What's up everybody? It's RJ Bates III, and today we're diving into one of the most underrated but absolutely critical skills. Every entrepreneur must have the ability to pivot. And, trust me, this isn't just motivational fluff. I'm talking real life boots on the ground, fire drill level chaos that we had to deal with yesterday, just 18 minutes before going live on YouTube. That's right. Streak was on the line. We're talking 569 days straight of releasing a video and we've never missed a Tuesday Live at 2.22 pm Central Until a construction crew decided to go full Mortal Kombat fatality on our internet cable line yesterday.
Speaker 1:So here's what happened it's 2.04 pm, we're prepping for the live stream. I'm getting into that King Closer mindset. The team's checking the cameras, lighting stream set up, everything's ready to go and then boom, our internet cuts out. No internet means there's no possible way to stream live on YouTube. Well, it turns out that a mile down the road, some construction crew took a backhoe and they shredded the fiber cord feeding our entire office. There was no warning, there was no heads up, it was just gone. No upload, no stream, nothing.
Speaker 1:Now listen. In that moment, you've got two options you can panic, you can blame someone, you can make excuses, tell you guys, sorry, no show today, or you can pivot, and pivot fast. And for us, option two was the only option. Why? Because commitments matter, discipline matters and your reputation as a business owner is built not when things are going smooth but when the storm hits. So we found a way to kick it into high gear. I told the team, went to Jordan. I'm like listen, we've got 18 minutes, let's find some never-before-seen footage and get it scheduled right now. So we dove into the archives. We pulled some never before seen footage that we had filmed months ago but we hadn't released it.
Speaker 1:Now, when I say we went into the archives, I mean I'm like Jordan what do we have that no one's ever seen? We got to come up with something and we can't record anything because we don't have the Internet to upload it, so we can't. We couldn't get the footage over to anyone else outside of the office, so it literally had to be footage that existed somewhere on Google Drive or just somewhere that anyone else on the team could access. And the only thing that we could come up with was several months ago. Me and Jordan recorded a VSL. Vsl is basically a video of me trying to sell you guys on Titanium University, and this one was specifically for people that didn't know who I was. It was going to be the VSL for the cold traffic that we run the Titanium University's website. So, realistically, there's no King Closer to it, there's none of that, it's just straight like. I know you guys don't know who the hell I am, but this is the reason why you need to sign up for Titanium University. It was the only footage that we legitimately had that existed, that never be seen.
Speaker 1:So, as I'm talking to Jordan and Nick and Sima and Cassie, we're trying to figure out is this appropriate to put on YouTube? It was never meant to be seen on YouTube, but as we were looking at it it was like, hey, if this was meant to provide enough value and reasoning to cold traffic, people that had never known who we were, to get them to sign up for Titanium University, why not run it on YouTube? And at least then we're still finding a solution and we're sticking to our commitment of putting out footage every single day on YouTube, and especially on Tuesdays at 2.22 pm. This is a commitment that is important to me and our brand. It's what we're about consistent as a tree, not looking at an excuse plus a story, but looking at the reason and offering a solution.
Speaker 1:And so, from that point on, the conversation shifted to yes, we are going to post this. How are we going to be able to do that? Nick and Sim are in Florida. You guys download it. You can upload it. We kept the exact same title and thumbnail. Funny enough, the topic that I was going to be talking about perfectly fit the VSL language and that video that existed yesterday on the live. So I called Nick and Sima in Florida and I walked them through downloading the VSL, uploading it to YouTube. We wrote a quick description for the video. We had it scheduled to premiere literally seconds before it was time to go live.
Speaker 1:Did it go live exactly at 2.22? Yep, did you guys even know that that was happening behind the scenes? Nope, but we knew. We knew the streak was alive and our community, you guys, still received value and that right, there is the power of the pivot.
Speaker 1:See, being an entrepreneur isn't about controlling every variable. That's a fantasy. It's about managing the chaos, responding when things break and staying true to your vision, even when the universe says not today. See, you don't grow a brand or a YouTube channel or a successful wholesaling business like Titanium Investments, by waiting for perfect conditions. It's unrealistic In reality. As entrepreneurs, we should expect that chaos. Grow your brand by doing what needs to be done, even when a fiber cable gets murdered down the road or when your deal explodes at the closing table.
Speaker 1:During these moments, you can either accept the excuse plus a story or you can see the reason and provide a solution. These moments aren't about being lucky. It's because we built a team, a mindset and a culture that can pivot when needed. So here's my question for you Are you building a business that can adapt? Are you prepared for the construction crews, the cancellations, the last minute chaos that will inevitably happen in your business? Because if you're not, you're literally building your business in a glass castle.
Speaker 1:Every entrepreneur I know who's still in the game 10 to 15 years later. They didn't just grind and hustle, they found ways to pivot over and over again. And guess what? The more you do it, the faster you get at it, the more confident you become. And suddenly, 18 minutes is plenty of time to do the impossible is plenty of time to do the impossible. So the next time something goes wrong in your business, expect it, resonate in the moment and solve the problem.
Speaker 1:Understand that this chaos is a problem that someone else is begging to have in their life right now. Get rid of the glass castle of excuses and emotions and build a titanium strong foundation that pivots and offers solutions to find a way, no matter what. If this video resonated with you, smash that like button for me, share it with another entrepreneur or friend who needs to hear this, and drop a comment below at the time that you had to pivot under pressure. And if you're not already subscribed, what the hell's wrong with you? Hit that button because we're here every day, rain or shine, wi-fi or no Wi-Fi. I'm RJ Bates III and I'll see you all next time.
