Also know me know that I like to get this podcast out on a Wednesday. I just like the rhythm of that. But my flight got delayed yesterday, and I got stuck on the paradise island of Madeira. And if you haven't seen it is absolutely fantastic place. It's got a kind of mystical magical feel to it all. Even though there's been people living there about 600 years, forgive me if I've got that figure wrong. And it's a really beautiful place and my flight got delayed. And then I tried to put my passport, they ran through one of those scanner things. And for some reason the scanner didn't pick the passport looked like me. So then I had to then queue up and see the very scary people that kind of like, let you in. And I was just like, gosh, just because a computer scanner didn't realise it was me. I then had to like queue up and wait and then ask questions. But it was, gosh of all a very, very tiring and kind of long thing. But thankfully, I am now at home today, trying to ease back in to life. And I also thought as I sat down to record this, I shouldn't kind of counted the weeks when I thought I could season 13 Spring margin me. Because we are now where I'm particularly in the start of summer, it may not be the case where you're listening to this. And just because I kind of liked his season, different podcasts does not mean that there is not riches and all of them. Anyway, as you can see, it's been a few weeks since I've recorded podcast. And I wanted to talk to you today about this magical place. And for each and every one of us that magical place can be very different. Like I got to spend some time with some prehistoric landscape of how the rest of Europe might have been millions of years ago, they had these ancient Laurel trees in Madeira. And the whole island has all these different, different climates. I think there's about four different climates depending on how high you go, and boy does this island go high. But anyway, at the top when these beautiful Laurel trees from this ancient woodland, I must say it's kind of I felt like for a moment I was on that TV series last which you may or may not know, not because it's anything scary, but it was just kind of so out of the kind of ordinary, I just felt that earthy richness of this immense peace as I was around these trees, and it kind of reminded me in so many ways that we kind of look externally for all these things to kind of fix and heal us. And of course, I'm looking at the trees and I was feeling all that kind of the scent of the area, the texture of the ground, etc. But I guess what I learned the most from these trees was to kind of go within and to kind of just be still and I kind of went in and was so still that I almost got left behind by the tour that I was in. It wasn't from my one foot partner coming to find me because I was just saying so in peace and if I had a way to get back, I would have stayed there but hence these trees were in the middle of nowhere and the weather can be quite changeable in this place. And it made me feel that to share with you dear listener is is there any particular place that you kind of like to go where you find that deep sense of inner peace? For some people it may be the outdoors only what may be a place indoors. But do you know where it is that you can go to where you feel this deepest sense of magic and this deepest To be in? And if so, how often do you allow yourself to be that? Like, I know someone who just loves textures of fabrics and house things. And for them, a great sense of peace and healing is to spend time around fabrics. And I think, Wow, isn't that fabulous? That they kind of know that about ourselves? And then they will they can then do that. And I wonder, do you know that about yourself? Where is it that you kind of find the grit sense of inner calm, see, for me, it can be different, like if I want to be calm and find this kind of peace, or even inspirations while I go into nature. But if I only kind of get really creative, and it's a different sense of creativity, then I will kind of either read a book, or I will go to an art gallery or see all those kinds of different things. And it's kind of knowing that's about myself. So I invite you, dear listeners to go out and discover what it is that brings the magic back into your life. And I did have a bit of an advantage of a sense that I hadn't had a holiday abroad for like over seven years. And just by being in a new place, learning someone else's culture, the beauty of the place it has left me beaming, almost kind of overflowing with inspiration. And it is now or it will be next week. Yeah, free of the gentle yoga warriors conscious conversations, podcast, help you grow and discover who you are. And that's all everyone for you is to discover who you are. And by it kind of exploring what brings us magic and healing into our life, then that kind of opens that door of to us to finding ourselves even more as we kind of go through that journey. And I would like to hear from you, dear listener, on on what it is that you've done recently to do that. And also, if there's a specific thing that you would like us to cover in the show, then go to the gentle yoga warrior.com. So that's the gentle yoga warrior.com. And you can either send an email or leave a voicemail and your voicemail may be featured on the show. So isn't that fantastic? But we learn the most from each of us. That's why I really want would like to have a listener to share their journey so that I can kind of share it with other people. And by sharing and showing we inspire this kind of domino effect of personal growth and transformation. And everything that happened on my holiday is that I'm actual birthday, I want my partner on a trip to out see with the hope is seen wild dolphin. And I was just like, how's that going to have happen? After all, dolphins are wild and they kind of do what they want to do without it see for quite a few hours. And there's no sign of any dolphins but I kind of got to the point where it's so random for me, you know what, it doesn't matter if I don't see dolphins, it's I'm enjoying seeing this beautiful sea and the terrain behind me of this beautiful volcanic island. And then it's interesting the moment I surrendered, they have members of the crew with like binoculars like looking out, they spot something in the distance and that I really couldn't see in a scenario was spotted. And I'm thinking really. And then we got there and we kind of turned off the engine really kind of peaceful, and the dolphins came round. But you know what, they knew we were there, right? And they were kept swimming round. Like they're really quite social creatures. And I was just it was such a gift to see them in their natural habitat like swimming wild and free for someone that actually seen them actually kind of felt this immense sense of emotion like this kind of sense of I could have wept to be honest. But I thought actually, I'm going to look a bit silly on this. This book full of strangers have I kind of stopped weeping and it's not that I'm scared of crime from but it's more that I thought actually no, this is just personal to me. I don't need to kind of share how much of a gift and how much gratitude I had for seeing these wonderful, wonderful dolphins. And later when I saw the ancient Laurel trees, I felt this immense gratitude. And it wasn't like I was trying to put any of these things in a box of like, Ah, this is what I got from this. I just fell in love with my being like gratitude and It kind of switched my mindset around in even earlier on when I was kind of like adjusting to being in a busy city after being in this kind of idyllic paradise where all our meals are being made. People are there to clean my room, my my suite that I've seen in, I didn't have to

do anything other than kind of decide what I was going to wear for the day and where I was going to go, which is quite unusual for me because museum very, very busy anyway. But these trees, and these dolphins kind of really made it. And then also, I got to swim in this fantastic Natural Swimming pool that had been formed by many, many, many years ago, but a volcanic eruption that had made this Natural Swimming Pool. And by the sea, because the sea, I cut my leg trying to get into the sea, right, it was kind of like difficult, just because I'm quite small and the wind was blowing. And that is beautiful. The water was nice and warm, but I have a sensitive feet. And I managed to somehow cut the back of my shin when this wave came kind of crashing in. Because I was trying to avoid swimming. But anyway, this pool that I got to sit in was so soothing, and I just felt immense graduate of foot, you know what, of anything that I needed right now on this hot day and been seeing all these wonderful sights, but was to get into this natural swimming pool. And I just felt so supported. And that made me remember, or rather, I remembered earlier today when life was getting hectic, you know, what do the best you can, you know, you just got back from leave, do the best you can and kind of surrender. So I did. And really I had all these big plans of what I was going to achieve today and what I was going to get through, and I only got through a fraction of that. And I thought you know what, it's okay. try my best, I'm kind of coming back into this working mode from being on vacation mode. And you know what, it's absolutely fine. And then kind of all the burden, the weight kind of kind of let go and was gone.

Speaker 1  12:46
My question to you, dear listener is, is there any times where you feel like overwhelmed, and you've kind of CO observed yourself and just for actually, I'm going to let this go. And if there's any other ways that you kind of do that I'd really be interested in hearing from you. So as always, here is a meditation inspired by today's show. As promised, here is your meditation, inspired by today's show. Top Tips for the meditation is either sit nice and cross legged on the floor of a nice straight back. Always nice to sit on a block or a cushion, or that's not available for you. You sit in a chair with the back nice and straight. The important thing is you're not slouching and if you're doing something that requires you concentration are you to do is just pause this and you can reconvene the meditation at a time that is good for you if you're doing the meditation, that's begin. Gratitude can have many ways of showing us the beauty of life is it unfolds a tree as it blows the ocean as it glows with the moon. And starlet starlit sky. What beauty can you see? Even in the chaos of life sometimes without labels of what we do and don't like but rather seeking the gratitude the salience in that present moment to connect with your present moment right now, can you connect with your breath and just allow it to be as often as this may be repeated? It's simple as it can be. So often we forget this process of how to love and let it be when others may or Neuer so their ways may be different to us, or we may annoy others Can we instead just allow things to be just let it be. Let it be in a sense that you don't have to let it take over your day. But instead, stay true to yourself, have your say, but also just learn to let things be and free that you'll find freedom. As if you are a dolphin sailing through the sea, if you is if you are leaves blowing on an ancient laurel tree, hi, hi. Hi. So hi. That only those who venture that far get to see that there can be peace, harmony, beauty everywhere. And yet these beautiful dream trees find the magic within the chaos within the calm as these trees grow on a volcanic island which has been sleeping for many, many years. If they thought about the times, that the volcano might go off could go off. They could spend their life living in fear. Instead, they allow the moment to be calmness, peace, beauty and joy. Remembering. Life is always moving, but it doesn't mean that we can't find the stillness within. So thank you so much, dear listeners for taking the time to listen and support our show today.
