Living Your Yoga - embodied wisdom with Shirlee Williams
This isn’t your average yoga podcast.
Living Your Yoga – Embodied Wisdom is where real life meets real practice—no filter, no fluff, no forced enlightenment.
I’m Shirlee—yoga teacher, breathwork facilitator, and mentor to yoga teachers who are done with performance and ready to show up as their whole, messy, magical selves.
Each week, we explore how yoga lives beyond the mat—through stories, soul talk, deep breaths, and occasional sass. From parenting and partnership to pigeon pose and panic attacks, this podcast is about the real practice: how we show up when life gets loud, uncertain, or beautifully ordinary.
Expect a little wisdom, a little humor, and a whole lot of heart.
Whether you’re a longtime yogi or yoga-curious human just trying to make it through Monday, you’re welcome here.
Take a breath. Let’s begin.

127. Test Those Breasts with Jamie Vaughn
My guest today is Jamie Vaughn.
Jamie Vaughn is a retired school teacher, bonus mom of 3 adult children, wife to her amazing husband, Farrell, dog mom, and “Glamma” to 2 granddaughters. Jamie is a recent breast cancer survivor who is a fierce advocate for other breast cancer patients and survivors. Her journey has been an emotional struggle and still is, at times, in her survivorship, yet she does recognize all of the silver linings as well.
Aside from her mother’s death in October 2019, which gutted her to the core, breast cancer has been a whole new level of trauma. Jamie has shared her story through social media, podcasts, and news programs. She holds a lot of space for others, too. She has a podcast called “Test Those Breasts!™” where she holds important conversations with current patients, survivors, caregivers, multiple types of therapists, and a myriad of medical provider champions, including surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and nurses, to provide much-needed support.
On her podcast, she and guests discuss ALL things breast cancer, including the emotional toll, advocacy, treatment/surgical options, caregiving, and more. She started her podcast as a healing mechanism AND to help shorten the learning curve for those who have yet to be diagnosed, newly diagnosed, survivors, caregivers, and anyone else who is touched by breast cancer.
Absolutely nothing is off-limits for Jamie. She is an open book when it comes to her journey, including her initial response to her diagnosis, unexpected detours, disappointments, anger, fear, and yes, silver linings.
In today's episode, we talk all about turning bad news into an opportunity to learn, grow and teach, finding your purpose, what to do when those we love don't show up as we expect them to, surviving versus thriving and so much more. Tune into today's episode!
