Hello everybody, I'm your host, the gentle yoga warrior, and we are in the heart of October as I record this, and we're coming into the time of Scorpio. And Scorpio really likes to dig deep into the ground and discover things that others may kind of tread over without discovering. When balanced, Scorpio can be very powerful and can be a seeker of truth but also fairness. However, when out of balance, Scorpio can be quite sinister and stingy and provocative, but not necessary in a way that serves one. So how to get the balance during this Scorpio time is to go with the flow. I really feel it's to go with the flow because it is a change of seasons. It could be coming into spring where you are, but here it's autumn, fall, as they say, in the States. And it's a time where the body is still got lots of things to do because it's a busy, busy time of year. The mind has got a lot of things to do because it's a busy, busy time of the year. But it's a time where we're kind of collecting the rest of the fruit and vegetables that we've grown during the course of the year, and we're kind of harvesting but also starting to prepare for the deep winter or the bright summer, depending where you are, which is coming in a few months. And this Scorpio energy, which it was just a new moon in Scorpio, is all about kind of digging into things and finding the truth. But we can use this to our advantage because it is a powerful time to do that. Um, and the easiest and most simple solution for you, dear listener, is to pick up your journal and write daily, maybe a paragraph or two, about what is your truth and what you wish to discover. Is there something you're struggling with? Is there some way you something you want to do, somewhere you want to go? What is the truth that is blocking you from doing this? And the most easy way to do this is to journal and don't sit there with your pen and think, oh, I don't know what I'm gonna write, because I can do that. That's why I'm sharing this. I like, oh, instead, just take a deep breath, don't think about what you're gonna write to start with, and just let yourself free write. And I always find there's a lot of wisdom from that, and do the free writing for maybe a week, and then you can go back to that writing and look. I get a highlighter, and then I just look at the the bits of wisdom that's within that, and then from that, maybe you can discover how you can dig deep and find what you need to do in this run up to the winter. And it's a lot of time of year where there's a lot of air because we're in the Vata season, which is in the Ayurvedic system, which is made up of air and also ether. So it's a great time for expansive creativity and for you, dear listener, in your busy busy life, to find time to what to do what you you need to do and to discover what you need to do. So it's it's what I'm trying to say is the energy is here, very supportive to be creative because there's a lot of ether about, which is where I feel creativity comes from, but there's air. But if we're kind of running around and not smelling the grass or having time to walk out in nature, we can feel a bit as if we have kind of lost our way. Um we feel like we're blowing away like a kite in the wind. So the antidote to that is to do something really grounding. I personally do yoga, you might go to the gym, you might go to a walk, go for a jog, but something where you're really connecting with the ground, and I also make sure I do walks because then you can kind of get the connection with the earth because the antidote to too much air is earth, so we need to ground ourselves with wholesome food and wholesome habits. So, like reading, I've really got into the habit now before going to bed. I journal instead of watching something. I find it's much better for me, better for my eyes. Especially, there's a couple of days a week where I spend a lot of time on a computer, and I just found it was too much blue light for me. And I know phones can be very enticing, they have so much information at our fingertips, it's hard not to want to kind of use them, right? And of course, everything in moderation, but to kind of really get into this Scorpio energy in this time, and to kind of really dig deep into this time, I strongly strongly suggest that you limit your screen time and just have time for quiet contemplation via journaling, meditation. The other day I was just so tired I didn't actually have the energy to journal, and so I just lay on my bed and I just listened to my breath, and I just took some calming, deep inhalation and exhalations because I had a particularly stressful day, and that was my antidote to kind of steer me out of this particularly stressful day. For you, it might be something else, and of course, if you I know so many people say, but I like to watch things after work to relax. I agree, I do that sometimes as well. I completely understand, but it's like everything in moderation, so maybe watch something, and then for the last half an hour before you go to bed, could you listen to an audiobook instead if you if you're too tired to read, or listen to some music, but kind of calming music because I've I've done that before when I've kind of listened to my my favorite flashback music from the 90s, and then it's kind of made me feel more awake. So calming music before bed journal, do something creative. Maybe if you want to draw, if you're artistic in any way, just anything really that's going to feel really grounding and calm, but you can really get use this energy to get into the depth of who you are and what you want to be, and and also what blocks you have by doing the journaling. So I can't express more journaling, journaling, journaling. And if you if you're not one for writing a pen and paper, there are apps that you can do on the phone. I just think it's nice the contact of holding the pen and paper, and there's no green, sorry, there's no blue light when you do that. So that is an option, and to get you in the mood for this autumnal or spring Scorpio time, we are going to do a meditation. Top tips for the meditation is either sit nice and cross-legged on the floor with a nice straight back, always nice to sit on a block or a cushion, or that's not available for you. You sit in a chair with the back nice and straight. The important thing is you're not slouching. And if you're doing something that requires concentration, all you need to do is just pause this and you can reconvene the meditation at a time that is good for you. If you're doing the meditation, that's vegan, and it's night time, so you've got your eyes closed and you think you're outside, it's night time. And you're on the edge of a lake, and that lake has a beautiful calmness to it, but it's a new moon, so the light is very limited, complete opposite to a full moon. And perhaps you may not be able to see the beautiful trees that surround this lake, or even the stag deer that is in the distance. You can hear an owl as it flies over your head, but your eyesight is limited. But, dear listener, in the depths of this darkness is a gift the gift of just being, and through that being you can dig deep, like the Scorpio sign, and uncover your truth. So I invite you simply to breathe in and out through the nostrils, allowing this beautiful flow, this flow of the breath, and the owl, you can hear it again. Perhaps you can hear the fishes in the water. But other than that, it's quite a calm and barren place, and in your imagination, your biggest heart desire starts to form like a light in front of your heart. Maybe it's to have more peace in your life, more love, more connection. The simplicity is the beauty of it all in so many ways, and you feel this light starting to shine in front of your heart, and in your imagination, you feel it rise above you, and it shines light into the sky. And from this light, just for a moment, if you just allow yourself to be the Scorpio energy shows you what the best course of action is to take in your life. And if it doesn't happen the first time in this meditation, just listen to it again and again. There's no right or wrong, and you just remember what that course of action is as you calmly and slowly take some calming deep breaths in and out through the nostrils as you come back into the moment, come back into the room. And dear listeners, you may want to write down what you saw, and again, you can come back to this again and again, and you can just develop on that in your journal. So, thank you for listening.
