Meet The Wedding Pro - with Morgan from Belamour

Dawn Williams and Megan Rallis

Ten acres, a 125-year-old barn, and a silo that steals the show—this is Belamour, a family-run wedding venue in the Ozarks that blends rustic character with modern flexibility. We sit down with owner Morgan Boyd to trace how a personal connection turned into a thoughtful purchase, why the property’s design matters for guest experience, and what it takes to future‑proof a beloved space without losing its soul.

Morgan walks us through the details couples care about most: the open-air barn wall and covered patio that create real indoor‑outdoor flow, the loft seating that gives guests a unique view of the action, and a ceremony lawn with the original silo as a striking backdrop. We dig into the bridal cottage—big enough for overnights with your crew—and the groom’s cabin that keeps the guys close to the action without crowding the setup. From a practical kitchen and on-site rentals to a fire pit and a concrete pad perfect for an outdoor bar or dance floor, Belamour is built to adapt to weather, timelines, and personal style.

Seasonality in the Midwest is real, and Morgan shares candidly how the team manages hot stretches, why they cap comfortable capacity at around 150 using the patio and loft, and the plan to add insulation and a new roof to extend the calendar. Looking forward, we explore ideas that make the most of the land: a wildflower field for stunning photos, intimate summer concerts on the ceremony lawn, cozy fall markets, and space for nonprofit and corporate events. If you’re hunting for a barn venue with authentic charm, thoughtful layout, and room to make it your own, this conversation will help you picture the day—start to finish.

SPEAKER_03:

SPEAKER_04:

Our goal is to make the wedding planning process as seamless as possible by providing you with insight from industry professionals.

SPEAKER_03:

Okay, couples, let's get this party started. Welcome, listeners. We're glad that you are back with us. We are gonna have a chat with one of our wedding venues this time. Um please introduce yourself and your venue to us today.

SPEAKER_01:

My name is Morgan Floyd, and I own Bellamore Weddings and Events alongside my husband and my sister Riley.

SPEAKER_03:

Spell Bellamore. So that every time you say it, they have it right. Go ahead.

SPEAKER_01:

I know. It's so hard. B-E-L-A-N-O-U-R.

SPEAKER_03:

Bellamore. Adam, how would you say that?

SPEAKER_02:

Bellamore?

SPEAKER_03:

Oh, you usually have some sort of creative pronunciation. You just came at me straight.

SPEAKER_02:

Well, I mean, it's such a fancy word.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

I don't know where it came from, like how the name came about. Right. Bellamore.

SPEAKER_03:

There we go.

SPEAKER_01:

It's it's French meaning beautiful love or a beloved person. And the fo the former owner was named Kim Bell. So I've never asked her, but I'm assuming it's like a play on her last name. That's what I always thought it was.

SPEAKER_04:

I always assume.

SPEAKER_03:

All right. Well, now that we know it's like beautiful love, Adam. Let's hear your beautiful love, Bellamore.

SPEAKER_02:

Bellamore.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah. You're the worst. Oh my gosh. All right. So why did you decide that you should buy a wedding venue? What was it about this venue that you were like, all right, I think this is the one.

SPEAKER_01:

So we kim, um, I mean, I've known Kim my whole life. She's one of my mom's best friends. And last year she had approached my sister Riley about possibly purchasing the venue. She's always been really into um like event management, and uh she had a fashioned merchandising degree in college, um, which the stuff she learned kind of goes along with event management, um just as far as like merchandising and organization and all that. Um so she approached Riley and Riley was back and forth and she wanted to make it work really bad. And that's when my husband and I offered to partner with her um so that uh we could just do it all together. And my husband and I are um pretty business minded, and um so it was a good partnership, and it's something that um you know she'll be like the booth on the ground and uh be the one, not we don't do like event coordination or anything, but she'll be the one um overseeing events and scheduling and all that, and then then I'm more on like the operation side. So the venue itself is beautiful. We've we've held our own events there. I've had my baby shower there, and I've gone to many weddings there, I've been in weddings there, so it's a really special place for us, and so um we were really honored that she um reached out to Riley and offered to let her purchase it before she listed it to the public.

SPEAKER_03:

That is kind of an honor, that's really sweet.

SPEAKER_01:

Yes, yeah, it was a big deal that she asked her, so um, we really wanted to make it work.

SPEAKER_03:

Aww. I love it that she had so much passion and that you guys, you know, have a a good re enough relationship that you would entrust this like partnership moving forward to not, you know, it's a good sister.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, my yes, we're very I'm very close with both my sisters and my whole family's actually kind of gotten involved. Like last week when that big storm hit, my both my parents were up there multiple days with us, um, helping cut limbs and haul, and my mom's been up there helping us um set up for events and clean up, and um, so it's been really cool. My little sister's been involved, and uh her husband helped uh mow once a week. So it's kind of become a big family thing, so it's been really fun.

SPEAKER_03:

It's bringing you all together.

SPEAKER_01:

Yes.

SPEAKER_03:

Okay, so if you had to describe Bilamour in three words.

SPEAKER_00:

Let me think.

SPEAKER_02:

These are the worst. I'm the worst.

SPEAKER_00:

I know. Let's see.

SPEAKER_03:

Just the aesthetics, not like the you don't have to get into everything else, just the aesthetics.

SPEAKER_00:

Right.

SPEAKER_01:

Um I would say rustic. I would say um vessel, just because we do offer a lot of really cool amenities, and then um I mean it's just beautiful. I mean, it's just a really beautiful place. It's on 10 acres, and um, I feel like everywhere you look you get you know a different taste of like the Ozark.

SPEAKER_03:

So I yeah, it's like it's a barn, right? Yeah. So the rustic barn, but then out back there's this I don't know, what do you call the ceremony area? What what's that backdrop?

SPEAKER_01:

Um, we have like um an outdoor ceremony place that has uh the original silo from the property, um, kind of like a wooden stage, and we have like the wooden queues out there. Um and then like I said, it's set on 10 acres, and we have the um grooms quarters, which is kind of like a a cabin vibe, and then we have the bridal cottage, which is more of like a a cute little white farmhouse.

SPEAKER_03:

It's super cute. If if listeners, you guys haven't been to a wedding at Bellamore in a while. When how long has that been there?

SPEAKER_01:

She bought it because the property's been there since 1891, I believe is when it was originated, and then uh Kim bought it in 2015 and totally renovated the barn and the bridal cottage, and um she built her own house out there and she really made it a cool place.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah. It is really cool. There's a the the beautiful bridal cottage. I mean, it's pretty big.

SPEAKER_01:

It's really big. It's um I don't know how many square feet it is, I should know that, but um, it has a huge like living area with a getting ready space. It has um two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and then a kitchen. Uh so we do uh some brides will rent it for like rent the property for two days and they can stay overnight with their bridesmates, or um, there's a bunch of stuff we can do, and we use it as a short-term rental um, or we're planning to during the off season.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, that's really cute that they can stay there kind of for the weekend to just wake up with each other and start getting ready at their leisure, and there's like a little kitchenette and it's again. Yeah, it's gorgeous. It it would be a fun place to stay, even if you weren't getting married there, but just adding that extra layer of like you know, attachment to the property and getting to spend more time with it before you got married there would be really cool.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I know we were hoping to offer some kind of special for couples um in the future for like anniversaries uh where they could stay, you know, one or two nights and just kind of you know be able to walk around the property and stuff like that. So it might be kind of a fun stay patron for those people.

SPEAKER_03:

I love it. I love it. It's plenty of place for the kids to play to.

SPEAKER_01:

Yes, absolutely.

SPEAKER_03:

So I love the the the and it's easy. Okay, so from the bridal cottage, they're all if everyone is either in the barn because it's raining and they needed to be inside or at the outside ceremony area, like it's a private way for the uh bride to get kind of in place without being seen. Yes. So that part's really fun and cool. What are where's the groom's cabin? Tell me more about it.

SPEAKER_01:

It's right in between the barn and the um bridal cottage. They're all on like a a path leading up to the barn. So the groommen are tucked away too, which is nice. Um, and it's I say it's nothing fancy, it's really cute. We have it um decorated, very like masculine. Um, and it's it looks like a lot, not a log cabin, but like, you know, cabiny. And we don't have like a bathroom or anything like that. It's pretty simple for the guys, but they're super close to the barn, so they can pop in there um and use the kitchen or bathrooms or whatever. Um, but yeah, there's plenty of room for a few crowsmen to hang out. We have a TV in there, so it's a fun place for the guys.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah. Nice groom's day.

SPEAKER_04:

The property, I mean, the guys can just be outside hanging out all day, playing games, doing things. You guys have such a great place for everyone to hang out during the day. I love the girl, I love the girls' cottage, and then the guys can just hang out and have fun. Yeah, it's perfect.

SPEAKER_01:

Absolutely, and they can be out of the the actual venue, you know, just so they don't feel like they're in the way. I feel like that's at least wedding size in there. And I feel like a lot of times the guys are just kind of like standing around waiting for so time. Like, you know, they get ready off right and then come. So this is a nice place that can change into their suits right before the ceremony. They're not sitting around. So um, yeah, it's nice.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, everyone wants them to be a part of everything, not just show up 15 minutes before ready.

SPEAKER_01:

Exactly. How about you? Exactly. Know where they are and that they're behaving that way.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, yeah, you guys have a great space for that. Yeah, you get you you need to know where they are. Keep your eye on them.

SPEAKER_03:

That's hilarious. Okay, so what other ameniti amenities was well, special was the word you used, but to describe the amenities, what other amenities do you have?

SPEAKER_01:

Um, I think just like the customization of the space. So we have um an outdoor patio that is connected to the barn. We have some like a fire pit area, an outdoor seating space. We have um, I mean, it doesn't sound fancy, but like this is like a concrete pad you could set up like a bar area or an outdoor dance floor. So it really fits um any bride style or like any format. And even in the few weddings we've had since we purchased the property, it's been cool to see what people do. Like um the the first wedding of the year was a beautiful day, and they had it all um like kind of open air. So the barn, like the original doors were on there, and so we were able to open it up, and then we have like a glass sliding door. So basically, one side of the barn was completely open up onto the covered patio, and the DJ set up on the patio, so people that were outside could listen. Um, we had some seating out there too, so that was really fun and a really good use of the space. And then I just think the fact that has so many um I mean, there's it's on 10 acres, so that's really cool. And we're we're in the process of possibly doing like a wildflower field. We have a lot of really fun plans with it, but maybe it's possible like a wildflower field and um really take advantage of those 10 acres to give um brides um a lot of really cool, not just photo opportunities, but just cool spaces for their guests to use.

SPEAKER_04:

That's really cool. I do love how the side of the barn, that one side opens up. It's complete, it's completely different than any other location, how you have that. And it just gives it kind of that open air feeling too when you go over to that other. Yeah, I really like it. I do too. It's so cool.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, and we've been out there before. So you uh you mentioned something earlier about off-season. So is there a time of year when you guys don't have weddings there?

SPEAKER_01:

So right now, the way Ken, the former owner, has been operating in its April through October. Um, and like this upcoming year, we don't have much in like the thick of summer just because it is it's a 125-year-old barn, and so the insulation isn't great. So winter is not exactly an option right now, and then um we definitely would be open hosting or hosting some weddings in like those really hot summer weeks. Um, but there's just not a lot we can do as far as like um heating and air. So within the next year, we're planning to insulate the bar. Um we're working with uh some contractors on that, getting a new roof. That way we can do some stuff in the off season and also just make those summer months more comfortable. And then I mean, sometimes you go to a wedding in September and it's a hot day, and no matter where you are, you're miserable. So it'll help even on just those flip days where um you thought it was gonna be nice and you weren't planning for it to be, you know, 80 degrees in October or whatever.

SPEAKER_03:

So what in Missouri? Sometimes the weather doesn't do what you wanted it to. Shocking. It's it is it is kind of hard to plan events in this area. You're just like, I mean, it's my best shot. I'm just gonna pick a day and hope for the best.

SPEAKER_01:

It is, yeah. And with that being, we uh with us being able to do like the opening, and we have really big um fans inside, we make the best of it. Yeah. Um, but it will be a lot more comfortable. Um yeah, in the future.

SPEAKER_02:

So any other future plans?

SPEAKER_01:

That is our big thing. I'm trying to think if there's anything else that we have in mind. Um we're meeting with someone this month about possibly doing that like wildflower field that I said. I don't know if I doubt we'll do like a one of those you pick fields where you um, you know, pick the flowers yourself or anything like that. But I think it'd be really cool to do um some kind of like flower field or like even sunflowers or something in the the I don't even know when sunflowers bloom. I'm not really a gardener all. I don't know.

SPEAKER_03:

Um I know you're like these are the flowers I want.

SPEAKER_01:

I maybe that's why we're meeting with someone. We're not just gonna go out and like start throwing seeds everywhere. Right, right. Um yeah, but yeah, and I think just making the most of the 10 acres because um I don't know how much of it right now is being used as far as like the outfoldings and the venue itself, but I think there's a lot more we could do with it. Um, and then of course the insulation will that will be able to take us a lot of different places because I would love to be able to do some cool stuff in the off season beyond weddings, you know, like Christmas parties. Um, we really want to start pushing um corporate events more, like um, you know, hooking nonprofits and stuff like that. Um, and I love like antique shopping and stuff. So I would love to um do some kind of like fall market or spring market or something like that. I just think there's a lot of really cool things we could do um with a space, but I'd say that's probably our big plan right now.

SPEAKER_04:

Now you're gonna have to grow pumpkins. Yeah, that would be so fun.

SPEAKER_00:

I'll tell I'll tell my husband.

SPEAKER_04:

Have a fall market. Yeah, have a fall market and everyone's out there picking pumpkins at the same time.

SPEAKER_00:

That would be really cute.

SPEAKER_04:

Musicians playing music. I mean, I can help you playing this.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, I would love that. Oh, my husband is actually talking with someone about doing um like a summer concert. Oh, fine. We're in the top, yeah, we're in the works on that. So we'll see. There's a lot of um logistical stuff we're trying to figure out, but I think that's something that we're gonna do. So we'll see how that goes, because that'd be a really fun um use of that outdoor ceremony space in the patio. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

It really would. Be super cute. Yeah. All right, let's talk logistics. I know it's not as fun as like, tell me about the wildflowers, but um, so how many people, how many people are we talking?

SPEAKER_01:

150. 150, and that's us sitting people outside on the covered patio. Um, and we have upstairs loft seating as well. Um, so it's a it's set up like almost like a bar going around the loft, like um it's regular like dining height seating, but um, there's like almost like a bar table wrapped around. So we have that and a couple tables upstairs. So 150 is where where it's with people being comfortable, that's that's our max.

SPEAKER_03:

I do like that upper level Skyloft thing though, where it's really cool.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, and I've been to the wedding where I sat up there and I really enjoyed it. Yeah, yeah. It's pretty cool.

SPEAKER_03:

It's a it's a unique uh perspective.

SPEAKER_01:

Yep. It is.

SPEAKER_03:

I like that part. Um, so if I'm ever invited to a wedding out there, I'll request seating up upstairs.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh, perfect. Yeah, we'll decorate your your seating here, you know. Give you a little crown.

SPEAKER_03:

You know me so well. Um, what do you think sets you guys apart from other venues? Like, what do you have?

SPEAKER_01:

I think just the flexibility as far as um how many different spaces. I feel like I've said the word spaces so many times since we've been talking, but I don't know what else to call it. I just like we have so many different spaces that it really suits any type of wedding, any size. I mean, even if it's like a small elopement type, or not, I don't know, like just a small tiny reception to something really big. Um, we have that capability. I mean, we could set up for just a small party on the covered patio, and then just being able to use those um bright and green quarters too frees up a lot of space as well. So I think that that is probably our um our big falling point. And then like also, you know, our kitchen on site. We have some um some rentals on site too. So I think that's probably you know what sets us apart is just the flexibility and like ability to customize your events.

SPEAKER_03:

I like it. What other word for spaces would we use, guys? Give us some get your thesaurus out. Areas uh areas. Uh yeah, we're good at this, I can tell.

SPEAKER_04:

Dwell dwelling point. Dwelling point.

SPEAKER_03:

Dwelling point.

SPEAKER_04:

All right, her her other job is coming out of her right now. Um it's also a real estate agent.

SPEAKER_00:

You do currently retired from real estate.

SPEAKER_03:

But you do, you've got the outdoor kind of nature lawn like space, and then the the seated with the wood stage, and like you could decorate that with so many different ways and have that kind of look going, however, and inside the barn and upstairs at the barn and outside in what you were talking about, the uh covered patio part of the barn. Yeah, just a lot of different looks.

SPEAKER_01:

And I love how it's laid out. I think Kim did a really good job of that. Like, you know, the parking lot is a ways away, the driving rooms quarters are a ways away. Like everything's spread out, but not too much. So, you know, you're not walking outside into the parking lot, you know. You still have you know mature trees in between the buildings, and I don't know. I just think she did a really good job laying it out.

SPEAKER_03:

What's your favorite Thanksgiving food?

SPEAKER_01:

Mine. Um, let's see. I really like like box stuffing, not really like homemade stuffing, but like box stuffing. You want the stovers.

SPEAKER_02:

Stovetop. Stovetop, sorry.

SPEAKER_01:

And I do love a good sea potato bathroom, too, with like marshmallows on top and stuff. So yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

And I don't know what magical science is in that stovetop box, but this is this is a topic in our house because my wife wants homemade stuffing.

SPEAKER_04:

Nobody else.

SPEAKER_02:

No one here. They all want the box.

SPEAKER_04:

Nobody. Everyone wants stovetops. So I never get homemade stuffing because the entire family demands stovetop. I'm like, what is that?

SPEAKER_02:

So much work whenever you have a box that you just dump in and it's done. I make it great.

SPEAKER_04:

Apparently, you can come to our house for Thanksgiving.

SPEAKER_03:

Plenty of stovetop over here. Unpopular opinion. I think stuffing is the worst.

SPEAKER_00:

Really?

SPEAKER_03:

So gross. Like why?

SPEAKER_01:

What is your favorite?

SPEAKER_04:

Mashed potatoes. I knew you were gonna say that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

No gravy.

SPEAKER_04:

No gravy.

SPEAKER_03:

No gravy. I don't like gravy. Interesting.

SPEAKER_01:

Honestly, I don't even think that's considering mashed potatoes, though.

SPEAKER_03:

Starch and butter is like where where I'm like, oh, a roll with butter, popcorn with butter, mashed potatoes with butter.

SPEAKER_04:

Just, you know. She's not about the gravy.

SPEAKER_03:

Cheese and cracker. I just want like a starch and a fat. That's all I want. Yeah. Everything else is meh.

SPEAKER_04:

Thanksgiving does provide that. It does.

SPEAKER_03:

So if somebody wants to come and see the property and get a hold of you and talk about like opportunities for them, what would be the best way to get a hold of you?

SPEAKER_01:

Just get on our website, BellamoreWeddings.com, and all of our contact information is on there. We have a booking link where you can schedule it for with Riley. And then if for some reason her schedule does not work, she does evenings and weekend tours. Um I'm occasionally available during the day. I just usually will have to have a baby with me. So um they can do that, and then um any like, you know, specific questions they have that aren't answered on the website, I'm happy to answer. And um, because our general contact is on there and that'll all go to me.

SPEAKER_03:

Perfect. Do you recommend like an on-site walkthrough, or do you guys usually just have people book straight from the pictures on the website?

SPEAKER_01:

Or I I haven't yet. I don't know like how common that is. Um, we haven't. We've had um, I would totally recommend a walkthrough.

unknown:

Okay.

SPEAKER_01:

Um, just so that they can really get a feel for the property. But we'd be happy to uh, you know, to let I mean I don't know if we have enough pictures on there that you could oh that's what I mean. You're welcome to.

SPEAKER_03:

So definitely something they need to come and see it.

SPEAKER_01:

Yes, absolutely.

SPEAKER_03:

Okay, perfect. Did you guys have any more questions for? Did you say the website?

SPEAKER_01:

Or did you just say BellamoreWeddings.com and I'll spell Bellamore one more time. B-E-L-A-N-O-U-R dot com. I didn't realize how hard it was to spell. I was like when I was meeting people when I was meeting people at Love Bug and I was saying it, I would watch people type it in to find us on social media and some all the different spellings was shocking. I had no idea.

SPEAKER_03:

It's because you've seen it in writing a lot, and so hearing it. Yeah, there's multiple Yep. And now everyone will hear it in Adam's voice.

SPEAKER_00:

Why'd you say that? Bail emo!

SPEAKER_03:

Thank you for spending your time with us.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, yeah, of course. It was great. Thank you.

SPEAKER_03:

Oh gosh. Enjoy the rest of your day.

SPEAKER_01:

Thank you, you two. Thank you so much for having me.

SPEAKER_03:

All right. Bye. Bye.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay. Bye.
