Had a"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":222.02,"endTime":224.5,"body":"year round curriculum, and that"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":224.5,"endTime":226.9,"body":"was very intriguing to me,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":224.5,"endTime":226.9,"body":"because I didn't want to waste"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":226.9,"endTime":229.36,"body":"any time. I wanted to get to"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":226.9,"endTime":229.36,"body":"work when I got to school, I had"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":229.36,"endTime":231.76,"body":"to start, you know, figuring out"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":229.36,"endTime":231.76,"body":"how to pay some bills and things"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":231.76,"endTime":234.76,"body":"like that. So I got involved in"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":231.76,"endTime":234.76,"body":"trying to get in the jobs"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":234.76,"endTime":238.0,"body":"placement program at school to"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":234.76,"endTime":238.0,"body":"see that, see if I could use any"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":238.0,"endTime":241.26,"body":"of the things I was learning at"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":238.0,"endTime":241.26,"body":"school in the evenings, you"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":241.26,"endTime":244.14,"body":"know, paying for school"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":241.26,"endTime":244.14,"body":"effectively. And I did just"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":244.14,"endTime":246.72,"body":"that. Ended up getting not a"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":244.14,"endTime":246.72,"body":"scholarship, but I got some"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":246.72,"endTime":249.3,"body":"internships and some things. I"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":246.72,"endTime":249.3,"body":"worked at aluminum foundry for a"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":249.3,"endTime":252.84,"body":"little while prior to 911"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":249.3,"endTime":252.84,"body":"because I went to, I started"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":252.84,"endTime":256.56,"body":"school in 98 so I started to"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":252.84,"endTime":256.56,"body":"work a little bit in the"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":256.56,"endTime":260.16,"body":"industry 99 2000 and I was"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":256.56,"endTime":260.16,"body":"working at the the aluminum"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":260.16,"endTime":263.42,"body":"foundry. And then 911 happened."},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":260.16,"endTime":263.42,"body":"And like that business really,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":263.42,"endTime":266.0,"body":"really took a hit because it"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":263.42,"endTime":266.0,"body":"was, it was primarily an import"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":266.0,"endTime":269.72,"body":"business. Realistically, we"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":266.0,"endTime":269.72,"body":"made, like, we made giftware,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":269.72,"endTime":272.24,"body":"effectively, like wind chimes,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":269.72,"endTime":272.24,"body":"gauntlets, things that nature."},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":272.24,"endTime":274.52,"body":"And it was really like old"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":272.24,"endTime":274.52,"body":"school. We were making sand"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":274.52,"endTime":277.82,"body":"casted molds do all this. Oh,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":274.52,"endTime":277.82,"body":"wow. So we were used, you know,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":277.82,"endTime":281.2,"body":"doing match plate making and"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":277.82,"endTime":281.2,"body":"things of that nature. So it was"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":281.2,"endTime":283.72,"body":"a really good hands on"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":281.2,"endTime":283.72,"body":"experience again, while I was in"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":283.72,"endTime":287.38,"body":"school, and actually hadn't been"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":283.72,"endTime":287.38,"body":"exposed yet to the 3d side of"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":287.38,"endTime":290.14,"body":"technology yet in my curriculum"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":287.38,"endTime":290.14,"body":"at school at that time, I was"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":290.14,"endTime":293.98,"body":"still hands on, because my"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":290.14,"endTime":293.98,"body":"initial time at school, I was"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":293.98,"endTime":299.92,"body":"actually going down the special"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":293.98,"endTime":299.92,"body":"effects track for 3d movies."},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":300.0,"endTime":303.54,"body":"Model making. And then I turned"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":300.0,"endTime":303.54,"body":"my course about a year and a"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":303.54,"endTime":306.24,"body":"half into the curriculum, and"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":303.54,"endTime":306.24,"body":"then started to focus more on"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":306.24,"endTime":310.32,"body":"industrial design, largely"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":306.24,"endTime":310.32,"body":"because I felt a I had a certain"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":310.32,"endTime":313.08,"body":"knack for it. And then the other"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":310.32,"endTime":313.08,"body":"thing is, I just felt like it"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":313.08,"endTime":315.84,"body":"was more marketable. I felt like"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":313.08,"endTime":315.84,"body":"it was a lot, it would open me"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":315.84,"endTime":318.9,"body":"up to larger opportunities than"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":315.84,"endTime":318.9,"body":"a little bit more of a pigeon"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":318.9,"endTime":321.38,"body":"holed thing. Who"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":321.38,"endTime":324.98,"body":"knows, but at the end of the"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":321.38,"endTime":324.98,"body":"day, what that did lead me to"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":324.98,"endTime":329.36,"body":"is, after I lost employment at"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":324.98,"endTime":329.36,"body":"the aluminum foundry due to the"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":329.36,"endTime":331.82,"body":"economical circumstances and"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":329.36,"endTime":331.82,"body":"whatnot, I think we all"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":331.82,"endTime":335.24,"body":"experienced things during that"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":331.82,"endTime":335.24,"body":"time. I was able to gain"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":335.24,"endTime":338.9,"body":"employment through a temp agency"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":335.24,"endTime":338.9,"body":"outside of school. It was"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":338.9,"endTime":341.86,"body":"literally just me finding a job"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":338.9,"endTime":341.86,"body":"at a factory. I wanted to work"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":341.86,"endTime":344.32,"body":"at a place that made things"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":341.86,"endTime":344.32,"body":"because I knew that I could"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":344.32,"endTime":347.92,"body":"figure out how to get myself to"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":344.32,"endTime":347.92,"body":"be marketable. I could figure"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":347.92,"endTime":350.74,"body":"out how to be make myself. I"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":347.92,"endTime":350.74,"body":"could both market myself and I"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":350.74,"endTime":353.2,"body":"could make myself valuable in a"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":350.74,"endTime":353.2,"body":"place where they were making"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":353.2,"endTime":355.06,"body":"things whether or not, whether"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":353.2,"endTime":355.06,"body":"they knew it or not,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":355.06,"endTime":358.84,"body":"effectively.
