Hi, I'm Stephanie Poole, founder and CEO of Birth Prep Academy. I'm on a mission to help pregnant moms prepare for their first hospital birth. I'm sharing revealing conversations about what it really takes to successfully transition into motherhood. So join me. Here to discover things like what to expect in childbirth, how to prepare for your birth. We'll also talk about breastfeeding and so much more. I'm so grateful to share it all with you right here on Oh Baby, the podcast created for pregnant moms preparing for their first hospital birth. Let's get started. okay. Quick question for you. What's the very first thing that you do when fear hits you outta nowhere? Do you hold your breath? Do you start panicking in your chest? Maybe your whole body just locks up. Well, what if I told you that there's a two minute hack that melts that fear on the spot, and it's not yoga, breathing, it's not meditation, it's not chanting. This is a birth specific reset for your nervous system. Stick with me because in less than 10 minutes you're gonna walk away with the tool that you can use in pregnancy and during labor. That'll literally flip the switch from fear to calm. And once you feel it. You're gonna know, oh, my body already has everything that it needs. Now, before I teach you the hack, I've gotta tell you about one of my clients because she actually tested this in real life, in the middle of labor, and let's just say it changed everything. Her name is Mariah. She was in early labor and her contractions started stacking on top of each other. I mean, just back to back. She was this close to a full panic attack, breathing fast, shaking her brain just screaming, I can't do this. And honestly, this is what happens to so many moms. The fear response kicks in, right? I talked about that in another episode. I'll link it below. But that fear response kicked in for her. Your body, it just goes into fight or flight, and suddenly your cervix isn't opening because you are resisting instead of allowing. So here's what I did. I guided her through this exact two minute reset that I'm about to teach you, and I kid you not. Within minutes, her shoulders dropped. Her breath slowed, her whole energy shifted. She went from fighting the waves to literally flowing with them, and her birth rhythm completely transformed. Okay, so let's talk about this hack. Here's why it works. When fear hits, it's your nervous system flipping into what we call survival mode. Now, that's not bad. It's your body's way of protecting you, actually. But in birth, that survival mode actually stalls labor. So the goal isn't to push through the fear. The goal is to reset your nervous system so your body can stay calm, safe, and open. Here's the two minute hack. Step one, the power exhale. I want you to take a deep breath in through your nose and then let it out slowly through your pursed lip. Like you're blowing out a candle, but stretch it out as long as you can, and that exhale tells your body I'm safe. All right, now step two is to drop your shoulders. As you exhale physically, roll your shoulders down. Fear sits in your shoulders and in your jaw, by the way. So releasing them unlocks that tension that literally affects your pelvic floor. All right, now step three, the anchor touch. I want you to place your hand over your heart or belly, whichever feels grounding for you. Now this part isn't just woo woo, so don't skip over this. I, I need you to kind of tune in and focus,'cause this stuff really works, especially when you start stacking the steps. When you touch your body or other people, right? There are certain things that you can do to help release that oxytocin. Touch releases, oxytocin, your body's calm and connection hormone. The same one that actually drives contractions forward. So that's why this step is so important. Alright, now let's move into step four, the final step, which is to repeat for two minutes. Do this cycle for two minutes. Breathing slowly, shoulders soft, hand anchored. And within two minutes, your body shifts from panic to presence. And here's the wild part. We know from research that it only takes about 90 seconds for an adrenaline surge to pass through your system. So the key here is not to keep feeding it. I want you to try this hack to help you ride out that wave so that you can come out calmer, more centered and ready. and here's what I want you to realize. You are not just calming down. You're actually reintroducing yourself to the woman. Who can do hard things. Let me say that again. That panicked version of you is reintroducing yourself to the woman who can do hard things, because once you feel your body shift like that, fear doesn't get to be the driver anymore. You do, and listen, this isn't yoga breathing. This is specific nervous system. Regulation is straight from my bump to bundle blueprint method, and my clients swear by it Because once you train your nervous system now while you're pregnant, you don't have to remember it in labor. Your body just knows. Okay. So I want you to drop me a comment. Let me know if you're gonna try this hack today. And once you try it, if you find it effective enough to actually add As part of your labor plan, let me know. Now if this two minute ha felt powerful, you are gonna wanna stick around because in the next video, I'm exposing three massive lies about birth that are stealing your confidence without you even realizing it. And trust me, if you believe even one of these lies, it can completely change the way that your labor unfolds. Go ahead and click that video now.
