Hey, mama. And welcome back to the channel. I'm Stephanie pool, your friendly doula and lactation consultant here to guide you through all things, pregnancy birth. And breastfeeding today, we're diving into week 11 of your pregnancy. And this week is all about exciting milestones. What's happening with your baby and some essential tips to help you feel amazing. So let's jump in. At 11 weeks, your baby is about the size of a fig, roughly 1.6 inches long and weighing in at a fraction of an ounce. But don't let their tiny size fool you because big things are happening. Your baby's facial bones are developing and tiny tooth buds. Are forming beneath their gums. They're starting to look more and more like that cutie you'll soon meet.. Even though you can't feel it yet. Your baby is practicing their dance, moves, stretching and kicking in your room. And give this over 250,000 neurons. Are forming every minute your baby's brain is growing at an astonishing pace, setting the stage for future learning and development. The skin, well, that's still transparent, but getting thicker and tiny hair follicles are starting to sprout. All right. Let's talk about what you might be feeling at 11 weeks because your body is working overtime to grow this baby. let's talk about your energy. If the exhaustion from early pregnancy is easing up, then trust me. You definitely want to celebrate that many moms noticed a small energy boost as they approach the second trimester. As for those weird cravings. Well, you might feel like suddenly you can't stand your favorite food or you might even find yourself craving pickles and peanut butter. All of that is completely normal. These cravings or aversions often fade later in pregnancy. As for that bump for some moms, a tiny bump starts making an appearance. But don't worry if you're not showing just yet, because every pregnancy is different. If certain smells are making you queasy. You can thank your pregnancy hormones. So one thing you can try is carrying things that have a lemon scent to it, The actual smell of lemon can help with some of that queasiness. So be sure to give it a try. Now. Here's what you can do this week to support your health and your baby's growth. Stay active. Light exercises like swimming or prenatal stretches are fantastic for improving circulation and boosting your mood. Just be sure to listen to your body. Boosts your diet. Your baby's brain development is in overdrive. So focus on foods, rich in omega threes, like salmon walnuts and chia seeds. And don't forget fully rich foods like spinach and avocados to support healthy growth. Now, if you are still struggling to drink enough water, try adding a splash of fresh fruit juice. Or infusing water with cucumber and mint. That should make it a little more enticing. I Get your Zs. Quality sleep is absolutely essential. If you're tossing and turning, try sleeping on your side with a pregnancy pillow for added support. Now here's a fun pregnancy fact. Did you know, by week 11, your baby can open and close their tiny fist. They're also starting to swallow small amounts of amniotic fluid. Which helps to develop their digestive system. It's incredible. How much has happening inside of you already? As you approached the second trimester, get ready for some exciting milestones. More energy, the end of morning sickness for a lot of women, and maybe even hearing your baby's heartbeat at your next doctor's visit. Keep taking things one day at a time you've got this. All right.
