Many of us are anxious, stress, time pressured, and not fully present to the joys of our life. In our unawakened state we feel lacking and pressed to accomplish the next task in order to feel more complete. But then there is the next task and the next. We never really rest and we can never feel complete by what we do because we are incomplete inside. That is the unawakened state.
