Embracing March's Transformative Energy: Growth, Renewal, and Meditation!
Feb 28, 2024 Season 15 Episode 8
The Gentle Yoga Warrior

As the seasons change, so do we, evolving with the vibrant energy of spring. Together, we'll traverse the landscape of setting purposeful intentions, celebrating the triumphs of enhanced social bonds, rejuvenated health routines, and spiritual awakenings. I'll also reveal my own journey, including the lessons learned from venturing into new territories like guest appearances on other podcasts, underscoring the richness that lies in stepping beyond our comfort zones.

March ushers in a time for planting the seeds of our aspirations and tending to them with the same devotion one would give to a blossoming garden. In the spirit of cultivation, I offer up a meditation—a peaceful interlude—to help you sync with nature's rhythm, laying the groundwork for a balanced and grounded approach to life's challenges. As we round the corner of the podcast's fourth year, I invite you to join in reflective gratitude for the growth we've shared and look ahead to cultivating a future ripe with potential. Listen in for an episode that promises to nourish your soul and spark a springtime rejuvenation of your very own.

Speaker 1:

Gosh, it's quite cold outside today. It has that crossover where it's kind of spring, is really kind of starting to overcome winter a bit, but there's still a bit of a dance where the cold wants to kind of still cling and spring wants to begin. So some days feel like spring or at least they do where I am and other days feel like they're kind of cold and we want to wrap up again and go within. So we've got through the planning stage of January. We've got through putting our first, implementing the starting things, the starting process of our plans in February, and now it's March and March has this real spring in its step and we can really start to implement things and get a bit deeper, get down to it all and get some more much stuff done and working.

Speaker 1:

With the season as I said, it gets cold still where I am, maybe we also wear nice and hot doesn't mean you can't implement these wonderful ideas. And to go a bit deeper in March, you kind of got to get into the feel of March. So, like I said, where you are it might be nice and warm. So whatever the feel and energy of what March normally is where you're living, that's what you need to tap into. I'm tapping into the lens from where I am and March feels about life, vibrancy, renewal, letting go, but not in the same ways, letting go in the autumn, the fall, when the leaves go, but kind of letting go Like you know how it's must take so much effort for, like a seed, to kind of break open its shell and come through the ground. And that's the stage you're at, which is not always comfortable. I get that it's not always the most comfortable stage to be in. But can you kind of stop really implementing? And I find sometimes, when one's at this stage, that we may feel like, oh, why aren't I seeing more fruits of my, my labors and I want things now, now, now. But this is still this bit where we've we've planted the seeds, but it's a little bit more into it. So it's kind of looking at the less you know that you did of the financial, the fun, the career thing, friends and family thing that you wanted to implement at this time of year. What processes can you now do to make it have a bit more oomph? So just say that you just started off your first part of your exercise routine, just an example. Could you then start going to an extra class, or if you're writing, could you add some more words to your word count, or if you're trying to go out with your friends, could you plan like a good day. So, and for financial things, have you managed to get some more clients? Or save, or think laterally and find ways to kind of get a bit more money coming away and using that energy of spring? Just think rather than burden, think of renewal and being and kind of that rich, lively self.

Speaker 1:

And as we come into March, if you want to reflect back on February and just think like what were the things that I achieved, like in social life, like friends and family, partners, etc. What fun things did I achieve? How did I improve my health in February? Was there some sort of kind of spiritual aspect? And spiritual is a very personal thing to you. So what is spirituality to you and did you manage to implement something that to kind of help your deeper connection with that?

Speaker 1:

And you may want to think like what are the best things that I achieved this month? Like, pick three things. And right, it doesn't have to be like massive things. It could be like oh, for so many days I managed to not eat junk food or for so many days I managed to sit down and get my head down and read a book. It can be things like that or, of course, it can be big things as well, like publish my first podcast, things like that. And if you are interested in publishing a podcast, if you go to my page there is a link and that will help you find out how you can publish your podcast.

Speaker 1:

Anyway, getting back to today's show, what's the most important things that you achieved? And also, without beating yourself up in the sense of like being too hard on yourself, what things do you think that you made mistakes on over the last month and how would you change them? And once you've done that process, you can then have like a way of kind of thinking actually, this is what I want to achieve in March. This is what the zest, the life, the vibrancy that I want to bring into the month of March and that awakening. So March is like a great big awakening month, a month of depth and beauty and joy and a depth of feeling like free and full of zest and vibrancy.

Speaker 1:

And if you may recall from the previous, the earlier episodes, especially the first one in the series this is series 15 as I speak, is that we sometimes set unrealistic expectations for ourselves and then wonder why we can't do them. March isn't about setting unexpected ideas or expectations, but it's kind of just pushing the boundaries a little bit. So you're kind of thinking, oh, maybe I'll do a bit more now, as I kind of as you are like this seed emerging from the ground and this vibrancy, this life can come into your every aspect of your world and your aspect of your being, and that is something that is beautiful, joyful and something that you can easily bring and I say easily because we're in spring or the early starts. I call it the cold spring because it's not warm spring yet, it's cold spring, so it can feel a bit harsh, but can you find ways to really tap into the land where you are at? So go for walks, connect with the nature, get to know about what nature is in your area.

Speaker 1:

This is a fun part of the work, but I feel it's just as essential as doing all the other stuff, and I can look at my list sometimes and feel overwhelmed and think how am I even going to do this, how am I even going to get there, and especially if I'm pushing myself out my comfort zone, like I'm going to be now guesting on other people's podcasts and I'm very comfortable in front of the mic and I've talked to all different people from all different parts of the world and it's been my real grace and joy. But I'm human and it's still pushing me outside the comfort zone because when I'm hosting the podcast I kind of have an idea what's going to unfold, where sometimes I think that unknown can make us feel a little bit nervous. But I think about it and what's the worst you can do? You might mess up, but then you just try again and it's not messing up, it's just a learning process. Or it might be that March feels like oh, I still feel like I want to be in that tiredy kind of wintery, slumbery way and March wants me to stop being alive. Why don't you balance that with by doing things but then also daring in time for that deep contemplation where you can sit and meditate, be with nature?

Speaker 1:

Because the thing is, I think, where people go wrong Is that they don't do enough to relax as well as doing things Like to change their life, and they both are equally important, because we get our inspiration when we step outside of a normal routine and do something a bit different and a bit more joyful and a bit more fun, and we accept the humanists of who we are. Because if we were meant to be like I've ever been exalted I've said this before we would, I feel, just kind of being like angelic energy. But instead we are here, in my opinion, to learn our lessons on in and in a way that to kind of Better and develop our soul as that part of our spirit that has come into our body to be in this wonderful life, regardless of all the horrible things that are going on, because there's many bad things going on in the world. I'm not kind of blindsided to all that, but at the same time let's try and look at all the good things, because sometimes we look so much at what's wrong, we don't look at what's right, and that's why it can feel like the cup is half empty and so the cup is half full. So what golden nuggets can you cultivate this month?

Speaker 1:

So I think March is about cultivation. You're kind of it's a month when we start to sort the summer seeds and the vegetables and the plants and we start to get our hands a bit more dirty, but we can bring that beautiful Energy of March into our life. And I really like to hear from you, dear listen, if you can tell me how you're doing that and if you've got a question that you would like featured on the show, even a specific show to help you answer a question. We at awakened conscious conversations podcast would like to help you do that. So if you just reach out to us by a info at shamanichealingsearth, and before I start gushing about how I've been doing this for nearly four years of four years in June, I just feel like it's been so beautiful and such a gift and and something to really cultivate. And, if anything, I feel, if my, my show was a season at the moment it's in March, so it's still quite in its infancy in the great scheme of things, but in many ways it's grown and I couldn't have done it without you.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so March is here, but maybe think I don't want to kind of pick up the pace. The key is not to get overwhelmed and the key is not to pick up the pace so much that you are burnt out again. I want to emphasize this, not about burning ourselves out. So, dear ones, here is a wonderful, simple, short bit sweet and there's some birds in the background, but I'm going to let them be on the recording because they're there, as promised. Here is your meditation inspired by today's show.

Speaker 1:

Top tips for the meditation is either sit nice and cross-legged on the floor with a nice straight back always nice to sit on a block or a cushion Well, that's not available for you. You sit in a chair with a back nice and straight. The important thing is you're not slouching, and if you're doing something that requires you concentration, all you need to do is just pause this and you can reconvene the meditation at a time that is good for you. If you're doing the meditation, let's begin. So, as you close the eyes, feel as if you are in tune with how beautifully, how elegantly and with how much love your body does breathe.

Speaker 1:

So, as you inhale, you feel as if the abdomen expands. And as you exhale, really feel as if the abdomen comes in, so in and out through the nostrils, this glorious flow of breath, breath that brings life into your body, breath that brings life into your being, breath which we sometimes don't always honour, in the sense that we may take shallow breaths, or we may kind of breathe too quickly, or we may kind of not observe our breath, and that's okay. The body is designed to breathe by itself, but when we connect with the breath like this, when we allow the slowness of the breath, that is where the magic happens. So begin to breathe kind of slower but deeper, but in a breath that's comfortable for you and your body and your unique body. You take responsibility, in the sense you breathe slowly and you exhale slowly.

Speaker 1:

Can you find that natural rhythm, that beautiful sound that you sometimes get of water when it gently laps up against the shore? That is the breath that you can have, no matter what overwhelms you in your everyday life. Tap into this flow. The birds behind me are in their flow, the plants beside me are in their flow. You, wherever you're listening to this, whatever time, what day, what, every moment, whatever moment you are in your flow, own it, allow it and be so. I'm just going to be quiet for the next few minutes. I just want you to breathe in a way that's nice, calm and nurturing for you, and if your mind starts to wander, all you need to do is bring it back to the breath. And now, as you slowly come back into the moment, come back into the room. Know that your best tool is to breathe with consciousness as you navigate this wonderful but sometimes difficult life, remembering to focus on what is good Whenever you see too much of what is bad, and try to refrain from labels. Things are, things are, you are, we are. Thank you.
