So as we smoothly transition to season 12, I would just like to say from the bottom of my heart, I'm so grateful for all those who tune in and download my episodes, it means so much to me. So thank you. Thank you. Thank you. So Happy New Year to you, dear listeners. And if you're listening to this podcast, and it isn't a new year, Happy New Day, Happy New evening, there's always new ways to kind of like, look at life through fresh eyes and a fresh outlook. And we're now at the beginning of season 12. And season 12 is all about how we can bring this new year excitement to our life, regardless of what time of year it is, we're going to work on cementing new habits, achievements, and a deeper level of self acceptance, as well as the inspiration to switch life around. Just a little fact, did you know that between nine and 12% of people keep their New Year's resolutions? So that's quite a low figure. And I really feel inspired to help you to help change that. What do we want to change this year? Or this day? Or this new evening? And how can we do it with more vigour, ease and momentum. So that's what I'm here to help. So I'm the gentle yoga warrior, and I'm beaming this podcast on a grey and miserable January day, it's the first week that many people are back to work. And collectively, that feels a bit of gloom and doom and gloom around the world at the moment. And you know, life is never always going to be plain sailing, there's going to be times when we think, oh, gosh, I wish there was more fun things to do. Or I wish I could do this than the other. When you're in a place like that, my biggest tip is to kind of see something that you're grateful for, you don't have to like everything about your day, you don't have to like everything about your situation, you don't have to like anything about it. But try and find at least one thing you're grateful for just one little thing. It sounds kinda a little bit simple, right? And or how's that gonna help. But it's always been a great source of help. throughout my day is when one day is haven't kind of gone as much as I would like them to go in, in the way I wanted them to. Because life isn't like that, we have to have a bit of yield and a bit of movement. So I'm beaming this message to you today. So the brand new season actually starts next week, but I wanted to kind of just get in there and just check in with everyone see how everyone's doing, and just offer some words of wisdom to kind of help you through your day week, whatever it is. And if there's ever any subjects that you would like me to cover, then I'll be so grateful if you could reach out to me by the gentle yoga warrior.com. And I'll do my best to accommodate that. I've also just launched my free 14 meditations in 40 days, it's where we all work together and work on a five minute meditation each day. So you'll get a recording each day, which you can work on, which will help you navigate through stress, anxiety, and that kind of feeling you get when you're feeling stuck creatively. It's also going to help promote better sleep. help with your general well being but don't just take my word for it. Have a go and see how it makes you feel. All that ask is that you kind of stick to it as much as you can daily. And if you miss a day, don't throw it all in, in a sense, kind of just start the next day. Okay, so that is what I'm wishing to offer you I got the inspiration because I recently went for a walk and I stumbled across the grave of King Arthur, you know, King offer the legend of the Sword and the Stone and the Knights of the roundtable. And it made me think what legends do I want to create this year? And what legends can my amazing podcast listeners and guests great and that's why I've got such an action packed amazing 2023 The guests are outstanding as always. And I always feel a great sense of grace and ease. Whenever I've had a guest on the show. I use the word ease because it what I mean by that is that they remind me each and every one of them reminds me of a way in which I can kind of like let go of all the things that I don't need to carry around with me like a new kind of emotional or mental ways of seeing the world. And also they always inspire me to do something that's just going to kind of help me navigate through life. And when I learned to get navigate better, then hence I enable others to navigate better. So this is a short one because it is the start of the end. I'm sure you're all quite busy. And even like I said, if you can listen to this, and it's not the start of the year, I'm sure you saw quite busy as well. But we're going to just do a very brief meditation and it was a meditation that I recorded as day. One of my cause to kind of help feel a little bit more simplistic joy in our lives make us feel grounded and help us navigate through things. And I'm so delighted to be starting this new year. But people asked me where my inspiration comes from life from my listeners from guests from just kind of being and remember, little actions each day add up to greatness. And that's not to say that everyone has to kind of strive to be anything different, really than what they are. But it's kind of changing the outlook that we see life. And then if we are making changes in ourself and in our life at the same time loving ourselves along the way. And I think that's so important. But I'm really keen to hear from you, dear listeners, what is your New Year's intentions or any intentions if you're not listening to this during the New Year? And what obstacles do you have, and I'll see if I can help. So now let's go into the meditation is only going to take five minutes of your time. So worth it. As promised, here is your meditation, inspired by today's show, top tips for the meditation is either sit nice and cross legged on the floor of a nice straight back, always nice to sit on a block or a cushion, or that's not available for you, you sit in a chair with the back nice and straight. The important thing is you're not slouching. And if you're doing something that requires concentration, or need to do is just pause this and you can reconvene the meditation at a time that is good for you. If you're doing the meditation, that's begging to place one

hand on the heart, one hand on the navel, and start to take some slow, calm deep breaths. And as you breathe, I want you to breathe in through the nostrils unless you've got a cold Of course. And as you breathe, you're going to feel as if the abdomen and so if you have the hands kind of love on the abdomen, you feel as you breathe through the nostrils, the abdomen expands so it's kind of pushing towards our hand. And then middle chest expands and then the upper chest expands. And even breathing into the armpits, the back so you kind of feel like you're expanding like your whole of your chest capacity is like

Unknown Speaker  7:26
a balloon. And as you exhale, everything comes out. Inhale, feel that breath expand. Exhale, feel that breath comes out. And as you breathe into this, I completely invite you to find a softness. So maybe you're not used to breathing with your full lung capacity. And that's okay.

Unknown Speaker  8:00
Try make the breath calm, deep and even. But with a deep sense of softness.

Unknown Speaker  8:09
And you have the eyes closed. And you just listen to the breath. That's all that you need to do. And allow the moments of silence in this meditation for long teaching the meditation.

Unknown Speaker  8:29
I do not feel the need to speak all the way through. But I am here to give you cues to come back to the meditation. So as you breathe, you feel the breath come in to the hands. And as you exhale, you feel the breath gone. And all I invite you to do is to borrow that breath to connect with that breath. And if thought pops into your mind, don't fight it. But know that you don't have to taste that but you don't have to be with that thought. The only thing that you need to be with now is observing the inhalation observing the exhalation. Inhale observe exhale, observation how's that Brexit comes in. How is that Brett? As it goes out. Any point your arms get to time By all means, you can rest them and just still observe the breath if not keep them where they are

Unknown Speaker  10:09
observe that inhalation observe that exhalation maybe there's external noises That's okay. They can be there. You are connected with the sovereign see of your breath, the breath that brings your lifeforce into the being slowly, calmly allowing yourself the beauty, the joy of the moment as you continue with that breathing in through the nostrils that ever present, ever beautiful your nervous system, oxygen rich blood that circulate in the body, that sense of presence and that sense of well being as you slowly now come back into the moment, come back into the room. Come back into the present moment. As you call open the eyes
