Welcome to Metropolitan Weddings. I'm Meg, I'm Dawn, and we are here to educate couples with information from wedding professionals in the industry.
Speaker 2:Our goal is to make the wedding planning process as seamless as possible by providing you with insight from industry professionals.
Speaker 1:Okay, couples, let's get this party started. Welcome listeners. We are here today with our friend Dawn can tell you all about her because she uses her services frequently. Did I just out you on that, Dawn? You?
Speaker 2:did, but I'm okay with it, okay.
Speaker 1:Cassie, introduce yourself and your business.
Speaker 3:Hi, I'm Cassie and my business is Golden Aesthetics, so I do everything skincare related. I sell skincare, we do facials. Yeah, that's it Pretty much me in a nutshell.
Speaker 1:You exist solely to make us look good.
Speaker 3:Basically yeah, Okay.
Speaker 1:Basically, yeah, I'm okay with that. Basically, yeah, okay, basically, yeah, I'm okay with that. So, cassie, what we like to do to kick things off is have like a quick questionnaire. Um, these are just like quick responses, first thing that comes to your mind answering wise. Are you ready for this? Oh yes okay, first question is what is your biggest pet peeve? Oh liars, wait what?
Speaker 3:Wires, oh liars. That makes way more sense. Yeah, yeah, no, yeah, that's for thinking in my head. I can't stand dishonesty, can't stand it Okay.
Speaker 1:Excellent, same. I also don't like wires, though, just for the record.
Speaker 3:Did it sound like I said wires? That's what I heard, but that's because I'm weird under wires, yes, I also don't like those amen all right uh, fight, flight or freeze.
Speaker 1:Wait, what you know like fight, fight or flight, fight, fight or flight. Well man, I just lost it. Fight, flight or freeze. Like which one are you?
Speaker 3:Oh, which one am I? Yeah, I think I freeze, I freeze, and then I think about it later in the shower. I'm like that's what I should have said.
Speaker 1:You know, I do know, I'm freeze also Scrambled, fried or poached eggs.
Speaker 3:Oh, none, no eggs, no, it's whatever my husband wants. When we go anywhere, I'm like what kind of eggs do you want? And he just gets the eggs, because I'm not an egg girl, okay, so no, it's weird.
Speaker 1:So you're a sharer though. Oh yeah, that's weird. So you're a sharer though. Oh yeah, that's nice. Staycation cruise or trip to a foreign land oh, foreign land. Okay, do you have any preferences? Where's your dream foreign land vacay?
Speaker 3:Oh gosh, dream vacay. I don't exactly. I'd have to really dive into that and think about it because I don't want to be impulsive, but for sure my next one uh, we're going on is Scotland, nice. So I mean there's lots of other like beautiful places you could go, but I just I want to go to Scotland.
Speaker 1:So last question three words to describe your business.
Speaker 3:Ooh um results relaxation and glowing Ooh.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, I'm on board with all three of those. That's amazing, I like those. Good job for being on the spot, oh thanks. So let's start with relaxation. So what portions of the business do you think fall under relaxation? And describe those to me me.
Speaker 3:Well, I feel like as soon as you kind of walk in, I tried to kind of set this mood and tone where everything's kind of dark and moody and you know I've got like a dark wall and gold frames and dim lighting and I have candles lit and I try to relax you as soon as you walk in the door with just you know what you're seeing and then also what you're feeling. So you know I always have a bed warmer on my bed. It's nice and comfortable. I use warm towels, everything smells good. So I try to hit like all of those senses for you as far as, like what you're seeing, what you're feeling, what you're smelling.
Speaker 3:And then also I mean you're getting like a facial massage, a neck and shoulder massage typically. So there's also that added part that's just relaxing and just as women, I think sometimes we just need to and men also just need to lay down, just do nothing. Right, it's so nice just to just lay there and like let someone else make the decision for you on what needs to be done with your skin and your face, and so I think all that kind of combined, you just get to relax and not think about it and just let me take the lead and take care of you.
Speaker 1:Adam. Yeah, are you relaxed after hearing all of those? Hey Adam.
Speaker 2:Adam wake up.
Speaker 1:Yep, yep.
Speaker 3:He fell asleep.
Speaker 1:I think he might have dozed a bit there.
Speaker 3:It was the ambiance I created.
Speaker 1:It was. You definitely set the stage for relaxation. I was there with you too. That sounds really nice, even to the point where you were like, just let me take, just like I got you.
Speaker 3:Yeah. Yeah, that's what I tried to create Because I mean I've kind of worked in all sides of aesthetics I've worked in laser spas and day spas and medical spas and, you know, even plastic surgery and so I kind of have seen all these bits and pieces and aspects to the business and the industry and I've kind of created my own little take on it. So like I give you the results but I also want you to be relaxed. So I've been able to kind of curate what lines I know work really well for the skin and products and ingredients, and I just kind of got to do my own thing now. So I like to combine those results, but I still want you to walk out of here and be like, oh, that was nice, that was relaxing.
Speaker 1:I'm sold. I like it. Okay. So one of your other words was glowing. So is this your personality that's glowing, or what do you mean by that?
Speaker 3:Well, really your skin, I mean. But I feel like, oh my gosh, anytime you're, I feel like most people that are in this space with me, like they're venting. It's almost like therapy for you and me and, um, and it's like, and you do, I feel like you walk out feeling a little bit lighter and then on top of that is glowing and you just, I don't know, you just feel good, but yeah, I mean that's kind of where the name ties in too is just golden, just like I love that feel of just glowing and you know feeling your best and you know you're so golden. Harry Styles said it best, I guess that's awesome.
Speaker 1:I mean, I think we all want to be glowing. You know, I think I want to walk out glowing from the inside out and the relaxation and all of this does speak to me on that a little bit.
Speaker 3:Yeah yeah, and you can at any age, and I feel like that's something that in this industry, it's so like, oh, if you're not, you know 22, like it's. But it's like I'm almost 40 and I'm doing this and, um, I've treated women that are in their eighties and seventies and sixties and like it's, it's all the same thing to me, like when you're laying here and I'm treating you, it's just, it's so funny. There's just a part of every person that kind of comes out of you and you just are like I don't know how to explain it. It's like we're all kind of the same and like once you're in this space and like no makeup on and we're just treating your skin, and I don't know, it's just, it's kind of a beautiful thing.
Speaker 3:I love what I do. I just I love being able to treat people and help them with their skin, and not that we all need to look like we're you know 18 again. That's totally unrealistic. But there is definitely improvements and just things we can do that make you feel your absolute best and and glowing literally from the inside out by the time you leave. So I just love it.
Speaker 1:I love it too.
Speaker 2:Me too, I'm ready to go. I love it too. Me too, I'm ready to go Set an appointment.
Speaker 1:So let's talk a little bit about the actual specific services.
Speaker 3:Which services do you offer you sort of ran through them, but let's talk about them individually. Yeah, so I have a handful of different treatments that I do and I'm always kind of adding new things just kind kind of as I go, which is also like the beautiful thing about owning my own place. Now I can kind of just I like this, let's do this now. Um, so it's been kind of fun, I'm able to do that. So, um, probably my most popular treatments are my hydrofusion, which is um like deep cleansing. You get a great enzyme with that which just eats away dead skin and then we infuse like hyaluronic acid and peptides so your skin's just hydrated again, glowing and just is probably one of the most popular treatments that I do, paired with a dermaplane typically.
Speaker 3:The Oxyglow is another great one that's newer kind of I'd probably say newer to Springfield in the last couple of years. Not a lot of people carry it, but that one is really just like an oxygen rich treatment that anytime we're introducing oxygen to the skin not to get like too sciencey, but it just is able to heal the skin. It kills any bacteria on the surface of the skin and whatever we're using topically is just able to kind of drop down into the skin. That much more because we're creating this oxygen rich environment. So basically, your end result is just again glowing skin and we're treating acne, we're treating fine lines and wrinkles, you know. Whatever it may be just texture issues, so that's another great one. I offer a variety of chemical peels from you know, very light to literally. I mean, your face is falling off.
Speaker 3:So I have a nice variety of those, and I shouldn't say face falling off, but kind of you know plan for a couple of days of downtime, but those are great if you're just like get it off. You know, I need to just shed this dead skin, which is great for the fall and winter. My newest treatment that I've been offering that I'm excited about is called Beyond Botox and it is a tightening facial um. So really great for anybody who feels like they've got that loss of elasticity in their skin. They're feeling kind of saggy, um, lots of lines and wrinkles on the skin, and they just maybe don't want to get Botox, but they want to tighten things up. Um, sorry, my bluetooth speaker was just yelling at me in the background, but but it was turning off.
Speaker 2:I don't know if you heard that.
Speaker 3:But anyway, that particular treatment is great. It's just like a tightening peptide facial, but yeah, that one's called Beyond Botox. And then I also offer microneedling, which is pretty popular, and that one's great, just for collagen induction therapy basically. And again, we're treating pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, any sort of texture issue, and then, amongst all of that, there's also just my signature facial, which is pretty much just customized to whatever your skin needs. So big variety of different things that I offer. Sorry, that was a lot. It was. It was good, though I know you were like was a lot.
Speaker 1:It was. It was good. Though I know you were like rattling, I was like taking notes, I liked this information.
Speaker 2:You're like what do I want to do?
Speaker 1:I know I'll number them one to five here in a minute. So the customization one is that kind of one that you utilize more after you've treated someone a few times and kind of get to know their skin. Or how utilize more after you've treated someone a few times and kind of get to know their skin or how, is one of those.
Speaker 3:I usually recommend that the very first time you come in, like, if you come in and you're like, oh, I want to try this oxy thing or what's the hydrafacial thing, we can always do that, of course.
Speaker 3:But usually when it's your first time in, I'm like, okay, well, let's take a look at what's going on and what are your concerns. And then I kind of customize something based on that and say, okay, today let's do this. Next time you come in, you know, let's see how your skin responds to this, because, you know, whenever you're using new products and different things like that, sometimes your skin may have a reaction. So I tend to try to, you know, err on the side of caution and just treat the skin safely and make sure you know the next time we can always take it up a level where we can, you know, try this stronger peel or whatever. But yeah, pretty much the first time you come in, I'm like let's just do the, you know, golden signature facial. We'll start with that and then we kind of build off of that. It's kind of my starting point with most people.
Speaker 1:That's a good way to start, I think, and it's nice and it kind of sounds like you know what you're doing yeah, I kind of do yeah versus me or you know whoever just going to the store and picking, like looking at you know jars of things and being like uh, maybe maybe, oh yeah, just try and try, and then you're like, yep, that didn't work.
Speaker 2:Next, so much wasted money overwhelming.
Speaker 3:It's so overwhelming and it's gotten so much worse. Like it's wonderful as social media and technology is, I feel like it's overwhelmed people so much, like there's so many things out there and it's like it really doesn't have to be that complicated. You don't need a 12 step skincare program. Like I break it down really simply for you and I'm like okay, we need to cleanse, we need to exfoliate, we need to moisturize, like that's it. We'll earn a course on screen. So four, but we can break it from 12 to four. You know, if I can simplify it and make you feel less overwhelmed, like I love to do that because it is it's overwhelming. And some people come in here and they're like I have no idea what I need and I love that too, cause. Then I'm like okay, well, let me make some suggestions. Some people just want to be told what the heck to do. They have no idea.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I mean, I think anybody who doesn't know what they're doing. You know, it is easier just to say please just help me. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3:It really is yeah and I yeah.
Speaker 1:It really is yeah and I get that, and so your last word was results, which I think is now's a good time to kind of talk about why that was one of the words that you would put.
Speaker 3:That was your first word actually. Well, I mean, because why do this? If you don't want results? You know, like, yes, it feels good, yes, it's relaxing. If you don't want results, you know, like, yes, it feels good, yes, it's relaxing. But you know you're spending your hard earned money to come in and spend this time with me and take time away from work or family or whatever. Like the end of the day, I want you to be like, oh, yeah, that was worth it. Not only did I get to relax, but like my skin looks so good, like that's really my business card.
Speaker 3:I don't promote a lot. The biggest thing for me is referral and word of mouth, because I mean, women will leave here and go to lunch with friends and they're always like why does your skin look like that? Like in a good way, what are you doing? Your skin looks so good and and so those are the results that, like, I want, I want you to be able to have. I want you to be able to go to lunch with your friends and not have makeup on after your treatment, and they're like, wow, your skin looks amazing. That's what it's all about for me just feeling confident in your own skin, literally.
Speaker 1:I mean, I think, as a woman who you know, we talked about, like not really knowing what direction and putting trust in you, not really knowing what direction and putting trust in you, but knowing that your like end goal is just to see results and for us to feel comfortable, relaxed, glowing and and showing results, it's definitely worth like just kind of putting yourself out there. It's not something I would. You know that I do often, like I think Dawn's more comfortable with it than me, so it would take, it takes a conversation like this for me to be like okay, I'll try.
Speaker 3:I was going to say that's because she's been seeing me regularly, Meg.
Speaker 1:So she can be your word of mouth right now, Dawn. What?
Speaker 2:do you have to say?
Speaker 1:about Kat.
Speaker 2:Oh my gosh, I, I go. I think it's like the best thing that you can do for your skin is like, at least once a month, just have like a once a month ritual to where you go in, you get, let her take care of your face and then you don't have to worry so much about all the different products and everything. You can just use like really nice clean products in between and then allow her to go deeper and do what needs to be done. And the great thing is she'll make recommendations when you get there. If there's been some sort of change in your skin, something's going on, she'll you know, are you using something different? And kind of go through those things, because she remembers and actually knows what's going on with your skin, which is really nice.
Speaker 3:Yeah, thank you, I try to.
Speaker 2:You do, you do Every time.
Speaker 1:I love it. Oh, thanks, I appreciate that. So what is the first step? When someone wants to like book a session with you, do they just reach out and say hey, I'd like you can find?
Speaker 3:me on Instagram, you can text me, you can email me, you can call me. But, yeah, pretty much through my website you can find my contact information and you know I have people just randomly message me and on Instagram or you know whatever, through email and they just say, hey, I don't really know what I need. Um, do you have some time that I can come in? And we just set up a consultation, and consultations are completely free If you just want to come in and get an idea, and I also have my prices listed on my website too, so you kind of know, like, what things are before you walk in the door. And I'm also happy to discuss any of it over a text, an Instagram message, whatever. I'm pretty laid back with how I communicate. So, yeah, that's the first step is just reach out and we can set something up and do an appointment the same day as your consultation, or we can just talk and you can come up with a plan and we can come up with a game plan together.
Speaker 1:I should have asked this earlier. If I'm a bride looking to get married about, I mean, obviously you're just like you'd start your skincare tomorrow, meg, that's how you. But like how far out should they be thinking about it? But I guess they live in that skin every day, all day, not just for their wedding.
Speaker 3:So that's kind of a dumb question, right, right, well, but if they're like wanting to like really feel like my skin is in the best shape possible before their wedding, it's so hard to say because everybody's skin is different. So it's like you know, are you struggling with something in particular? You know, like I've got really bad acne, but in that case, like, maybe we need a little bit longer than if you're not really dealing with anything, but you just want your skin to look really pretty that day so that your makeup goes on nice and smooth. Um, as soon as you get engaged, I mean, if you give me three months, we can make a big difference. If you give me six months, it's going to be even better. And if you can give me nine months to a year, even better than that be even better. And if you can give me nine months to a year, even better than that.
Speaker 3:But, um, I definitely don't recommend like jumping into this like the week before your wedding and being like, hey, oh, I need a facial. Like I'm getting married next week, because in that case, you know, I'd like to spend a little bit more time with your skin, just so that I make sure we're not going to have a weird reaction, and so the last thing I want is for you to have hives on your wedding day because we used something that irritated you. So I'd like for people to get in at least, I'd say, a month before your wedding at the minimum, but of course, if we can do longer than that, that's even better.
Speaker 2:Yay, I always say go longer, longer, that makes sense after.
Speaker 3:I said if I could pick. If, like you were, you just got engaged this weekend and your wedding date is, you know, next fall, like okay, well, let's start now and.
Speaker 3:I've had. I've had a handful of girls that have done that and I love it. They've sent me pictures and they're like I felt so beautiful the day of my wedding. My makeup looked amazing because my skin was amazing and it just. You know, it all works together, so I just love it. Also, I have a Golden Girls referral club and basically a bride can get her facial completely for free if they want to send their bridesmaids here. For every person you send whether it's your mother-in-law, your bridesmaids, your sister, whomever you get $20. And then the cool part is I also kick that back and give that to your friend or your bridesmaid or whomever it is that's coming in. So they get a little bit of a discount their first time coming in and then you also will get one for sending them. So you can stack that up and you know I don't know however many friends you have you can end up getting your facial for free.
Speaker 2:So nice yeah.
Speaker 3:I love referrals absolutely.
Speaker 1:That is amazing. I'm glad you threw that in there so you, what is your website and your Instagram so that people can look you up?
Speaker 3:So my Instagram is I hate Instagram when these names, all the names, are taken, so you have to use like underscores, all this silly stuff. But it's golden underscore aesthetics, underscore skin, super simple, right. But that's that was. That's what Instagram had for me, so that's what I went with. And then my website is Golden Aesthetics and that's glossgeniuscom, so goldenestheticsglossgeniuscom.
Speaker 2:Okay, so for us that aren't good at spelling spell aesthetics for us.
Speaker 3:Aesthetics. This is like a spelling bee Aesthetics A-E-S, t-h-e, t-i-c-s. Aesthetics.
Speaker 1:Can you use it in a sentence?
Speaker 3:I own golden aesthetics.
Speaker 1:What is it derivative from or of?
Speaker 3:Oh, I don't know. I see I don't even know how to ask the question.
Speaker 1:You're off the hook. Thank you for you know, holding an appointment open for us today so that we could talk about skin care oh, of course, thank you for having me.
Speaker 3:I appreciate it. Oh, also one thing I want to mention um, on October 25th I am having an open house, um, in the space that I'm renting. So I rent a space out of. It's called bliss and it's such a cute spot, but there's lots of like hairstylist, nail techs, uh, lash artists here, so it's kind of like a one-stop place, but it's the cutest little place that I get to call home now. But, um, we're having an open house October 25th from four to seven and we're going to have a couple local vendors, like there's going to be a boutique truck. Lala Collective is going to have their charm bar here, so I'll be doing some discounts on products, giveaways, some different packages. We'll have some desserts and champagne. So that's October 25th, it's a Friday night. It'll be a fun little girls night from 4 to 7. Awesome, yay, can you? I can use it for a second. That's October 25th.
Speaker 2:It's a Friday night. It'll be a fun little girls night from four to seven. Awesome. Yay, can you I could use it. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely Cool. Well, thank you guys for having me. Oh, thank you. Why are we?
Speaker 1:saying these right now.
Speaker 2:We're so we're so like in sync. It's like frightening Megan turned into each other in so many ways.
Speaker 1:It's getting weird. It's getting real weird. Thank you for spending time with us. I had a great educational period. I will study my notes.
Speaker 2:Oh good. Good good and I'll be giving you a call. Okay, we'll talk later, all right, bye, all right, thank you guys, bye, bye, bye, thank you, all right, thank you guys, bye, bye, bye.
