The Gentle Yoga Warrior Season 17 Episode 11

Send us a text

Experiencing an unexpected encounter with a robin transformed my perspective on the connection between nature and spirituality, igniting a deeper reflection on the cycles of life. Join me, the Gentle Yoga Warrior, as I share this personal story that prompted a journey into understanding the persistence of the soul beyond our earthly existence. As we tackle the challenges of societal pressures and personal loss, especially during the holiday season, I reveal insights on recognising signs from the universe that guide us in maintaining focus on our personal goals. This episode is dedicated to uplifting women, encouraging them to prioritise their well-being amidst life's hectic interruptions.

The second part of our journey embarks on a meditative exploration of healing energy and visualisation. Picture yourself in a serene, crystal-laden cave, connecting deeply with the grounding energy of the earth and the expansive energy of the sky. As we breathe through the energetic heart we practice sending love and healing to ourselves and others, embracing the balance of giving and receiving in the universe. This transformative practice not only fosters personal positivity but also contributes to global healing. By the end, you’ll be empowered to face life’s challenges with renewed strength and an open heart, carrying the intention to share joy and healing with the world.

Speaker 1:

Good morning everybody, or good afternoon or good evening, and welcome to this edition of Awakened Conscious Conversations podcast. As always, I'm your host, the Gentle Yoga Warrior, and we have done this season guest free. I've really enjoyed these one-to-one sessions with yourself. In case you didn't know, I follow a fairly shamanic path. The shamanism that was from the UK. I can't comment on shamanism elsewhere as I've not really studied it, but I have studied the shamanism from the UK and I have always had this fascinatingly deep connection with plants and nature.

Speaker 1:

And I had a really profound experience of the day, for I was um on a walk and there was this robin and, yeah, robins are social creatures in many ways. They're not really that scared of us or they don't appear to be. Um, I'm no robin expert, this is just talking from my experience um, they're very territorial, like they will defend their area etc. But they're also friendly, I find. And this robin just stopped and it just stared. We just had, we just stared at each other for ages and it looked really relaxed and we just had like this moment for each other for ages and it looked really relaxed and we just had like this moment for about 10 minutes where we were just like, um, just looking at each other and kind of being. And for me, when I see robin, I always feel like it's like one of my ancestors and, for whatever reason, they've kind of shape shifted into that creature, kind of shape shift into that creature, and robin seems to do it for me. I, I, whenever I see robin, I always feel that and I sometimes feel like the nature and the animals that we see are like little messages from the universe to let us know we're on the right track and it was a day where I could have done with this particular ancestor.

Speaker 1:

Um, there's been, unfortunately, a lot of death around at the moment and that's what it's like and I understand this. One starts to get a bit older I'm not even particularly that old but then the generation above kind of start to go away and it kind of makes you realize that we should appreciate the frailty of our existence. And this this is a big shout out out to any of you are going through that and just to let you know that I'm sending you lots of love and healing. But on the plus side, I feel like we are forever, in a sense, that we will leave, and again, we all have different views. If I'm saying something and you feel I really don't agree with you, I really don't expect you to, it's all about you having your personal experience of this life and your beliefs, and I think there's there's more, there's the ability to have more than one truth. So but my feeling is that we don't go completely like our body as we know it right now goes, but not not our soul, and and we either go on to another life or we go on to another realm. That bit is.

Speaker 1:

It is kind of very debatable as well around different people and some people think once you're dead, you're dead, etc. But I feel like we always we live on in some way and some capacity and that the universe often presents all these kind of little clues to to let us know that we're on the right track. So if you sometimes see sequences of things or I don't know, like for me I see little star things, like those um things you get on wrapping in really random places, and that's when I've been thinking and asking a question. Other people see feathers, which is quite a common one. It might be something else completely, but I would say, just look over the next year and just see when you've seen signs and they'll be individual to you and your individual path and where you are headed.

Speaker 1:

And life is beautiful but it's also harsh at time and, as I've said before, many people feel particularly triggered at this time of year. As I'm recording this podcast, you might not be hearing it at this time of year, but it is a week till Christmas and a lot of people can start to miss and we kind of put pressures on the expectations of where we should be by now, especially as the loom of a new year is about to be kind of put together and where we kind of thread through what we wish to achieve and do. Listen back to the podcast I did last January where I was saying that we've set these new year's resolutions. But setting all these new year's resolutions without kind of a clear structure is going to be very difficult to achieve, not impossible, very difficult. Focus on one thing and make steps towards that each day.

Speaker 1:

And then sometimes I can feel a bit hard when you try to make step towards things and then things happen like a family event or something unexpected, and it kind of can throw us off, especially if it's something emotional and difficult, where there's someone that you know that you care about is hurting in some way or isn't very well, or there's stuff that needs to be done which has to take priority over you yourself. But I'm learning this through life no one else is going to take priority over you except yourself, and there will always be things that are trying to pull you away. I get that all the time. I have like such a short attention span and I don't know if it's to do with my dyslexic mind, but I can be easily distracted and also part of me thinks that society, because I'm a woman, I'm not paying the woman card, but I think sometimes society thinks that my time is not as valuable as the rest of the time, and I've allowed that in many ways. Um, like my, I've got a really supportive and caring partner who really encourages me, and I have a loving family around me, which is which is a good thing to have.

Speaker 1:

But there's always things that are kind of going to kind of pull you off. And also, like I find, if you're in a stage in your business where it's not really kind of turning over like a profit or things like that, or maybe sometimes it is, or maybe sometimes you're really busy, but it's so easy to kind of just think, well, why bother today? Why bother? And it's it's kind of catching those micro habits where you, you do that and and this is why my show is, this is relevant even if you're in employment and you're trying to achieve something outside of your job or even something within your job, or there's something you're trying to achieve for yourself that's not work related. It's so easy to kind of fall into that trap, and especially when I said, like I said, we go if you're going through difficult times. So I was trying to piece this together because I thought I really would like to help people, having kind of lived and experienced this.

Speaker 1:

And sometimes, when we're trying to, really sometimes you can go through periods where things just do not move and you've tried everything, you've surrendered to the universe, you've put the action in, you've made steps and this thing still may not happen in the timing that you want. So what is the antidote to this? Well, for one, it's celebrating the small wins. It's celebrating the small wins. Each and every one has got our own fate, our own path, and there's free will which we can kind of change. But I also think there's some things that maybe it is part of your path to experience certain things. But equally, we can change things that we do not like, and the way we can do that is by making small wins. So like just thinking, oh, I don't know, maybe you're trying to create a masterpiece and you've tried and no one's taken any notice and you've tried and tried and tried. Well, why don't you try and break that masterpiece down into something? I'm trying to I'm talking a bit kind of wide here because I'm trying to bring in maybe what your masterpiece is. It could be anything, so try and break it down and then just try and go for small wins.

Speaker 1:

And I was listening to a talk by uh, please forgive me, but the wonderful actor who played the wizard the um for this, the second wizard in Harry Potter and he was saying that do things because you love it and because it helps, makes you be, become and grows your soul, and that's all that we can do. Right, we can't. If you've tried everything and things aren't working, but it's something we really love, then do it to become, become yourself or you, just because you never know, the next day a little spark but could come from the universe to kind of change things all around. And I also use the example, I used something. It really said that van gogh kind of never got any recognition in his life when when he was alive. But just think if he hadn't, if he just thought I'm not going to try, then the world would never have got to experience his beautiful paintings for the rest of their life. And we're not. Of course we're not all going to be a van Gogh, but what kind of masterpiece can you make today? And it doesn't have to be like something big, but just something beautiful. But can you do it to become rather than to try and and be something? Of course we want to try and be something, but can you enjoy the process?

Speaker 1:

If you look back at all those great um poets, those romantic poets and stuff and okay, some of them are from aristocratic families, but but they were still a lot of them didn't have very much money and they just lived for their art and they just lived to be and that was their kind of sole intention and through that again they left beautiful poetry for generations to read and to share and remember. Beauty is in the eye of the perceiver. So one books, one person may love and another person may hate, and there are so many books that are brilliant that haven't been published. There's so many books that are brilliant that have been published. There's so many pieces of art that people have done that are unknown, that never got famous, and then there's so many pieces of art that were brilliant and people did get famous.

Speaker 1:

So it's not necessarily a level of your talent, but it's a lot of things your self-belief, but also fate, free will, and so many things, and so many things. So if there's things that we don't have control over, I suggest to you, dear listener, do it, to feel, to become, to allow yourself to be. And if you don't know what to do, I really highly recommend it. The book called the Writer's Way by Julia Cameron I think I've said the same name, right, but it's not all about writing, because not everyone's a writer but we are at the same time but it helps to kind of build that spark. It's a really spiritual book that helps to build that spark on your spiritual path. So check it out. So thank you, you for listening.

Speaker 1:

And here is today's meditation. Top tips for the meditation is either sit nice and cross-legged on the floor with a nice straight back, always nice to sit on a block or a cushion? Well, that's not available for you. You sit in a chair with the back nice and straight. The important thing is you're not slouching, and if you're doing something that requires a little concentration, all you need to do is just pause this and you can reconvene the meditation at a time that is good for you.

Speaker 1:

If you're doing the meditation, let's begin. In times where we feel helpless, where we may not be able to help people who are sick or going through things, we can send them some energetic love and support, and that we can ascend in an abundance. So, as always, you're going to sit with a nice tall spine, if that is possible for you, and you can even sit. If you're used to sitting on the floor and you've got the strength to do that, by all means do so. If not, you can sit on a straight back chair and then just close the eyes, take some calm, deep inhalations, calm, deep exhalations, and this meditation let's begin.

Speaker 1:

So, using your imagination, you are now in this magical cave. What is so beautiful and spectacular about this cave is that it is filled with beautiful crystals and beautiful jewels, but the ground is like an earthy kind of red, richy, earthy concoction, and it is so grounding, it's like iron kind of that groundy kind of feel to it and you are sitting here calmly and it's creating this kind of like circly labyrinth shape in your imagination. And as you sit there on the earth, you kind of feel the heartbeat, feel it through your feet, echoing right through your entire being. And the rhythm may be different for everyone, that's fine. You will find the rhythm that's right for you. And as you sit there, you breathe and you bring in some calming, peaceful energy.

Speaker 1:

So you feel that energy come into your body via the prana, the life force of oxygen, bringing rich oxygen, rich blood to the whole of your body, coming into your body through the breath and into your anahata chakra, which is the heart center. So you can place one hand in the center of your chest, slightly towards the left, and the other hand on your navel and you can begin to breathe and you connect the energy of this cave ground, which could symbolize mother earth, and the energy of the cave ceiling, which could symbolize father sky, and you're bringing that energy into your being. And even if this is a little bit off the wall for you, stick with me. So you're feeling this energy coming into the body. You're feeling the breath, this life force, so you kind of start to illuminate with this life force of energy. And then in your imagination, there's someone sitting with their back to you, in front of you, and that can be the loved one, the person, or even a place, a country where you wish to send healing. This will be personal to you. Whoever pops into your mind as you place your hand on their shoulder.

Speaker 1:

Imagine that from your heart center, you are sending them energy of love, support and healing and you take some breaths and as you breathe, as you breathe that energy of healing into that other person, someone has placed their hand on your shoulder and they are sending you healing, all the healing that you need. So as you give healing, you are receiving healing. And the way that everyone's sitting in this kind of maze of a circle, there's not one person that isn't giving and receiving. So then the balance of the universe is in perfect balance of this giving and also the strength to deal with when unpositive emotions come their way, because that is a natural part of life as well. So you're giving them that healing, that strength, through your breath. As you send it, beam it out into the universe, out into that person and, in turn, someone is beaming it into your being and we are so much more connected connected than we believe.

Speaker 1:

So, instead of sending fear to other people, can you send joy, love, elevation, strength and healing and, in turn, allow yourself to receive, as someone sends it to you.

Speaker 1:

So take a nice deep inhalation, a nice deep exhalation and without speaking to them well, rob, without them turning around, and then without the person in front of you turning around or you turning around, just say thank you and then send that thank you to the person in front and then feel that energy go back to the person behind you. So, again, everyone's saying thank you, giving and receiving equally. And then suddenly you find yourself on your feet, the cave is now empty, and then you slowly come up the stairs out of the cave back into your everyday life, into your everyday world, knowing by spending a few moments each day you can send healing and, in turn, receive healing and we could do this on a global scale sending joy, love and happiness. So slowly come back into the moment, come back into the room and go about your day, evening, whatever time it is. You're listening to this with that magnificent energy that you gave and received in balance. Thank you, dear listener. Thank you so much.
