I’m a Good Mother, But Not a Good Wife | Learning to Balance Nurture and Partnership

Mariah Clayton

Being a mom comes naturally to me — making sure my son is fed, cared for, and always thought of first. But recently, a conversation with my husband made me realize that while I’m a great mother, I haven’t always been the most considerate wife. It’s not intentional, but somewhere along the way, I began to give my husband less of the same energy and attention that I freely give our child.
In this week’s episode, I’m opening up about that hard realization, why I think so many women struggle with it, and how I’m learning to grow into my role as a wife. From navigating old mindsets, to understanding biblical marriage, to finding small but meaningful ways to honor my husband, this is an honest conversation about the tension between motherhood and marriage.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re rocking it as a mom but still figuring out what it means to be a wife, this episode is for you.
