Anukarniya: The Role Models
"Anukarniya" is a Sanskrit word that means "the exemplary one". It is a small initiative to bring experts of various fields to you for sharing their journey and stories. Stories that are not only about how they were able to reach the career position they are in right now but also about their failures which contributed to their success. Our guests also talk about various scholarships and programs related to their fields, which might be your dream career or field of interest. I want to thank all the listeners and speakers for their support and love in making Anukarniya a big success. So, as you know we are now at our season 2, first episode! The four major goals of this season are –
1. Guidance to the youth to know the path towards their career goal in STEMM
2. To disseminate the knowledge about scholarships of the speaker's field of expertise per episode
3. To discuss the possible ways to face failure because we are taught how to aim for success but not how to deal with failure,
The new addition to this season is discussion about
4. Role of a Mentor and how to find a good mentor and
5.Role of career-breaks and quality time with self.
We have two international organizations supporting this initiative - MENSA (an international organization of high IQ people) and 1MWIS (1 Million Women In STEM). A state gold medallist and trained MD homeopathic physician, Rachita invests her time in treating complex cases that modern medicine can’t cure. A strong believer in the trinity of body, mind and spirit, she firmly believes that the mind is where it all begins – wellness and illness, success and failure.
Her firm Spellbound Inc. is a culmination of her passion for teaching and simplifying complex information. Interviewed in Express Health, an Indian Express daily, Spellbound Inc., has catered to all the top healthcare tech companies of the country and all the leading pharmaceutical MNCs. True to her core beliefs, the firm is women-led and (almost entirely) women-fuelled.
Ex-president of Mensa Mumbai chapter, she is a strong supporter of women empowerment, gender equality, education, women in STEM and eco-conservation. Bookworm and tech-lover, she never misses a chance to hop on to an adventure wagon and travel offbeat destinations. She helps in whatever way she can, living the saying ‘what goes around, comes around’. Her aim in life is to positively touch the lives of as many people as she can.
Tips for time management by Dr. Rachita in her words -
"Here are some rules of time management that i follow and recommend:
1. 7 hrs sleep
2. 3 hrs for all meals, bathing and ablutions, etc
3. This still leaves 14 hours day with us to accomplish everything - personal, social and professional.
4. 9 hrs to professional life/10 hrs studies
5. Still leaves 4-5 hrs for personal goals/family time/hobbies/social life/health n exercise
6. This tells you how much time you have to achieve everything you want. Still people say there is no time. Truth is that they are wasting away time in things like social media or something else without even knowing/wanting to. So keep a tab, and set aside time for everything. Put aside 1 hr time to sit with your family, 1 hr to exercise, 1 hour for your hobbies, 1 hour for your friends and 1 hour me-time.
This has worked for me and can work for others too :)"
