In this episode of The PedSpace, child and family psychologist Dr. Don MacMannis discusses the psychological impact of bladder and bowel dysfunction and provides solutions to families of children with BBD. Dr. MacMannis outlines the psychosocial effects of BBD on children and shares applications of the latest brain research to family dynamics, as well as keys to healthy family interactions.
 


Don MacMannis, Ph.D. is a child and family psychologist and Clinical Director of the Family Therapy Institute of Santa Barbara. He has specialized in the treatment of children and families for fifty years. In addition to his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, he has a Master’s degree in School-Child Psychology from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth. He recently won the title of “Best Family Therapist” in a poll taken by SBParent.com.

“Dr. Mac” is the co-author of two highly acclaimed books. How’s Your Family Really Doing?: 10 Keys to a Happy Loving Family, Who’s the Boss? The Win-Win Way to Parent Your Defiant Strong-Willed Child, and Parenting Spirited Strong-Willed Kids, that has been attended by over a thousand parents internationally.
