This podcast is a Bite Sized Podcast focusing on “Weight Loss and Staying Healthy”. The podcast introduces the two main types of fat – Subcutaneous Fat and Visceral Fat (Belly Fat) – where they are found and their health implications. Fat is often demonized however our ability to store fat is a super power helps us to store energy for future use.

 I discuss the role of fat in the body to store energy and how it provides more than twice the amount of energy (calories) per gram compared to carbohydrates or protein. Also discussed is the role played by fat in hormone regulation. Maintaining a healthy level of subcutaneous fatis important for overall health. 

 Also discussed in the podcast is what do we need to do to achieve balance. Good nutrition, regular exercise both cardio and strength training, adequate sleep and correct hydration. Good health is a journey not a destination.
