Speaker 1:

Welcome to Limbic Light Podcast Season 3. In this season, we'll be diving deep into the marvels of our subconscious mind light, sound, brainwave, entrainment and so many other natural ways to help you become clearer, calmer and more potent in being. I've titled this season Deep Brain Retrain. I'm Manisha Blunchley, your host, with more than 40 years experience in the natural health field, ready to share with you my very best tips. Let's get on with the show. Hello everyone, once again I'm here to talk to you about a topic which I had promised in a previous podcast to talk to you about, and that is brain entrainment what it is, the different types and how it can actually help you and your friends. So let's dive into this.

Speaker 1:

Brain entrainment is one of those methods that most people don't know about. When I mention I can help people with brain entrainment, most people look blankly at me and say what is that? Or they just glaze over, and I think that really there's not a great deal of information out there. Even though it's an extremely potent and powerful, effective method to change our states of being, it's not had the limelight or the recognition. So brain entrainment is actually a way to influence, or you could even say manipulate, the brain waves. Now why would that matter? Why would we actually want to be able to manipulate the brain waves? Well, you may have listened to one of my previous podcasts all about brain waves, and in that podcast, which I'll put the link to in the show notes in case you haven't heard it yet, we talk all about how we can influence our mind state, how we can influence all sorts of things Sleep study, how we interact and connect with people, how we speak, how we think, how we feel all through influencing our brain wave states. So our brain waves are so critical and important to our sense of well-being. So if we have a method that actually enables us to be able to change or manipulate or influence our brain wave states, then we're on to something wonderful, and this is what brain entrainment methods can do for us.

Speaker 1:

Now I'm just going to put a little penny in here, a little drop of an idea, and even though we say it's brain entrainment that we're dealing with manipulating and influencing the brain waves I'd like you just to think about the possibility that we can actually influence more than the brain waves. Our whole body is an electrical field, a bio-energetic entity, and there are so many different rhythms and pulses going on in our body Our heart rhythms, our cranial, sacral rhythms, our bowel rhythms, our digestive rhythms. There's so many different rhythms that are occurring in our body naturally, and often, when we get out of sync or in a state of you could say, disease, out of balance, many of these rhythms won't be in harmony, they're out of sorts, they're out of their regular, smooth, rhythmic functioning. So maybe some of these entrainment methods are not only applicable for our brain, but also for our nervous system, our heart, our digestion. So there's so much that we can explore how different pulses in our environment can influence our whole energetic and physical being, not only the brain. Okay, so let's have a look at brain entrainment, though. Why is it important? What are some of the things that it might be capable of doing for us? Well, the whole idea is to bring our brain waves back into a state of balance. So it's been shown by many of the more popular brain wave entraining methods that we can use this method for helping us to study better, academic achievements, getting better grades. It helps us sleep better, dropping off to sleep and staying asleep, feeling refreshed when we wake up. Brain entrainments also being used to help people stay calm, particularly when there's a lot of stress on or when we might be approaching something stressful like an exam or even a performance.

Speaker 1:

Brain waves can also help us be hypnotized more easily so that we can start reprogramming our mind to think and believe in different ways, and that's the whole premise of how hypnosis works. The brain entrainment is a fantastic adjunct to hypnosis. Brain entrainment can help us clear the brain from trauma. It's been used highly successfully for people who've had brain injuries and it's made their brain function in a way that doesn't allow it to produce certain types of brain waves that we need for our brain and mind health. It's also been used for dementia, for the many people who have aging brains and find that they're unable to think clearly or remember clearly. There's a whole pile of studies using different types of brainwaves, particularly the faster ones, such as Gamma, which I'll leave for a whole. Another episode can influence the sharpness of our mind, how we think, how we memorize, so it's very helpful for the aging population. So let's dive into looking at what brain entrainment actually is.

Speaker 1:

Some of you may already be familiar, but let me please explain to you. Okay, so there is a phenomena in nature, and you could say it's the phenomena of resonance or synchronization. When we have pulses in our environment or anywhere that are particularly strong, those strong pulses or rhythms will influence the less strong pulses. You could apply this to so many different things, but I'm going to give you a very simple example. For example, if you've got a very small child jumping on a large trampoline I take this example because we had a beautiful family visiting us yesterday we had some larger, heavier children and then we had some smaller children and there were a couple of them bouncing on the trampoline and, of course, the trampoline. When you're jumping up and down, you create a rhythm, a pulse. Now the larger children, the heavier children, are going to create bigger pulses or stronger pulses, and the little ones, who have less weight, they're prone to be influenced by that larger child's jumping rhythm. So the larger child's going to obviously create a jumping rhythm that the little child is going to get in sync with. The little child's going to start bouncing in rhythm with the larger, more influential, weighty child.

Speaker 1:

I hope this makes sense to you, but in any case, we have so many different rhythms. And another little example you could look at neutronomes that are used to help musicians stay in time and I'm pretty sure most of you have seen these short videos where you might put five metronomes all together in a row and one of them is going at a certain rhythm and all of them are actually going at different rhythms and within a very short time I think probably less than a minute you'll find that the metronomes start to synchronize, they start to pulsate in the same regular rhythm with each other, and it's such a phenomenon how that happens. You could even apply that to thought waves when we're around somebody, and I do think that thought waves are also a type of energy, a type of vibration. So when we're hanging out with certain people who might be talking, always negatively, about unhappy things and they're just unhappy people you'll find that that will influence your own state of being, your own emotions, your own thoughts and feelings, and vice versa. When you're hanging out with someone who's very upbeat and positive and in a state of love and gratitude and joyful and inspirational, that will naturally rub off onto you and it's possible that those thoughts and feelings are actually a type of wave, a vibration, which influences the environment, everyone around and everything around. So we're always influencing each other, but when it comes to brain entrainment. We're looking for larger, more influential pulses, which can then influence the less quieter pulses or rhythms of our brain waves. So, just talking about brain waves, our brain waves are just that they are electrical waves, they are energy, pulsing energy, and so the brain waves, as I mentioned, are also very susceptible to be able to resonate to external pulsing rhythms. So how do we actually create these external rhythms that can influence our brain waves?

Speaker 1:

Well, as far as I'm aware of, there's three major types that are used in a therapeutic method, and they include audio, that is, sound, light and kinesthetic. Kinesthetic just means touch, it's vibrational touch, something that you can feel through your skin. So they're the three ways. Now, each of those methods are currently being used by different therapeutic devices to be able to influence our nervous system and our brain. But which ones are the strongest?

Speaker 1:

Well, in my research, I've found that many people say that light is the strongest of all those three influences, and this is so because 70% of the information that enters into our brain comes from light. When you look at our brain, a very, very large part of the brain is geared up just to receive light impulses, light information. So you could say that a larger part of our brain is being influenced by light. I'm just going to give you a little example of how light can actually influence our nervous system and I'm pretty sure you're all aware of or have heard of warnings that sometimes in discos and dances where there's been strobe lighting very fast, flickering lights Some people who are prone to have epilepsy can be triggered by these strobe lighting and they can go into a fit. And this is because the light is pulsing at a certain rhythm, usually quite fast, and it elicits like a resonance type of effect in their whole nervous system and brain so that it's overwired, it's over triggered and that goes into an epileptic fit if that is their predisposition. So light can definitely influence how our brain works and what it does.

Speaker 1:

The second one, audio, which is the sound, is also a very strong way to influence the brain. There's been several different methods, therapeutic methods, that have used sound just alone to be able to influence our brain. So one of them is the popular area of binaural beats, and I'm pretty sure you've all heard about that. In fact, I'm going to be talking about binaural beats in a subsequent coming up episode all about these. So binaural beats is basically a pulsation that the brain perceives and hears. And the second method is a type of hypnotic method created by the silver family. It's called the silver method and it was devised as a type of self hypnosis method, which was wonderful. We actually have a whole pile of audio recordings of the silver method the very original ones, which were done last century, quite a while ago. But one of the characteristic things that the silver method used they worked this out quite a long time ago is that they use pulsing sound. It's like a, a certain frequency, because they knew that that pulsing frequency sound would put the brain rather quickly into a state of hypnosis. So there's another example of sound being used to influence the brain.

Speaker 1:

Hi there, I just wanted to briefly share some very exciting news with you. I have developed a six week online course called Deep Brain Retrain, which comes live early next year. This course is designed to help you free yourself from old limiting belief patterns and also to help you unlock your fuller, greater potential. You'll be learning topics like understanding brain waves, how they connect to certain mind states, how you can actually influence your mind using brain entrainment, and identifying and rewriting your own early beliefs, crafting personalized hypnotic scripts and, most importantly, you'll be creating your very own brain entrainment audio tracks using free software, binaural or isotonic beats, mixing primordial sounds, music and messages, so that you have a track which resonates specifically with you. You can register your interest in the link below the show notes. Below this podcast, I'll be offering a substantial discount to the first 10 people who enroll and I'll let you know when this offer and enrollment becomes live. So if this resonates with you, just pop your name down in the register your interest link below and I will be in touch. Okay, let's get on with the show.

Speaker 1:

The third method that I mentioned, which is the kinesthetic method of influencing the brain and the nervous system, is all about touch and vibration through the skin into the body and of course, we know that the bones and certain fibrous tissue in our body has the ability to act like a semiconductor. It works to conduct these vibrations almost like a type of very small electricity throughout our whole body. So kinesthetic definitely does work. So some of you might be familiar with transducers. Transducers are a type of speaker that transmits sounds, but not only sounds. It allows the sound vibrations to travel through different material. You could put it on a table and the whole table will start to vibrate and put out that sound. You can put it on your body and your body will actually act as a speaker, as a conductor of those sound waves. When you take that speaker off the body or off the material, you actually can't hear it. It's such a fascinating thing, these vibration sound waves that can travel kinesthetically through material.

Speaker 1:

I'm familiar with a few different methods or devices, you could say, that uses this vibrational kinesthetic effect to help healing. One of them is a method which is called the Apollo Stress Relief Wearable Device. One of my friends introduced this to me not so long ago, and she struggles a lot with chronic pain and, as a result, her nervous system is overwired and has trouble relaxing fully, and so it's as if her body's always in a state of fight and flight. She ordered in this product, which has a lot of research backing it. It was developed by inventors with PhDs in their area and it's basically a little wrist band. You could say it's like a little watch that you wear around your wrist and it puts out gentle, low frequency, inaudible, in other words, you can't hear it Sound waves which act as a type of vibration. You can definitely feel it when you put it on your skin and she wears this for several hours a day, sometimes nearly all day, and she says that invariably it keeps her body and her mind in a state of calmness and ease so that she can manage those waves of pain and discomfort that she does have. So that is just a case of vibration on the body.

Speaker 1:

There's another device which I am familiar with and it's one of my favorite inventors in Canada, anadi Martel. He devised the Sensora system, which some of you may have heard me talk about this before In fact, I have two interviews with him earlier on at the beginning of my journey with the Limbic Light podcasts and he devised a beautiful little hand tool that you can put your hand, like a semi-rounded shape that you can put your hands on top of, and they vibrate very gently Also, this low frequency, inaudible waves, and through the hands, and of course, the hands have so many sensitive nerves in them. So we feel these vibrations really rather strongly through our hands and it travels through our body, through our entire body, and it's quite incredible to think that just putting your hand on a vibrating little shape can influence how our nervous system is, how our mind is, how our brain waves are affected. So there's some of the methods that you can use brain entrainment there's sound, there's light and there's kinesthetic vibration. So you might be asking, well, which one of these are the most effective. And, as I said, probably the light method is the most effective. However, they are all effective in their own rights in different situations. If you think about combining two or more of these methods, so, for example, the sound and the light, or the vibration plus the sound, together, you'll get a far more superior effect.

Speaker 1:

And I do use a particular device called the Mind Alive, the David Delight, and also the Sensora, which I think you might all have heard about before, which does make use of two or more of these sensations to induce a very strong brain entrainment effect. I had one client who really was always anxious and virtually nothing would work for her, or if it did, it just worked for a very short time and then the effect would disappear. The first time I put her on to the Mind Alive, the audio and visual brain entrainment device that I was just talking about, she had amazing results. She felt calm and quiet and clear and she was eager to experience more, so much so that they decided to actually buy one of the devices so that they could use for themselves at home. And another one of my clients who also usually came into my clinic, invariably stressed and talking a lot and difficult to calm down and usually in a state of angst or being upset. I would always aim to put the Mind Alive on her rather quickly and rather soon so that it would always every time bring her back down to a very calm, peaceful, balanced state of mind so that then we could discuss and work further with other therapies. So these techniques work. They work fast, they're very effective.

Speaker 1:

So you might be asking which brain waves do we use to influence which types of mind or brain states? Well, I want to refer you back to my podcast that I did all about brain waves. If you listen to that you'll get a real deep dive into the different types of frequencies or brain waves that can influence not only our mind states but also our physical well-being. So I'm not going to go into that deeply right now, but I'm just going to quickly skim over some of the more potent areas that you can use brain entrainment for. And I'll also say there's some great research that's been done on the Mind Alive website. I'll put the link to it at the bottom of the show notes that you can read about, which will validate in your mind how useful these techniques are for these conditions. So let's have a look. We've got academic performance.

Speaker 1:

Invariably, students who use this technique can study better, they can focus better, they can study longer, they can recall information better and they get better grades. And this is providing, of course, that they use the technique regularly. It's not something you just use once off, but using it on a regular basis not only has immediate effects, but it has cumulative effects. In other words, it retrains your brain to be able to function and produce the brain waves that we need to be doing a certain type of function. So that's for academic performance.

Speaker 1:

People who struggle with ADHD generally they need lots of stimulation to be able to be focused. They need high-paced things, otherwise they fog out and what typically happens in their brain is that there's too much theta and alpha brain waves and they actually need more of the faster brain waves and they actually have a problem reducing some of these faster brain waves. That's why some of the medication that they go on the Ritalin. They are stimulants and they help them to bring up their brain waves. So once again, this brain wave entrainment method is really useful for people who struggle with ADHD. If you know what type of brain wave you're missing out on or that you need, you can set your brain entraining device at that level.

Speaker 1:

Depression or load moods that's another area that's very helpful. And of course, here most people have the slower brain wave rates and it's hard for them to be uplifted, and in the more beta brain wave levels. So if a person struggles with chronic depression and they apply the brain entraining methods daily there's some very good research that validates it helps them to come out of their depression. So you can see here a pattern that you're not always needing to take pharmaceutical components and drugs to influence the brain. In fact, it could be debated that possibly these energetic medicines may be even more potent than the pharmaceutical chemical drugs.

Speaker 1:

It's also been shown that brain entrainment can help reduce the perception or the feeling of pain and what the brain entraining method does on a hormonal level. It actually helps the body to produce more endorphins and more serotonin. The endorphins help to block the perception of pain and the serotonin helps us feel more relaxation, the result of when those two chemicals start to generate naturally in our body, we're able to slightly disassociate, remove ourselves from the pain so that we're not deeply entrenched in it, so we're no longer feeling the pain as intensely as before. There's some fantastic studies showing how migraine sufferers can be helped by brain entrainment. I'm across a fantastic article written on Dave Siever's website he is the creator of the audiovisual brain entrainment devices, the David Delight and also read a fantastic little testimonial from somebody from the Mind Alive website, and the Mind Alive, as I discussed before, is the creators of these fantastic audiovisual brain entrainment methods that I mentioned earlier and in this particular testimonial I thought I might actually read it out to you because it's so impressive. There's lots of testimonials, lots of articles, lots of research references on that particular website, so you might be interested to have a look at that. So this is from a gentleman in New York in 2020.

Speaker 1:

I bought my David Delight Pro back in 2014. I own a business and, as it comes with the territory, I have lots of stress. During 2014 and 15, I regularly used my David device. My profits more than doubled that year and I was happy doing it. I also wrote two books and this device really helped change my outlook on life, as is typical with many habits. My David habit was replaced by other demands in my life and it showed more stress and less success. And then 2020 happened, so I decided to take myself seriously again. I started to use my David Delight Pro and get my other habits organised to help me focus. Despite the insanity of this year, things are going pretty well. On a final note, I got the gamma session upgrades and all I can say is wow. I literally walked around after my first session saying wow, I'm guessing I was a little tense before starting, but 30 minutes later, a total new perspective. So I really enjoyed reading that little testimonial. There's so many out there and I've got a treat for you.

Speaker 1:

Next week, I'll be interviewing the creator of Mind Alive, dave Siever, in a fantastic interview that we did together and I think you'll really enjoy it. He has a lot to share, a lot of knowledge. In fact, I would probably call him the most authoritative person in the field of research and development in brain entrainment, so I really urge you to listen to that great interview. Now I just want to finish this on empowering you, giving you some little tips on how you might be able to use some of these brain entrainment methods Without necessarily needing to spend money. The first one is that I want to remind you how potent nature really is. Nature provides so many healing tools for us.

Speaker 1:

But I just wanted to point out too, when it comes to audio brain entrainment. If you listen to the sound of raindrops or the sound of ocean waves or the sound of gentle water lapping up and down on the side of a lake, you'll realise that they have a brain entraining effect on you and it will influence your mind state in such a beautiful, amazing way. So they're really simple audio methods to entrain your own brain. And I also wanted to mention, in case you don't know already, I have developed a wonderful course which is only weeks away to being launched, and in this course, I'll be training people, teaching them step by step, how to develop their own individualised audio brain entrainment with self hypnotic methods, audio tracks, using just sound. I'm really excited to offer this to all the people out there, and it will be available only for a limited period of time, and I'm going to reach out to you all quite soon with a special offer just for the first 10 people who enrol in this. So that's something to watch out for.

Speaker 1:

Okay, with that I'm going to leave you. I hope you're all well. I hope you've had a beautiful start to your new year and a beautiful Christmas and hopefully you're riding the waves of relaxation, still having some beautiful holiday vibes coursing through your entire being. So with that, I love you and leave you and wish you well. All the best. Bye for now. You've been listening to Mini Chablonshly on Limbic Light Podcasts.
