Maniisha :

Welcome to Limbic Light Podcast Season 3. In this season, we'll be diving deep into the marvels of our subconscious mind light, sound, brainwave, entrainment and so many other natural ways to help you become clearer, calmer and more potent in being. I've titled this season Deep Brain Retrain. I'm Manisha Blunchley, your host, with more than 40 years experience in the natural health field, ready to share with you my very best tips. Let's get on with the show. Hello everyone, it's nice to be back with you again Now.

Maniisha :

Today I'm going to be doing a rather different topic and it's more centred or focused for those of you who are working in a health professional therapeutic situation, for all health therapists who might be looking for adjunctive tools that may help the therapy that they're administering to work better or for them to be able to work more easily with their clients. One of the top questions that I've been asked in my time has been what colour therapy methods or devices or techniques do you most use and what do you most recommend? So today I'm going to be talking about my top therapeutic tools for bringing on a quick and easy, calm, quiet, balanced state of being. So there are tools for helping with physical healing, and then there are tools that are perfectly made to bring us into a state of balance, to calm us quickly, to take us out of a fight and flight situation and bring us back into a parasympathetic nervous system dominance. Now we all know that all healing occurs when we are in a state of relaxation. So if you're working with a client who comes into the clinic and is really stressed and unable to relax, it's much harder for whatever therapy you might be doing to penetrate to have its due effect. If we can actually change that person's state of being, their nervous system to be more receptive, more open, more relaxed, more calm, they're invariably going to benefit from your work with them in a much better way.

Maniisha :

So I worked with the Australasian Light Association for seven years. It's an association that's dedicated to bringing out information and education, all about different light and now also sound therapeutic methods, different methods that can benefit our health and during this time I was really quite fortunate to be able to interview lots of different people therapists and designers or inventors of some amazing systems color systems, light systems, sounds, therapy systems so, to my advantage, I gained a lot of knowledge of what's out there and me being very curious and really wanting to do the best for my clients. I did invest quite a bit of time and money and effort into purchasing and then using some of these devices on my clients, so I have a little bit of background experience that I can share with you today. And when I tell you of my favorite tools that I'm using, I want to remind you there are so many different methods and tools out there and of course, I'd love to have a life that's dedicated to looking at all these different systems and devices, testing them out, see how effective they are for different conditions, but it's a full time job and, of course, quite a costly job to do that. So I'm just focusing on the ones that I know and that I have used and I know work well. So just bear in mind, if I don't mention ones that you're familiar with, it doesn't mean that they're not able to function in a very beneficial way for you. Before we go any further, I just wanted to let you know that there will be a summary of all the devices that I have spoken about, their pros, their cons and their ideal foes, and also a link to where you can find out more in a downloadable PDF sheet. You'll be able to access that down below in the show notes. So go right ahead and download that so that you have a record of what I've spoken about and recommend.

Maniisha :

Many therapists actually are not aware at all of the benefits that sound and colour therapies, particularly when they're pulsed in a frequency which can train not only the brain but also different body parts, body functions such as our respiratory rate, our digestion. When colour and sound are used in this pulsing manner, we can achieve amazing results, usually through a form of synchronisation or resonance, when our body starts to entrain itself or resonate itself with whatever external pulsing of light and sound there is. Most people know about brain waves, so that's probably the most common example that I can give. When my time working in the clinic with clients, I've sometimes had people come in and sit down on my chair ready to get on the table and have their acupuncture or massage or whatever other work I might be doing with them that day and they come in the door stressed, they start talking to me and they start crying. They're very anxious, they're turned in knots and it makes it very hard for me to get in there and quieten them down and just get on with my work.

Maniisha :

So one practice that I adopted in my clinic is that I like to put people, particularly people who are struggling when they come in the door, into one of these systems, one of these devices or methods, so that they can start to calm down without me needing to speak to them or do anything to them. I need the work done quickly, easily, effectively, so that I can get along and do my other therapeutic work with them. So that's what some of these devices are perfect for. So what I've done is I've put them into different categories, according to cost, actually, and I'll go through them. So I've got free methods and I've got low cost devices, mid range devices and then the high end devices or systems. I've tried not to put too many in there, just my very best so that I can get the clear information through to you. Okay, so let's start with the free, and even though it's free, it's highly effective. So one of the free methods that I use is I use audio tracks, either on headphones or playing on an MP3 player in the clinic room or even the waiting room, and usually they'll have some sort of beat binaural beats sometimes, or isochronic beats, which are basically repetitive sounds at a certain frequency, and usually, of course, gentle music in the background.

Maniisha :

Sometimes I'll use something like a recording of shamanic drums or ocean sounds or fetal heart rhythms in the mother's utero, and these are all rhythmic sounds, and there are also some of them are what's known as primordial sounds. They're really deep in our subconscious, in nature, in our being, and they resonate with us so well that we start to relax when we hear them. And then there's a whole nother phenomena which I'll explain in another episode, all about brain entrainment. So these beats will start to put the brain into a state of calm or it will start to resonate with the rhythm, and usually we have something like alpha or theta rhythm, which is a highly deeply relaxed state of being.

Maniisha :

So I actually make these audio tracks, or sometimes I get them from free off the YouTube. There's some good ones if you search around. But one of my pet passions of the last few years is actually producing these audio files or audio recordings, and you can layer them with lots of different things, including self suggestions. So anyway, that's a free method. I need to tell you that in the coming months I'm going to be actually offering a course which will teach people how to make their own audio effective audio with these different layers that can be used for brain entrainment, for deep relaxation, for sleep and also for self hypnosis. So I'll keep you tuned about that when that comes up. So let's have a look at what the benefits of doing audio tracks like this might be, so one you can make them yourself or get them free on the YouTube.

Maniisha :

They can also be used on a daily basis at home, so it's good for self treatment. The audios can be played subtly in the background in your clinic or in your waiting room, so people don't even know that it's going on, but already they're starting to get calmed down. It can be combined with self hypnotic suggestions, which is a very powerful method, and it's very effective. Hearing these sounds it's very effective to slow the mind down. Some of the cons about this method is it's only audio and I shouldn't say only audio, because audio is very powerful, but what I mean by that is there are no pulsing colors that are affecting our brain and our state of mood, so it's based only on audio. It's ideal for home use. It's ideal for being played in the background of your clinic or home. I use them a lot in combination with audio visual brain entrainment devices, which I'll talk about in a little while. Okay, the low cost devices. Some of these devices I'll be mentioning in different currencies depending where they're from.

Maniisha :

So I have a vibration massager and it's called the Graemes massager. It's Australian and it's very affordable. It has good research behind it and it feels wonderful. Now. There's no color, there's no sound pulsations, but there's definitely physical vibrations mechanical I shouldn't say mechanical, but it's kinesthetic. It's like a massage and this is very relaxing. It's around $100 to give you an idea how much it is. So the pros is they are great for muscle tension, for easing muscle tension. One of the cons is it's sometimes hard to give to yourself, particularly in areas on the back, which is an area where we often need this vibration massage. It's also a little bit hard to relax unless someone's doing it for you, and it's, of course, limited to touch only or touch vibrations. There's no sound or light, but it's ideal for preparatory work, for massage or acupuncture or for chiropractic or osteopathic work. It can be fantastic. Even just doing five minutes is very helpful to bring the person into a very calm state of being.

Maniisha :

Hi there, I just wanted to briefly share some very exciting news with you. I have developed a six week online course called Deep Brain Retrain, which comes live early next year. This course is designed to help you free yourself from old limiting belief patterns and also to help you unlock your fuller, greater potential. You'll be learning topics like understanding brain waves, how they connect to certain mind states, how you can actually influence your mind using brain entrainment and identifying and rewriting your own early beliefs, crafting personalized hypnotic scripts and, most importantly, you'll be creating your very own brain entrainment audio tracks using free software, binaural or isotonic beats, mixing primordial sounds, music and messages, so that you have a track which resonates specifically with you. You can register your interest in the link below the show notes. Below this podcast. I'll be offering a substantial discount to the first 10 people who enroll and I'll let you know when this offer and enrollment becomes live. So if this resonates with you, just pop your name down in the register your interest link below and I will be in touch. Okay, let's get on with the show.

Maniisha :

The next one in the low cost devices is something called the mini sensorsphere. It's a portable mood light which has frequencies and different programs embedded into it. It's available from sensor tech. By the way, I'll be giving links at the bottom of the show notes in this episode to the places where you can read up more about these. And, as it stands, to this state, these systems sell for around $215 US dollars. They're very beautiful. They're made in Canada by an expert, by a genius, who actually I call him a genius who worked for Cirque du Soleil. He has a real technical knowledge, he has a real inclination towards consciousness states and is very carefully designed.

Maniisha :

Different systems or programs within the mood light to help you either be energized or relax or to sleep. There's lots of different methods. They're fairly small. They're probably only about, I'd say, 15 centimeters diameter, so they're easy to send, easy to transport, easy to put in your home or in your clinic. So the pros for this mini sensor sphere. It's got many settings for individual mood states. It has gamma frequencies in there which not many devices use. It's a fairly recent discovery that gamma frequencies can actually entrain our brain to be fully focused, highly alert, learning well, good memory. We're doing a lot of experiments with gamma frequencies for people with dementia and they're getting very good results. So this may be applicable also for people, older people, whose memories are going.

Maniisha :

It's very attractive to look at, it's affordable. It can be used as a meditation device or assistant. In other words, you can just sit there in the darkness of a room and gaze at this light and it will very effectively put you into a very relaxed state of mind. It can be controlled by a phone app, so it's really quite modern and easy to use and it's one of those devices that you can have it going on in your room and people won't even realize that they're receiving a form of therapy, because it's so attractive and subtle that it's just a beautiful colored light pulsating away gently in the corner there, but in fact it's having a very strong effect on you.

Maniisha :

Now I want to mention here too, Anadi. The creator of this device, has also made two, actually three larger systems, so you don't have to buy just a mini sense of sphere. There are also larger ones that are 30, 40 or even 50 centimeters Don't quote me on those exact dimensions, but I'm talking approximate in diameter so you can have a really beautiful, like full moon type of globe sitting in your room which is just exquisite to look at. So the cons of this system is that it doesn't have sound, but the light itself is so powerful, so overrides that, and it's ideal for having sitting in a waiting room of a clinic. It's ideal for home use to create an ambient setting and it's also ideal to put into school rooms to help children feel calm and focused and quiet. So it's a great little device. I really love mine. I have a larger one and also a smaller one. The smaller one is very convenient to move around, the next one in the.

Maniisha :

I'm calling it a low cost device. It's called the mind alive. It's an audio visual brain entrainment. It's goggles and headphones. This device starts at around 350 US dollars just to give you an idea, and of course, this is approximate because prices may have changed by the time you're listening to this. So the mind alive is a system that is used for brain entrainment. I'm bringing up that term again and I'm introducing that idea to you and I will do a whole episode, as I said, on brain entrainment. So what it does? It puts out both colored light pulsations and also sound pulsations. It has the ability to be able to plug in another backing track audio backing track so you can put music with it. You can put auto suggestions like a type of self hypnosis script, so it can be combined with that Now.

Maniisha :

I love using my mind alive in the clinic when people are really stressed. I know that it's going to chill them out and calm them down very quickly, and I have some clients who just want to keep talking to me, even while I'm working with them. So what I do sometimes is I'll put the acupuncture needles in where they need to be and then I'll put the headset and the goggles on the mind alive system, I'll turn it on and usually put it on for about there's a 22 minute program, which is ideal and then I walk out of the room and I just let them do the work. I let the device, the pulsations, do the work with the needles and invariably they come out of the experience feeling really clear, calm, relaxed, and of course the acupuncture needles have a better effect on the flow of Qi if the person's relaxed. So it's a great combination to use for that. So the pros of the mind alive system it's very quick, acting to relax and also to slow the breathing and heart rates. It only takes, I think, three to four minutes they've measured it and then the breathing is noticeably different, the heart rate is noticeably different. So it's very, very effective. You can use the system in combination with auto suggestions. As I said, and I love doing that I love programming my mind with different ideas so my subconscious mind can open up and take them on. So this is perfect device for that. It's affordable.

Maniisha :

There's a large range of research data on this system. The inventor of this system, Da Seiver I'm hoping to get him onto a podcast at some time he has invested a lot of time into researching the effects of this system on all sorts of different conditions, including going to the dentist and pain relief, including studying dementia, anxiety, depression. So there's a whole pile of different conditions that he's invested in doing really decent research into and that's available for people to look at to validate, basically, the effects. Another thing that's a pro for the mind alive. I don't know if any of you have heard of the cranio-electro system. It's basically using a very, very small current they call it a microcurrent and what some systems do? They have clips, one clip that goes on one ear and another clip on the other ear, and it sends a very, very minute microcurrent through from one ear to the other and travelling via the base of the brain and what this does. It has an additional effect in really calming the mind and the nervous system. It's fantastic for people who can't sleep, fantastic for people who are stressed or who have anxiety. So some of his higher end devices you'll probably be paying a little bit more for a pro model they also have the cranio-electro stimulation, which works in combination with the lights and the sounds. So you've got a really quite complete system there. Okay, and of course, the other pro is that it is very effective for a wide array of different mood imbalances and even brain disorders such as traumatic brain injuries. He's done a lot of research on that and Alzheimer's conditions. So they're the pros and the cons.

Maniisha :

For the mind alive is that some people just don't like the flashing lights, and that's fair enough. There is a setting on the device which allows you to put the flashing lights at an absolute minimum, so it's barely visible and of course, the eyes are closed when you're experiencing one of these systems, but still, some people just don't like the flashing lights and that's fair enough. Call. And the other con about this system is that there needs to be care with people with epilepsy. There's a small percentage of people who suffer from epilepsy, who can be triggered by pulsing lights, so if there's a history of that there, it's probably best to avoid using this system with them. So the mind alive is ideal for self-hypnosis if you want to put yourself into a very deep, effective self hypnotic state, it's great for that. It's great for home use. If you can't get in to see a practitioner or a therapist, people can use it at home or they can use it in between sessions going to a therapist. So it's good to keep the momentum going by using advice like this at home. And the other ideal situation is using it in the clinic with acupuncture, reflexology, any other type of physical, hands-on methods, because it will invariably relax the body and the mind very quickly.

Maniisha :

Okay, so let's go to the mid range of devices. I'd love to be able to give you all an experience on all of these devices, because talking about them really doesn't do any justice for them. It's an experiential thing that once you know what it's like to be under those lights or in that system, you can really understand the benefits. However, I'm giving it a go here to share with you. So the next one is called the Photon Stimulator, and this sells for approximately $1,500 to $1,900.

Maniisha :

At the time of recording what the Photon Stimulator is, again, it's a pulsing light system with a cable, a fiber optic cable, with a little tip at the end. It can sometimes have a crystal on it or it can just be a free end. It's ideal to use as a form of colour puncture or auricular puncture. So auricular systems is a system where we stimulate key points in the ear, and the ear is just so chock-a-block with so many nerves that connect us up to the parasympathetic autonomic nervous system that it's very, very effective in helping people relax very quickly. The auricular system is often used for helping people with substance dependencies, addictions, also for nervous PTSD, so it's a simple treatment method that I'd love people to learn more about.

Maniisha :

The auricular therapy system. So this Photon Stimulator. It also puts out a pulsating sound, so it has a sound and a light which correlates with each other and you're actually putting the fiber optic cable onto the body or the ear wherever it's necessary to stimulate those parts or those acupuncture reflex points. Note, the pros of this system is that you can actually choose between an LED or a xenon globe. Xenon is a noble gas. I love xenon lights. They have just a more pure light. In my opinion. Another pro is that it has a wide range of colors to choose from the creator of this, based on the Dinshah colors, and of course, each color has a specific effect. There's supportive guidebooks that go along with this Photon Stimulator, which are very helpful. They give formulas and ways to use it.

Maniisha :

It can be used for Syntonics, which is a form of behavioral optometry. It can be used for colour puncture and auricular acupuncture or therapy, so the pulsing sounds give a really deep relaxing effect. I notice that people can sometimes even fall asleep when I use this on their body. It only takes a couple of minutes and their brain hears and sees this flashing or pulsating light, so they very quickly calm down. And, of course, the other benefit about this is it's got both sound and light. One of the cons is that you really do probably need to learn some basic acupuncture points to use it more effectively. So I would suggest this device would be ideal for acupuncturists or color therapists, ideal tool for auricular therapists that's working on the ear, and it's also ideal to do in conjunction with other treatments to make them more effective. And it can also be used, of course, before you start working on a person to help relax the person.

Maniisha :

Okay, finally, I've just got two more which are in the high range, and some of you may be interested in this. I'm not sure, but I can definitely vouch for them. They're just fantastic systems. So I use the monochrome dome, which was invented by Karl Rberg in Sweden. It's a beautiful dome structure that fits over the face. If you were to look at it, you would think that you're actually inside one of those big old fashioned hairdryer domes that sit over your hair and head. But it sits right over the face and you lay there and it's really only a 10 minute session.

Maniisha :

But the colors are monochromatic, and monochromatic basically means it's got a very narrow band wavelength. So in other words, the colors are very pure. They're very beautiful and very pure and the person who's in this session can actually choose what colors they use and they can move the colors from one color to another. So it's ideal for a really enjoyable experience. Some of the pros is that it's visually stunning and very enjoyable, and the pros is that it's just short 10 minute sessions. The other pro, of course, is that the client can choose their own colors. Often the client knows best it's an inner feeling or reaction to certain colors that they'll know what's right for them. Sometimes the client doesn't even know that they're getting therapy, because it's such a beautiful, relaxing, enjoyable experience. It's very effective in quickly quietening a busy mind.

Maniisha :

So I've used this system again and again. I do have a whole other episode on this system which I recorded somewhere at the beginning of my I'm pretty sure, my first season, and I'll put a link to it at the bottom of the show notes so that if you want to find out more about this system, you can. It's very good for low moods, in other words, people who are struggling with depression or mild depression. The colors are so beautiful and bright. It activates all types of neurotransmitters in our brain to make us feel more uplifted, and it's very, very high quality, very well made, and I can really vouch for this one. One of the cons is that it's relatively expensive. Of course, it sells for around 10,000 euros and don't quote me on that. I think that that's correct. But again, I'll give you a link at the bottom of the show notes where you can find out more. The other con is that it's fairly fragile to ship or to move around. However, great care is taken when it's shipped out to people all over the world, so you don't need to worry about that. It's ideal for powerfully calming people prior to giving a different therapy session and it's, of course, ideal for a clinic room situation.

Maniisha :

Now my final, my final love and great recommendation for a system is called the Sensora. It's also the same inventor that made the mini Sensora lights and the medium sized Sensora lights, and Anadi a, the creator, has made a full room system with surround sound, with a massage chair in the middle of the room which reclines and vibrates. It sends transducing vibrations into your body, into your body tissues, so that's very relaxing. The sound is exquisite, it's very high quality. And then, of course, there's a huge screen which lays above the visual field while you are laying down, which has almost like a play or a show of moving colors, sweeping colors, pulsing colors, just exquisite colors. So it's really like you're in a little cinema and you're experiencing a highly enjoyable, beautiful experience.

Maniisha :

Again, there's some research on the benefits of using this system for PTSD, for anxiety and a whole other pile of nervous and mood disorders. So invariably, when I put people in my system and I'm very, very fortunate that I do have one of these systems people calm down very quickly. They come out completely different to how they were when they first went in, and it always puts a smile on my face and a bit of a warm glow in my heart to see what this system has done for people it's for. Usually it can be 20 to 40 minutes for a session. So some of the pros about this system is that it's totally immersive and it's a totally enjoyable experience.

Maniisha :

It's a stand-alone therapy. It quietens a busy mind or uplifts a low mood, so it can do either and both. It's highly effective and it's very high quality sound, light and transducer vibration equipment. The cons is that it's expensive and the other con is that it needs a dedicated room to house the system, so you do need plenty of space for it. It's ideal for a wellness clinic or centre and, of course, in a natural health clinic where you may want to do other things, such as float tanks and massages or any type of therapeutic work to help people ease their moods and calm their mind and put them all into a balanced state. So I hope I didn't overwhelm you with too much information there, but I'll just quickly go through them again.

Maniisha :

To revise We've got the freebies, which I love, which are the audio recordings. We've got the low cost devices, which is a vibration massager, and also we have the mini sensor sphere mood light and we also have the mind alive, that's the brain entrainment goggles and head zones. Then in the mid range we have the photon stimulator, particularly good for acupuncturists, and then we have the high range, the monochrome dome with the monochromatic pure colours, and then the sensora multi-sensorial therapy. So with that I'll leave it with you and please do have a bit of a search around and see if you want to dive into any of these areas. And if you live in the Perth Western Australia area, I invite you to come to my little clinic. You can send me a message and email and I can put you through one of these systems so that you can see for yourself how you can benefit from it.

Maniisha :

Okay, that's it for now. All the best and bye for now. You've been listening to Mini Chablonshly on limbic light podcasts.
