llamas for sure.

Speaker 3:

Oh, we could, but there are some things that maybe we need to say no to.

Speaker 1:

That's fair, oh my gosh. Okay, so we've talked a lot about like tabletop you know what I mean like so the linens and the glassware flatware chargers, plates, and how many styles do you think you have of of those things if how many styles of? Plates or chargers do you have?

Speaker 3:

so recently we actually went through a bunch of our chargers and and out some, you know, due to not having enough or not being able to get any more. I think, if I remember correctly, we had close to 40 different charger styles. Wow, yeah, it's crazy.

Speaker 1:

Up to about how many guests.

Speaker 3:

Well, it depends. Some chargers I have over 600 of. Other chargers I have close around 300. And then some chargers I only have like 24 or 48 of. So it's better for head tables or small dinner parties, things like that. So it just depends.

Speaker 3:

But yeah, between that and plates, I mean we must have probably about 20 different plate styles to choose from. Glassware I've got everything from plain glass to colored goblets to gold-rimmed goblets and wine glasses and champagne flutes. Goblets and wine glasses and champagne flutes. I couldn't even tell you. I mean we have so many items and so much of things that we can handle a small dinner party all the way up to a thousand plate dinner. So it takes up a lot of space. We are running out of room.

Speaker 3:

And flatware I mean we've got about 10 or 12 different styles of flatware to choose from. We really try to cover the whole gamut of all the looks that you can think of Natural, organic, all the way to modern and clean, everything in between. Traditional, we have different colors of flatware, from black to copper to gold to silver, and we've got some new stuff that we're looking at bringing in pearl handled flatware. And there's some new plates that we're getting in and there's some new plates that we're getting in. We're all the time looking for new things because the trends never stop and we don't want to stop providing that service to our customers.

Speaker 1:

Wow, I didn't even know you had all that flatware.

Speaker 3:

Oh my goodness, it's ridiculous.

Speaker 1:

Okay, how many colors of linens? Oh my goodness, have you seen her wall? I just wanted to know, is it like? How many colors of linens? Oh my goodness, have you seen her wall? I just wanted to know how many is it? Is it 50?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, oh, over that. Just in polyester alone, there are 76 colors that we have readily available. Then you go into all of our taffetas, our satins, our sequins, the crushed shimmers. Just on hand we probably have close to 200 different colors to choose from. And then we also, being a company, we work on a national level and so we are able to bring in styles from national companies that you know prints and specialty linens, things like that so we can either order it in or sub-rent it in. I can't even tell you how many at that point. It's unlimited, it's unlimitless at some point of everything that's available. And that's the benefit of working with a rental store. Also, we've established all those contacts. We belong to a national organization, so if I am stumped by something, I can reach out to stores across the country and somebody's either dealt with it or made it or gotten it from somewhere, and then that helps us to get in items and things for customers also here okay, so now let's talk about some things that aren't just like.

Speaker 1:

Well, I know you have chairs too. How many?

Speaker 3:

styles of chairs do you have? Just real quick um, probably over between barstools and chairs, we probably have around 30 or so.

Speaker 1:

Oh my gosh okay, so that's just like the tables. But then you guys have like a ton of other things, like you have arches and backdrops and you can hang from the ceiling and you have a porta potty.

Speaker 2:

And dawn wants to say the white, the trees, oh yeah, the light up, yeah, and benches and furniture and dance floors and tents.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, the dance floor is awesome.

Speaker 2:

It makes a huge difference at weddings, I think yeah, that.

Speaker 3:

so yeah, and dance floor this year it is very big, black and white. Everybody wants a black and white, checkered dance floor and, yes, we have all of that. We can do it indoors and outdoors. We have tents, and I joke with people that literally, if you throw me in the middle of the field, I can put together an entire celebration. We won't be missing much, maybe a cake, but yeah, it's so.

Speaker 3:

We, the new thing that we just brought in this year we now have larger clear top tents, so we have frame tents with the clear top that. They're just beautiful, you can't miss it. And then we've got all the lighting to go with it. We also, yeah, our LED trees that we. Those were new last year and they're at Christmas time they really started going out.

Speaker 3:

I think people have realized that we've got these trees now. They are about eight feet tall and they look like a kind of a hybrid cherry tree, but they light up and they do every color you can think of in the rainbow. They do a warm white, a cool white, a pink, a green, blue, red, purple, teal and it is so much fun. It can do multicolors. So those have been a lot of fun to see set up and used at different events. They're big, they're heavy, so it is something that if you rent, we do have to set it up, but yeah, they really just add an amazing level to an event. They're really cool. And then, yes, we have lounge furniture in several different styles. We're actually going to be bringing in some new stuff this year on that end. Some more bench and seating capabilities. Yeah, I mean, we can do it almost all. I can't feed you real food.

Speaker 1:

She's not taking your picture she didn't say, they don't have fake food. Do you have fake food there?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, and actually we just had a lady who came to stay. We have some display stuff where Mindy, who works in our office, she's amazing and very creative. She actually made these faux cakes and cupcakes and I can't tell you how many people come in and go. Is that real? And I actually had a lady who came in today and she was looking. She's like, do you rent these out? And you're like sure we rent them. If it's on the show, you rent these out. And you're like sure we rent. If it's on the show, we rent it out. And um, yeah, she rented our cake and some several cupcakes to do, for I'm not even sure what she was doing, but that there it is, she. So, yes, we have fake food that we rent out also.

Speaker 1:

How funny that's all right. Well, back on track. So we were taught let's talk about um like arbor.

Speaker 3:

Like you have arbors and backdrop type stuff yes, we, yeah, so yeah, we have arches, um, and those are used everywhere, from, you know, the wedding ceremony to the entrance, to a tent, um to prom, and so we have those and you can also drape those. And we have drapery in all kinds of colors. There's no reason to go out and buy bolts and bolts of fabric when you can come in and rent what you need, and that's another money saver also. And then we do backdrops. We have pipe and drape. We have draped whole ballrooms before. I've draped church gyms to make it seem less jimmy for weddings. So, yeah, and you can create just an amazing amount of just a change in the frame of the couple being able to put something special behind the cake. And we do custom backdrops. And then we also have the boxwood greenery walls that are very popular. We also have shelves that you can add to that for champagne glasses and dessert little serving ware. So all of that is things that we can do also. And people sometimes come in and they know exactly what they want and we can put it together for them and send them out the door and they're great. And then other times people will come in and they'll say, well, I don't know exactly what to do, but here's a picture that I love, and then we can take a look at it and go, okay, we can do this, this is how you're going to do it and this is the look that we're going to put together for you, and people are like great, and we go out and we set it up and um, and then they're able to use it and it's. It is a um.

Speaker 3:

When we're doing this type of work, I'm very aware that what we do is going to be in pictures. It's going to be part of the memories that people are making, and so I'm hyper aware of what we do and how we do it, so that I make sure that it's not something that somebody's going to look at later in a picture and go what in the world? What happened? I want somebody to look at that and think, oh, my God, that was so beautiful, I'm so glad that we did this. And you know look how great you look standing in front of it or whatever it is that we take what we do very seriously.

Speaker 3:

We realize for us it's another day of work, but for somebody else it's their memory of a lifetime, and we are very aware of that when we're working with our clients and how we set things up and how we run our business. So we love our clients. We want to take care of them. We want them to be able to run our business. So we love our clients, we want to take care of them. We want them to be able to use our stuff and be able to look at it back, you know, 20 years later, and go man, that was great, that's awesome.

Speaker 1:

Yay, I do like how creative you guys get with backdrops and with the draping and all the different things. It's not usually just well, it can be, be just hanging, but you guys also have like a lot of different treatments that you can do to it that give it like a flair yeah, and that is really fun because that's where we get to kind of use those more creative skills to um to figure out how to make somebody's vision come to life.

Speaker 3:

And we don't just have the drapes and the pipes, you know, we have the lighting, we have the specialty lighting, we have props and um, the, the seating and and everything else. Our newest thing we have is a big, gigantic throne chair, which I just love, um, it is so fun just to look at and sit in. I can't wait for people to start renting the sucker out.

Speaker 2:

I saw you guys just got that. I saw that in a Facebook post that was.

Speaker 3:

That was a purchase down in New Orleans at one of our shows that we go to every year for buying things, and we actually loaded up a trailer and had it wrapped up in plastic sitting in the back of the trailer heading down the highway from New Orleans. Oh my gosh, that's awesome. I yeah, I really wanted somebody to sit there and get a picture of it on the highway, but that's you know.

Speaker 3:

Thank, you first, safety first but um, but yeah, it's in our showroom now and um, um it. It is so fun. Uh, so it's it's getting to use all those different things together and really creating a like a vignette or um. I love being able to take an event and as soon as somebody walks through the door, you know what you're in for. We've done some great entrance into some of the fundraising and galas that we do, where it sets the tone for the rest of the event and whether it's a wedding or, you know, a gala or a party, even the entrance, you know, using an arch, using the drapery, you're setting your tone for what your guests are going to be experiencing and you can do it from the very beginning, as soon as they walk through the door, and I love that aspect of it.

Speaker 1:

That's awesome Experience. I like that. Okay, what else should we do? A deep dive into that? You guys rent, oh gosh.

Speaker 3:

Keeping us on task and those are great at parties and weddings just to keep people entertained during that reception time, when maybe they don't want to dance or you're waiting during cocktail hour for pictures being made. So we rent things like that out. We have bouncers we have about 20-something bouncers and inflatable games and I've actually had people use them at weddings. Something bouncers and get an inflatable games and I've actually had people use them at weddings. Um, there are a lot of fun. Keep the kids entertained. Uh, make for some great photo shoots.

Speaker 1:

Um, and I just want to know how many listeners are with me when you said you rent bouncers and we're thinking about like large guys that stood at the edge of the with like a radio keeping out the riffraff you know.

Speaker 3:

So that's not on our website, but you know that can be arranged if we need to go up road.

Speaker 1:

So no, we don't inflatable houses, maybe the bouncers, which those are really really popular and common at a wedding to keep the kids sort of entertained and out of.

Speaker 3:

It's really good, especially for those outdoor weddings where maybe you're on the family farm or you're at a place where they've got space for the kids to kind of run. Yeah, and inflatable is a great place or a great way to keep them entertained and help them run out some energy. And we have kids tables and chairs too, and they're so cute. We run a special on them for birthday parties and they're not very expensive at all, like 25 for a table and 10 chairs and um, the linens to go on it and they're just the right size for the littler kids.

Speaker 3:

They're so fun to look at and play with.

Speaker 2:

They're awesome, yeah that's really inexpensive I almost feel like we could do multiple segments with them oh for sure like outdoor weddings here's what we can do, you know church weddings. Here's what we can do like yeah all these different things.

Speaker 3:

yeah, yeah. And then we won't even go into the whole. When you rent a tent, what to expect?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's a tough podcast.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, All that fun stuff. She's so busy.

Speaker 1:

Adam, it was hard enough to get her to this one. I know I got to cram it all in. She's busy. She ain't got time for me.

Speaker 2:

I will always make time for y'all, thank you.

Speaker 1:

What about porta potties? Because you have the fancy ones, oh yeah absolutely.

Speaker 3:

We actually have two now. Um, we have a larger luxury restroom trailer rental and then we have a smaller one. Um, this is the way to pamper your guests. They are amazing. They're decorated beautifully, they are heated or air conditioned, they have flush toilets, running water. Our smaller unit actually has a radio system in it so you can pipe in music while people are doing their thing. There's no other way to do it.

Speaker 3:

Then, a lot of times, when people are having their weddings out or events out on land, the one thing they seem to forget is the restroom trailer. Because you know grandma's house is there, or somebody's going to let us use their restroom trailer because you know grandma's house is there, or, oh, somebody's gonna let us use their restroom. Well, when you've got 200 people on site and usually if you're out in the on a farm, you're on septic you can't let 200 people in your house to use the restroom. You're gonna overwhelm your septic system. You are. You don't want people just tracing through your house because, no matter how much you love them, some people just can't be trusted.

Speaker 2:

Um, so I they can't be trusted to lift the lid, quite honestly well, yeah, that's sometimes that's your work, but yeah, it's.

Speaker 3:

Having a restroom trailer there on site is um. It's not like the the concert style basic port-a-potty. This is a luxury um trailer that I I have. I've been to our galas before and actually caught people hanging out in the restroom trailer because they were air conditioned and it was cooler in there.

Speaker 2:

Okay funny story to add to that uh, people, when you we had you bring a restroom trailer out to our house because we were having a dinner the night before sierra's wedding for all the out-of-town guests and it was still oh, it was the last day of june last year and there were people who were going into the restroom trailer and hanging out because it was so hot outside.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, that's so funny. Yeah, it's like a little lounge area almost, and yes, it feels great in there. So yeah, that does not surprise me.

Speaker 2:

It's really pretty and nice. Oh, and something else we didn't mention that you have, which saved the day for us you have those fans, so like we had that outdoor event and like once, everyone sat down at the tables. We had the fans and those were amazing and actually everyone was like once we, they sat at the tables. They're like, oh, it's really not that hot now at all because we had fans all the way around yeah, so you can get those from them too.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, that's awesome yeah, so you can get those from them too. Or heaters, yeah, or heaters yes. We have large heaters that can heat up to 5,000 square feet of tent space or indoor space, wherever yeah. And the fans we have misting fans. We have fans that actually mount in the tent and you can aim them wherever you need to.

Speaker 3:

And we have a really cool thing called a power breather. It's a large misting fan that has an oscillating fan on it and it literally atomizes the water that comes out, and so it can lower the temperature in that general vicinity by well. It depends on how bad it is outside, but it can lower the temperature between 10 and 15 degrees and it really does make a difference. And you can stand in front of that power breather and not feel wet, because it makes the molecules of water so small it doesn't condense. It's pretty amazing. That was a military-grade thing that they adapted for events and we jumped on it. So you know, I'm glad the fans worked for you. That was a military great thing that they adapted for events and we jumped on it. I'm glad the fans worked for you, that's awesome.

Speaker 2:

It made all the difference, because 80 people could not come in my house Well, not to use the restroom and not to eat dinner, so we all had to bear it together, but the fans made a huge difference.

Speaker 3:

We were grateful. That's what we try to be a place where people can come and get just about everything that you need. It's hard when you are trying to have 10 different vendors come in and the logistics of people loading and unloading and getting in and getting out. If you can narrow it down to a smaller number of people, it makes life easier, and that's what we try to do. We try to be that one-stop shop where everybody can come in and just go. Okay, I've got about everything I need, so here we go.

Speaker 1:

You do a lot, so what it sounds like is I need to try and schedule another, oh.

Speaker 2:

I have one more thing that we didn't even mention that you do.

Speaker 1:

You do silly oh.

Speaker 2:

God.

Speaker 1:

I did?

Speaker 2:

Did you touch on silly?

Speaker 1:

draping we didn't really talk about it, okay. We talked a little bit All right you got three minutes to tell me everything you do. I'm kidding.

Speaker 2:

I just thought yeah, Cause she drapes ceilings at the venue.

Speaker 1:

She did talk about turning gyms into.

Speaker 2:

Okay, perfect. So I'll back right on out right now, because apparently maybe I was with a howling dog, I don't know, but yeah, so I somewhere mentioned. Yeah, I missed that, I don't know Anyway yes you do such a nice job at that.

Speaker 3:

Thank you. My favorite drape that we just did and we don't do, just the regular like attacks the ceiling, pull it back, so I don't really do that. I love to do that, but the latest event that we did was with a local chamber here in town and we did a northern light theme with their big event, and so we actually created drapes. That undulated is the best way I can describe it. They they were curved and they went up and down and they curved in and out and when we got it all set up on the ceiling and got lights on it, it literally looked like the Aurora Borealis. It was. It was beautiful. It was one of those moments where a client brought in their idea and we said, oh my gosh, okay, I think we can do this, this is my idea and we made it happen and it came out exactly how everybody thought it would and wanted it to that's amazing all came together and it was amazing.

Speaker 3:

I'm so proud of our team for putting that together and doing that and we've got pictures, I think, on our website and here in the showroom if anybody needs to take a look at it. But that what we we don't just do the regular stuff, we get creative. We I, we make those crazy ideas that somebody comes in and goes I want to do this, and we're like, yeah, let's do it. We make it happen and I love that. I have a great team that I can trust and rely on and that comes, we come together and we really take care and love our clients and help bring their dreams to life.

Speaker 1:

That's amazing. Yeah, that sounds really cool.

Speaker 3:

I'm going to have to go look at those pictures. Oh yeah, yeah. It's one of those things where you're like this is really cool. I'm so glad we did this Sounds cool, all right.

Speaker 1:

So what also it sounds like is that we need to get you back on for another podcast where we talk about more things that you do and we also. It sounds like if you're a couple planning a wedding, basically you just need to walk into Eventful Rental with like a notebook and just start looking around, because we absolutely did not touch on everything you guys do.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, it's hard to. It's a lot. I would love for people just come in, take a look at what we have, get our pricing and then you can take that. We can get you a quote and you can take it home and you can go through it and go okay, this makes sense, or no? I really want to do this myself. I'm going to do this instead, or no, I don't need this, but I need this instead and we can customize everything to what you need and then, when you're ready to start booking and laying down plans, we're right there with them, ready to go.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's just one of those things where looking at the website doesn't do it justice.

Speaker 3:

No, it really doesn't. It's hard to convey all that we do on a website, and we try, but it's yeah, being able to come in, be hands-on and really just sit down and talk with us to you know, to see how we can make something happen. I think there's a lot of value in that and it's worth the time to come in and just and you don't have to. I mean, we have worked with brides from far away. I've worked with some out of New York and Virginia where all we could do is FaceTime and send pictures and we did it and we made it happen. So it we can do it any kind of way. Coming in is best, but whatever people need, just have them call us, email us, whatever, and we will do our best to help you out.

Speaker 1:

So how do they call and email you?

Speaker 3:

So you can reach us on our office phone at Air Code 417-882-0700. That's 882-0700. You can also go to our website, which is wwweventfulcom, and there's a wish list where you can click on that and actually make a wish list that will be submitted in to us. You can email at either Amanda or Mindy it's M-E-N-D-Y at eventfulrentscom and we can also do emails also, but usually calling is the best way to reach us.

Speaker 1:

Gotcha so Eventful Rents with an S.

Speaker 3:

Yes, that's correct. It looks different than our name, it's just. I don't know why it's the way we had to do it.

Speaker 1:

So is your Facebook and Instagram handle like that too? Eventful Rents.

Speaker 3:

So no Eventful Rental is our Facebook and Instagram, and we do get messages off of those. That's a little harder sometimes when people are messaging us off of Facebook with different things, because sometimes there's so many questions you have to ask so we can make sure we get you the right thing. That's a little more difficult, but we're happy for people to reach out any way possible to us and then we can figure out how to really sit down and make their dream a reality, awesome.

Speaker 1:

Well, thank you, Amanda. It's been amazing talking to you and I'm sorry that we had to rush through your inventory of 1 billion.

Speaker 3:

Oh, that's okay, like I said, stuff back there I don't even know we have so I love it All right.

Speaker 1:

Well, have a good afternoon, get back to work, I guess.

Speaker 3:

Thank you, y'all have a good day.
