Cleansing Your Emotional Lens: A Path to Genuine Manifestation Part 1

The Gentle Yoga Warrior Season 18 Episode 1

Send us a text

The concept of manifestation has become so commercialised that many of us have grown skeptical of vision boards and their promises. As the Gentle Yoga Warrior, I've experienced this jadedness myself until a dear friend reminded me of their true potential when approached with authenticity and purpose.

True manifestation isn't about luxury cars or designer clothes—it's about creating a visual representation of how you want to feel and the life you want to create daily. This episode explores how shifting focus from material desires to emotional and spiritual needs gives vision boards genuine substance and transformative power.

April brings particularly challenging energy, with negative mirroring between people and the world sometimes leading us down hopeless rabbit holes. During such times, our manifestation practice becomes even more crucial. By examining our emotions—catching them before they sweep us away—we can question whether our reactions reflect reality or learned behaviors. This emotional awareness helps "clean our lens," allowing us to see more clearly what we truly want to manifest. The episode concludes with a guided meditation to help you begin creating your own heart-centered vision board, focusing on what will genuinely help you grow while lovingly accepting yourself as you are.

Ready to transform your approach to manifestation? Listen now, and join us next week as we continue building our vision boards with practical exercises to bring your deepest desires into reality.

Speaker 1:

I'm your host, the Gentle Yoga Warrior, and this is Awakened Conscious Conversations podcast, and today's episode was actually inspired by a dear friend of mine who has been so helpful in unofficially mentoring me on some aspects of my life, and her inspiration about a vision board and I'd kind of forgotten about vision boards because I've become a bit kind of jaded about them um, they're so kind of thrown around in the self-help world and also, um, it became a trendy to say that if you couldn't manifest things, then there was something wrong with you. Basically, you weren't working hard enough, and I know that's not always the case. In fact, generally I don't think it is. I feel that some things are fate and we can't change, but there are some things we can change, but it's actually knowing the why which makes the biggest difference, I think. And so my manifestation board isn't full of, like, expensive cars or clothes or all those kind of things. It's more to do with kind of how I want to feel and the kind of life I want to create daily, rather than thinking, oh, I need to have it like this or I need to have this, and I feel that's what's given it real substance, and there are some really great manifestation coaches out there and I always find great inspiration personally from people who have managed to kind of change their life around when they've come from nothing.

Speaker 1:

Not to say and please don't think by any means, if you've come from a good background, that there's no way that you can help people. You definitely can and in many ways, if you've come from a good background, that there's no way that you can help people. You definitely can and in many ways, if you've come from an abundant background, you know what abundance um is like. So many ways you can help teach people not to know what that is. I I'm just thinking that sometimes it's hard for people who haven't have come from nothing to to to know what it feels like to have things. It kind of can be like a block. But I think the most important thing in all of this this is all going to solve together as the episode goes by, but the most important thing is to accept yourself completely and utterly, as you are right, this moment, also being open to things changing, to things changing manifestation, and you know like it's. It can be a tricky process, but my friend broke it down so elegantly that I felt the need to kind of listen to her words and I literally spent about half a day, maybe a bit longer, and um, I'm not one for being great at drawing and things like that, so I did mine, like um, I used to. You've used Canva, which is a program um that you can use, or there's other programs out there, but I've just put together every aspect of my life and um with manifestation in of what I needed, but not just from a material thing, from, like an emotional point of view, a spiritual point of view, from a point of view of support, etc. And I made this. I made I actually ended up doing like four, five a five sheets and I put it all together and it looks really beautiful. I'm very proud of it and it helped me a great deal.

Speaker 1:

And this time of year we are navigating very choppy waters. There's something about April. It's quite. It's quite a young fire sign and for whatever reason, astrology I'm not an astrologist, but I know there's a lot going on with kind of um negative mirroring at the moment between people and the world, and it can, we can kind of sometimes go down that that rabbit hole of thinking, oh, like, what's kind of, what's the point? And then, and why bother trying any further. But I listen, I mean, I say to you it is worth trying. Um, my friend, I won't share details because it's personal to them, but I know that this process worked for them in the past. So that's why I went about and did it, and I can feel like it's a subtle shift and a kind of thing.

Speaker 1:

And and people say, oh, do you keep it in front of you or do you like, um, do you have to? Do you bury the, the manifestation boards that you do? Do you put them somewhere? For me, I like want to leave it out for a while and then I'll put them away, and I think it's something I'm going to do every year. I kind of stopped doing it because I got a bit disheartened when everything didn't come true. But then I remember one year I wanted to have this beautiful Christmas and I put together this Christmas board and I had the best Christmas I ever had, and so that is proof to me that they can work. But I think it's knowing like you can't just put like, oh, I want a Rolls Royce on it, without knowing you want a Rolls Royce if that's what you wanted, of course, um, so I focus more on, like the spiritual side, and also what, what, what support I needed and and why and where I going to, and it feels like it's got a lot of truth and beauty in it. So stay tuned.

Speaker 1:

I've been doing this thing where I've been looking at every kind of emotion as much as one possibly can that comes up, and there is occasionally some ones that just come up and they just sweep up and before you know it, one's right in that emotion. But I'm talking about the ones that we can pause and we can look at for a moment. And, um, I have been reading a great book about Carl Jung and um, kind of how he came up with his system and he was the one that came up with collective consciousness, which is the word that's used quite a lot in the New Age literature. Um, as far as I'm aware, and also our own consciousness, and I feel that we shouldn't fear, like um, if we are being negative, because I think that is wrong to get people to fear that. But I do feel that we do have the power. There's some things we just do not have power for, like we can't change change our government, we can't change the fact that salaries just do not seem to have gone up in decades. And yet all our utility bills go up by a considerable amount each year and one can become very disheartened by that, because the more we're kind of feeling disheartened and we don't try and change ourselves, because we feel a bit kind of hopeless. But I would say do not let your wealth make you feel how important you are, because that has got nothing to do with it. It's how you feel inside and how you feel inside as a person, and actually sometimes you can get joy by living a bit more frugally.

Speaker 1:

I kind of had like a tipping point yesterday because I'd had like um, I had a long day at work, I had a nice walk, but I was really, really hungry and um, I'm not supposed to have gluten either and um, I avoid dairy as well. So it was just like I was going to have like a pizza, because I just really felt like I needed some comfort food. But and then sometimes one may need that. But I just actually stepped back and thought actually no, I've still got some homemade vegetable soup in the fridge and um, okay, so maybe a pizza might be more appealing than homemade vegetable soup, but um, I felt so much more better after having the vegetable soup and not kind of wasting the thing. The thing was wasn't the fact it was a pizza reeve and it was just the cost to get it kind of delivered and I thought, gosh, that I could get like three days worth of food, um from the cost of this delivery.

Speaker 1:

And I, and it's just so having the awareness of like not not kind of um, not wasting money, but equally, if you, if you feel like you've had like a hard time, and I think there's nothing wrong with like having a meal with your loved one or maybe by yourself or with family occasionally and having fun in in that way, it's not to say we can't find enjoyment, but I've realized it's finding enjoyment in the little things and by um doing that, I think it helps us manifest. I know that sounds strange you think. Oh well, I want to. I'm trying to manifest kind of more, but it's more of finding ourselves more full and the link back to everything I'm saying is that we become more full when we kind of see things from a purer lens, and that purer lens is by watching our emotions, catching them and asking the self is this really the reality? Is this really really the reality, like, just say, someone said a crossword to us and then maybe we in our mind we come up this whole story of why that was not to say you shouldn't have boundaries and people should respect your boundaries and treat you with love and care and cherish you.

Speaker 1:

That is so important that people cherish you. However you contribute, a person to cherish them is yourself, and you learn to cherish yourself by giving yourself the time to look at emotions that aren't necessarily working um for you. In a sense that it's like a learned behavior that we've decided that's what it's like, that's how it is, and we can just look at those emotions and think, actually, is this actually the reality of what is happening right now, or is this a learned behavior? And by doing that we clean our lens, so then we can then see what we want to manifest a bit more. But I think it's important to work on both at the same time, because we're never going to be a completely clear lens person unless they reach enlightenment, which is a very small percentage of the population.

Speaker 1:

However, we can come become the best possible, brightest version of ourselves, and that is by accepting the aspects of ourself that we don't like and and finding the lessons within those aspects of ourselves that we don't like and going for it, and finding what gives you joy and what you need. So sometimes I think we have to do all these elaborate courses and learn different things and of course, I am so into education and learning about new things but what you already know inside, what and what. What works for you. For me, sitting with nature really works for me. It helps me a lot, meditation helps me a lot, yoga helps me a lot, and um eating better helps me a lot. All these kinds of things connection when I want it, but also enough time to be by myself that also helps me a lot.

Speaker 1:

So there's so many ways in which we can learn to kind of change our being and our way of um being, but also um. I think it's Deepak. Deepak Chopra said I can't remember exactly, but something about us accepting, taking full responsibility of our lives, but also accepting ourselves on the way he put it a bit more eloquently, but it was something along those lines of kind of taking complete responsibility for who we are, accepting ourselves, knowing that everything is as it should be, and I thought that's a really good way to say it. So to me that shows that you're working on yourself, you're accepting yourself, you're changing yourself, but you're not thinking, oh, I'm terrible, I'm wrong, because we're all doing the best we can in the situations that we are in and that's what I really feel.

Speaker 1:

So for today's meditation, top tips for the meditation is either sit nice and cross-legged on the floor with a nice straight back always nice to sit on a block or a cushion, although that's not available for you, you sit in a chair with the back nice and straight. The important thing is you're not slouching and if you're doing something that requires your concentration, all you need to do is just pause this and you can reconvene the meditation at a time that is good for you. If you're doing the meditation, let's begin. You're just going to sit back nice and calmly, take a few calming, deep breaths and imagine you are in a room that has a great big blank canvas and that canvas represents the possibilities of your being. And you're in this imaginary room and this beautiful blank canvas is in front of you and you start to take some calmer, deeper breaths, allowing the spark of possibility to begin to come up within your being, this wonderful spark of possibility as you slowly and elegantly start to see a paint palette by the side of you in this imaginary vision, either side of you in this imaginary vision.

Speaker 1:

But before you pick up the brush, just bring your energy into your heart center.

Speaker 1:

So just imagine that there's this warm, beautiful pink light within the area of your heart center, your energetic heart, and you breathe that love within that heart center and just allowing, allowing, allowing, and ever so gently, now feeling that love within the heart center.

Speaker 1:

Just allow yourself to pick up that imaginary brush and in the center of this blank canvas in front of you, I want you to draw what it is that your heart most desires to help you grow as a better person in this world, at the same time lovingly accepting yourself as you are.

Speaker 1:

It can be anything that is going to help you move forward.

Speaker 1:

And you softly pick up this imaginary paint and whatever color it wants to be for you, you draw either that thing or a symbol or a word that symbolises that thing, and you just draw it in your imagination and then the paint quickly dries and it forms a shape of what that thing was to you and as you take a deep breath, you feel the image of that come right into your heart center as it integrates into your being, as you lovingly and kindly accept yourself as you are, but also the start of this manifestation board, this vision board, and just slowly start to take some calm, deep breaths in and out through your nostrils, gently and calmly.

Speaker 1:

So as you come back into the room, you might want to make a note of what that is. We're going to do some more work towards this on next week's episode, so by all means, just make a note, you can, and put that to one side, and if you didn't have anything come up as yet, don't worry. What you can do is just repeat the meditation until you find what it is. But we'll do some more work on it next week and thank you for listening.
