Anthony Hartcher:

Welcome back to another episode of me and my health up. I'm your host, Anthony Hartcher. I'm a clinical nutritionist and lifestyle medicine specialist. The purpose of this podcast is to enhance and enlighten your well being. And today, you have me doing just that for you. It's going to be a short episode short and sweet, however, to the point. So we're talking about pushing the limits. And the reason why I brought up this subject is that my body has really noticed me pushing the limits over the years, and hence it gave me feedback. So I recently went in for a double hernia operation wasn't a pleasant thing to have to go and do, but obviously needed to be done. So it was for my years and years of training and working and pushing and pushing and pushing. And never really finding that balance, just really thinking I needed to push more, do more, achieve more. And I never really found the balance between doing and coming back, restoring, relaxing, and then being able to go forward in a much more thrival way. So as Dr. John Demartini states, that maximum growth occurs at the border of challenge and support. Essentially, I was out of balance there too much challenge, not enough support. And my body showed me the symptom that, hey, you haven't supported me enough during the years of the last 46 years. Hence, this is a feedback mechanism to let you know that you need to pursue more balance. And absolutely, I've really taken that on board. Over the last few years, I've certainly embraced a more balanced approach to health and well being. So this really gets to the topic of extremism, or fads, where you're just pushing the limit, you're pushing the 16 and eight, so you're always got to do 16 and 8, 16 and 8, so healthy is so healthy. Well, yes, there is a you know, there is benefits of doing the 16 and eight. But is it healthy, long term? Is it causing you deficiencies or, obviously, feedback mechanism in terms of in social settings, you're not eating or you're not enjoying the, the embracing the moment with others by enjoying the food because you're under 16, and eight. So you need to find the balance. I am always looking for the balance between what I'm doing and adopting. It's important that you start looking in your life and finding balance there so that you don't end up with the same experience I had, your body will always give you feedback to let you know if you're going too far. And you want to take that feedback on board. I certainly did. I've learned my lesson. And I'm going to take a lot more moderate approach going forward. I'll still obviously exercise. But I'm not going to do extremism, and really push the body beyond the limits and not allow that support that it needs to recover and rejuvenate. So certainly, you need to you need to have challenge in your life. And you need to find the equivalent support in order for you to thrive. So you'll actually get better athletic performance when you find the balance between your training sessions and recovery. Once you find the optimal balance between your training and recovery, you'll get optimal performance in terms of outcome and results. So that's really the tip today. I'm just also wanting to update you that this podcast has really grown as a result of your interest. And I really thank you for you know, listening to my episodes, I spend a lot of time actually spend a day a week for each episode. So one full day, 10 hours a day, I do to just produce one episode. And as a result of that growth and your support. This starting to you probably notice some ads pop up. And yes, that's part of I guess the growth development in podcasting is that you get the opportunity to take on sponsorship and people wanting to advertise on your medium. And for me, I need to find that fair and equitable exchange just like I'm pushing the limits. I can't just give, give, give and not get anything in return. So having that little bit of return in support is helping me to thrive in terms of this channel and allow me to get more information more health education to you in a balanced way in a holistic way. Without it going under. Obviously I wear the cost of putting on this podcast I invest the time. I also got all the apparatus and all the subscriptions to be able to put this on and so having the advertising enables me to continue to part the knowledge get experts on And, and that way this, me and my health up continues to thrive. And we all win. So, yeah, the ads are just part of that journey. And I'm also starting a me and my health up club where you can subscribe for a short amount of small amount of money per month. And we go on a health and health journey together, essentially. So we're going to be embracing new aspects of health and well being integrate them into our lives, and as a community supporting one another through that development. And so it's going to be those one percenters, that incremental development that we do together on a journey and for longevity ultimately, and to stay in that space of good health and well being, and seeing us what we're doing as a proactive way to live a long healthy life, as opposed to the reactive experience I've had having to go through the hospital system and feeling disempowered and lack of control. I don't want that to happen again, to me, and I don't want it to happen to you. So let's join the me and my health up club. I'll have the link in the show notes. And we can go on this journey together where we educate one another, support one another, and implement and have that accountability towards one another to become healthier versions of ourselves. So that's it for this week. Thanks for tuning in for the short episode. Really appreciate you doing that. Take the time to not push the limits and find the balance in your life and live a thriving healthy, long, happy life. Thank you
