Show Notes

Ms. Hannah is a Ph.D. student in Psychology at the University of Nottingham. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience and a Master’s degree in Psychological Research Methods. In her research, Hannah uses online behavioral experiments to investigate how our sense of agency develops in adolescence. A sense of agency refers to our awareness of our control over our own actions and the consequences of those actions.

In 2018, Hannah was awarded a 1+3 Ph.D. Studentship from the Economic and Social Research Council to fund her postgraduate studies. In the same year, she was also awarded the Undergraduate Prize by the British Psychology Society and the Highest Graduating Student award from the University of Nottingham.

Hannah is a big advocate for positive mental health, particularly amongst the student population. She currently volunteers as a peer-support facilitator for the Student Minds UK charity. She also runs a peer support group for Ph.D. students within the Faculty of Science at the University of Nottingham. In both roles, she delivers regular peer-support group sessions designed to provide a space for students to discuss their experiences with their peers and gain the skills to cope with low moods.
