Speaker 1:

Welcome to the Emic Light podcast, season 3. In this season, we'll be diving deep into the marvels of our subconscious mind light, sound brainwave, entrainment and so many other natural ways to help you become clearer, calmer and more potent in being. I've titled this season Deep Brain Retrain. I'm Manisha Blunchley, your host, with more than 40 years experience in the natural health field, ready to share with you my very best tips. Let's get on with the show. Hi there everyone.

Speaker 1:

I thought I would do a slightly different approach today on our podcast. I wanted to share with you one of my favorite teachers. I call him a teacher or he's also an author. I read his books and I wanted to share his works with you, to give you a little taste, because I find it incredibly inspiring and helpful with his teachings, and I mentioned in a previous episode, when I spoke about my 10 top tips, that I do virtually every morning to create a fantastic day, that I read a short snippet out of this particular book. It's called you Can have an Amazing Life in 60 Days. I know it's a maybe a bit of a corny title, but I tell you it's awesome.

Speaker 1:

I do think that there's great value in reading the works from people who are very inspiring to you. It's one of the laws of life that if you associate with people who you find help you lift yourself up a notch, inspire you, make you enthusiastic, bring worthy information to you that is helpful, then you can progress and advance forward in step by step. If we hold the company of people who tend to be critical and negative and naysayers who pull us down, it's very hard for us to progress in our life. So before I introduce you to some of Di Martini's works, I'd like you just to think about the main people who you associate with, who you spend most of your time with, and without being critical, just being objective Never think about how much they encourage you and inspire you or how much they discourage you or say it's not possible or are not interested in what you're pursuing. So have a little bit of a think of that and then, when you've done that, maybe you can think about some people in your life who you would love to hang out with, people who you think could have a beneficial effect on your mind, state almost as if their attitudes can rub off onto you. So make a list of some people, and these people don't need to be people that you necessarily know on a physical, personal level. It may be famous people who are producing fantastic works. So Dr John DiMartini is one of those people for me. He inspires me and when I study his works and his words of wisdom, it invariably brings me up a few notches every day. So have a think about that. That's why I wanted to share his work with you today. It may be someone that you'd like to check out if you haven't already, if you don't know of him already. Okay.

Speaker 1:

So Dr John DiMartini, he has an interesting story. He was actually born with deformities, physical deformities. He was told by his teachers that he would never be able to read well or write well and, of course, when we're young, we believe what we're told, especially when it's repetitively. So John didn't actually have that much hope for himself until he went to live in Hawaii still as a teenager. Quite young, he had a near death experience, and then he met an elderly gentleman who acted as a mentor to him. He was actually in his nineties and he inspired John to do really what he wanted to do, to shoot for the stars, so to speak, and go for his goals, and his goal was to become a philosopher and a public speaker who would travel the world and deliver his messages of transformation and inspiration to the world. Now, he had a long way to go in those teenage years to get there, but he applied himself and, bit by bit, he put himself through education, discipline, reading, reading and reading, and he is now a very famous author and public speaker and he's written many books. He holds personal transformation workshops or events, which helps thousands of people worldwide. He's quite well known. So there's an example of somebody who has stretched himself beyond what he was told he was capable of doing. He became a chiropractor and he also taught himself. He also taught himself the science and the application of dentistry, even though he didn't attend formal education for this. He read all the textbooks and beyond in the field of dentistry and ended up lecturing, educating dentists. So he has a phenomenal mind. He's a multi-linguist and, yes, that's probably enough to give you an idea of Dr John Di Martini's story.

Speaker 1:

I'm just going to tell you a couple of the names of some of his books that he's written. He's written a huge amount, but some of the ones that I'd like to share with you are how to make one hell of a profit and still get to heaven. So John Di Martini studied the art of becoming wealthy. He applied these laws and principles to the point now that he's very, very well off, and he his aim was to teach some of those strategies to other people and let them know that they can actually become quite wealthy despite their background, belief system or where they've come from. So that's one book how to make a hell of a profit and still get to heaven. The other one which he's written, which I find fantastic I have it actually in my library and it's called the Breakthrough Experience, a revolutionary new approach to personal transformation. He's developed a specific formula or format or process, you could say, that helps people move through their past limitations, traumas and difficult background and change it, so it liberates them, frees them, basically from what's held them down. He does hold events on this particular process. However, I haven't actually attended one, though. I have gone through the process in a mini way through following the book, the instructions in his book, the Breakthrough Experience. I'll get into his special flavor, or special speciality, you could say, in his approach a little bit later on.

Speaker 1:

He's also written Count your Blessings, the Healing Power of Gratitude and Love, and the book that I have at the moment in my hand, which I read every morning. Only about a page and a half is called you Can have an Amazing Life in Just 60 Days. So it's a workbook and it's designed to read each day one law or one section, one principle, and to put it into action. And each law is written in a way that there's really only maybe a page and a half to describe what it's about, and following that there's a few words of power which he calls, which are really affirmations for helping us develop that law into and integrate that into our being. So he recommends to read these words of power seven times each. So that's what I do in the morning. So I just wanted to share. Maybe what I can do is read you the section that I read this morning the law. So there's 60 laws and I think I'm already onto my third or fourth round. So they're so pertinent and so great to integrate into our being. We can go over and over and still each time get something new as we read. So let me have a look and I'm going to read you day four and it's titled the Law of Blessings. So it's only a bit over a page, if that. So let's go.

Speaker 1:

A number of years ago, when I was visiting my dad, he asked son, how are things going? I replied well, I've expanded my office, so I had to pay the build out costs and taxes and right now I'm short of capital. I bought diamond rings for my wife and me, plus the new car, and we just went on a vacation to Hawaii and got a new house. A whole bunch of things are going on and it seems as if all's happening at once. With all this spending, we don't have as much cash as usual. I'm totally overwhelmed. My gums are bleeding and my eyes are itchy. Every part of me is stressed. He looked at me and chuckled son, that's not stress, that's blessings. What do you mean? I answered Okay, so your wife had to. He explained John, what you've accomplished in a short period of time is more than I've done in 30 years. Your mother and I have never gone to Hawaii. We still haven't got diamond rings, we just have simple gold bands. You've got more diamonds than we do and, by the way, the idea of expanding your office is incredible the extra taxes and things. Just consider that a blessing, because it means you've earned some money.

Speaker 1:

He took every single thing I thought was a stressing, and he made them all blessings. I ended up with tears in my eyes because of his wisdom. I saw it one way, but he helped me to view everything in an entirely different light. I grew up hearing my mother talk about this law, but I'd gotten so caught up in my daily activities and affairs that I'd forgotten it From the time I was nearly four years old. As she was putting me to bed, she'd remind me son, count your blessings tonight, for those who do will have more to be grateful for and more opportunities in their lives than those who don't.

Speaker 1:

This simple teaching is so powerful that I wrote about it in detail in my book Count your Blessings. I can say without a doubt that if you take the time to notice and be grateful for what you do have, no matter what it feels like right now, your life will certainly change. Pause every single day to just stop and think of what you can give thanks for, and then record it in an ongoing list. I have an entire book containing only a long inventory of such wonders. Whenever I feel a little stressed, I open that volume and it changes my perspective. The law of blessings is one of the most powerful forces you'll ever have in your life. So be grateful and count your blessings every day. So that's the end of that law of blessings.

Speaker 1:

And then, as I said, he places a few words of power, their little statements, which can act as affirmations if we want to repeat them several times and plant them into our subconscious mind. So I'm just going to read once, slowly, each of his words of power for you now. I count my blessings daily. My life is a constant stream of blessings. The more I am grateful, the more I have to be grateful for. The more blessings I count, the more obstacles I mount. I am blessed and my blessings are infinite. Everything is a gift, thank you. So that just gives you a bit of an idea of the types of writings and work that he does. I wanted to share it with you and I thought well, I'll just read today's. I've already read it this morning, but it's such a potent law about being grateful.

Speaker 1:

Now, some of you might think when he says there are infinite blessings in my life and my whole day is a flow of blessings, I wanted to bring up the unique perspective that Dr John Di Martini brings to us. He teaches it in his breakthrough event and also in his book he has a very, very strong emphasis on the law of balance. He says that nothing exists in this world without its equal and opposite balance and whenever anyone has a crisis in their life or a difficult struggle in their life, he gets the person to turn the event around and search, search for the opposite which exists as a result of that experience. So I could give you an example. When I separated from the father of my two children 15 years ago, it was a very difficult situation for me. Now that I look back on that, it's a good more than 15 years ago.

Speaker 1:

I can see the blessings. I can see that at that turning point I originally had great stresses and worries and anxieties that would I be able to financially support my two children without the support from my partner? How would I go in life? I was old. Would I ever have another partner again? I wasn't that old now that I'm a little bit more advanced in years. But now I can see that as a result of that separation, I did so many things. I purchased an old house and I renovated it, and not personally me. I had helpers. I became independent. I started my own business working with acupuncture in the city. I did a business study course. I met a whole nother group of people who were involved in philosophical and metaphysical pursuits. I eventually did have another partner who was very compatible with me and who still is.

Speaker 1:

So as a result of that breakup, there were so many blessings hidden in that event and sometimes we forget to look and see what the blessing is in the crisis. So it's a great little exercise to do. D Martini does this. He actually says we need balance. It's also when we get too highly infatuated with someone or too rocky, you could say, over confident, then something happens in our life to bring us back down. So whenever something good happens in our life, we look for the opposite. Okay, this may be fantastic, but there may be some negatives to it too.

Speaker 1:

A lot of his teachings are really to help us find balance in life, to find the middle point, not to be extreme in thinking this is fantastic or this is terrible, but look for the opposites whenever we're polarized and by doing that process we realize that actually life is a long series of blessings, however they may be disguised. So we need to look for them actively and tell ourselves what they are, and then it opens up so many more doors to really being appreciative of what our experiences are and not being held back with our negative past traumatic conditions. D Martini does some amazing work with women who've been sexually abused, with some terrible situations. People who've lost their children have died, and he has such a good track record in helping them see and change their perspective to the situation so that they can move forward in life. It's quite phenomenal.

Speaker 1:

Anyway, I encourage you to maybe have a look at some of his works. He has a little thorough of free information on YouTube and blogs. I'll put the link to his website down below in the show notes so that you can actually have a look at his work and maybe you'll find something of value there for you.
