Dr Bina Nangia has been a pioneer in the field of Special Education and Dyslexia for over 25 years. She has been instrumental in raising awareness and setting up special education centres at more than 20 schools across India. Through her holistic approaches to teaching and parenting, Dr Nangia has positively impacted the lives of hundreds of students and parents.
Dr Bina grew up in Mumbai, India. Her father was a determined and disciplined man, while her mother was humble and simple. From an early age, she desired to help fellow students understand better in different ways. Having two kids of her own only grew this desire into a passion and then, a purpose.
Dr Nangia holds a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, a Post-Graduate Degree in Education and a PhD specializing in Dyslexia. Dr Nangia currently resides in New Delhi and continues to work with students, teachers and parents through specialist consulting at various schools as well as one-on-one counselling. She believes that every child has a unique way of learning, and wants to reach out to parents with special needs children. She continues to be inspired by her students. She is associated with Hope Ek Asha and does counselling with caregivers of patients with dementia. She takes workshops on parenting skills and various other topics, while counselling and therapy is her passion.
