Justin Field

A special episode of the podcast all about coal seam gas.

A river-side live zoom chat with former member of the NSW Legislative Council and coal seam gas campaigner Jeremy Buckingham.

You can see the live video here

We talk about the history of the coal seam gas campaign in NSW and Jeremy shares some of the amazing tales from the campaign trail, and gives his thoughts on next steps in the campaign.

While we were recording, news broke that the NSW Planning Department had completed its assessment of the Santos Narrabri Gas Project that involves 850 gas wells in the Pilliga Forest and has recommended the project be approved by the Independent Planning Commission. The IPC will now have 12 weeks to assess the project and make a determination. If this project is approved it will open the door to the gas industry rolling out across the North West of the state which still has more than a dozen active CSG exploration licences in place.

So a super timely chat to gee people up, remind them about the risks of this industry and why it is so important to be part of this campaign to protect land and water in NSW.
