Someone will always have something to say the moment you try to change your body or your life. We sit down with Isabella, founder of "Dragon Girl Fitness", the all-pink boutique gym in Hong Kong, to talk about what it really takes to build sustainable strength and confidence, especially when you’re starting out and the opinions get loud.
We talk through Isabella’s global background (she’s lived in seven countries), how that shaped her independence, and how she now coaches clients with a truly holistic wellness lens. Training is only one piece. We get into dietary adjustments, sleep improvements, supplements, and why a “total health solution” matters more than a generic workout plan. She also shares what her clients love most right now, including sauna sessions, plus how tools like red light therapy and recovery practices can support both physical performance and mental well-being.
Then we go deeper into mindset: why comparing yourself to social media is a trap, why progress has to be step by step, and why consistency beats intensity. Isabella also opens up about her daily discipline (including intermittent fasting and a structured routine), how fashion motivates her training, and the personal meaning behind her tattoos as a living record of her life journey.
If you want practical motivation, a fresh take on boutique fitness, and a reminder to listen to yourself instead of the crowd, hit play. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs it, and leave a review so more people can find the show.

Starting Change Without The Critics
SPEAKER_01Ignore the other people's comments very important. Ignore the other people's. Let's say put in my gym. As for beginning, I say when you start to do one thing or you make change, all the people around you, they suddenly tell you something. Really? Stop it. Are you crazy? Are you doing this? And then I don't think you need to listen that much. Yeah, I think it's quite important you just keep going. Yeah, seriously. Like, um, because changing is not easy. And people are afraid to get changed, you know? And then so you listen to so many people's um uh the opinions, the idea. Yeah, most important thing is you listen yourself. Do you really want to do it? Yes.

Life Across Seven Countries
SPEAKER_00So good morning, Isabella. How are you today?
SPEAKER_01I'm good, thank you for having me. I'm actually quite excited. Yeah, I can't wait for this podcast for quite long, actually.
SPEAKER_00Same thing for me. I'm really excited. We're here in your studio. Um, and I think people can see from the background it's all pink.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00I really love it. Yeah, absolutely fabulous. And yeah, I'm I'm really excited to do the podcast as well. I'm really interested in you know getting your sort of inside information on health and wellness from your perspective.
SPEAKER_01Thank you.
SPEAKER_00So let's start from the beginning. How did you come to Hong Kong?
SPEAKER_01I actually not from Hong Kong. So my mom is actually like um a Latin. Yeah, but my dad is uh from Hong Kong. Yeah, so I burned in Panama. Yeah, and then uh so let's make it like short. And then so when I was younger, I studied in Hong Kong. Yeah, and then my mom sent me back to the United States to study, and then so after study and then like 20 something, and I got a job, and then I moved back to Hong Kong, and then just like this.
SPEAKER_00Right. So what I got from that is that Hong Kong has been your base, but you've moved away and you've come back.
SPEAKER_01No, I mean now it's my base. Before I lived in seven countries already.
SPEAKER_00You live in seven countries.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So tell tell me more.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so I brought in Panama. Yeah, so my dad is from Hong Kong. Yeah, but um, when I was younger, I studied in Hong Kong. And then my move my mom sent me to United States to study. And then after that, and I got a job. Um, and then actually my first boss um is uh is a Singaporean. Yeah, so uh I moved uh to Asia and then like Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and then and after that, and then I moved to Australia. So, and also I stayed like two years in Qatar as well. So Hong Kong is already like my seven um countries I live now.
SPEAKER_00Right. So basically what I got from that is that you you like to travel, you like to experience new things. And you know, as many as living in seven different countries. And how was that for you? How did it feel to be moving around between seven different countries?
SPEAKER_01I love it, I love it. I actually like I think it's a very good experience for me, in fact. Um because honestly, I think if I'm like 40 something or like uh 50, I don't think I will have that lifestyle. It sounds like for me it will be quite late. So I love it. I love to have those experiences and then because you know moving house is not easy. It's not like travel, you know, travel you bring two luggage. But moving house is like shipping a lot and the entirety of the home and then the stuff is like um, yeah, I quite proud of myself living in so many countries, and I really enjoyed it. Yes.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So what was the biggest thing you learned from that? Well, if you say, you know, the biggest thing for me when I was doing all of that was what was that thing?
SPEAKER_01I think I became very independent. Yeah, this is very important. And then I think it's uh very easy for me to bring up some topic to talk with new people or old people. Yeah, I I quite enjoy this. Yeah, it seems like I can talk with people like different kinds of topics, you know. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00No, no, that's great. So you would classify yourself as a communicator.
SPEAKER_01Yes, an international girl.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely fabulous. So, uh, and that's what we're doing now. We're communicating and recording the podcast that we'll share with people. And, you know, it's clear for me listening to you that that sort of uh communication comes easy for you. Yes. Okay, so in terms now of you know what you do, how do you assist people? What is it you're doing now, and how do you help
Holistic Coaching Beyond The Workout
SPEAKER_00people?
SPEAKER_01I think I got really lucky as I said is I I have so many experience uh because um I used to be a nutritionist and then I worked in a ferrobreak clinic, and then and I uh besides the nutrition, I study functional medicine, which is like using supplement, how to uh use supplements to help those patients and the stuff. And now I opened my gym. I think I can give people like total healthy solution, you know, because I think one point is very important, we have to bring it out because uh since then now today, if you go to the gym, I mean who is going to look after your diet? And then once you have people like maybe AI can uh make you a very comprehensive like diet plan and stuff, so who is going to make you a talent-made uh supplement? What checkup you have to do, and so many things. And luckily, like I already worked like over 10 years, and then so I already like practice so many um this kind of stuff to my patients before. So when my customer they come and then um I will just like talk with them like half an hour or one hour, you know, and then know that it's like, oh okay, what is your plan? You want to do your uh exercise like uh just I want to move a little bit and then it's okay. But if some people they come and say, oh no, actually I want to put it like very serious, and I will just talk with them, okay. So which part are you missing, and then so what we can do, and the stuff. Yes. I I think this is quite different to um yeah, uh for my gym with the other gym, it's quite different.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so what I get from that is that you you you give a very holistic approach. So it's not just come to my gym, you know, you you can train your body, you can, you know, build up the muscle if you want to, you can do whatever you want in terms of stretching. No, you take the other side of that and you say that that you're linked and you've linked this professionally for yourself in terms of wellness, in terms of nutrition.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes, yes.
SPEAKER_00And and for you, it all goes together. Would that be fair?
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes, yes.
SPEAKER_00Super, absolutely super. Yeah. So uh in terms of the gym, and I'm we're sat in the gym now and I'm looking around, you've got all the machines, you've got everything that uh that you would expect in a gym from you know what it is that you do now, how do you feel that you you help people?
SPEAKER_01How do I feel I helped people? I actually all my customers is really like stay with me for really long. I have a very special relationship with them, you know. Um we even go traveling together, you know. Yeah, sometimes now we are even like a little bit wider. We do business together as well, you know. How can I help them? I think um just very like they can, they are really like relying to me and then they tell me everything, you know, their perfect life, and then you know, emotional is very important as well. You know, it's very in uh I I mean mentally is very important for your health as well, you know. If I if you are very reliable, I can tell you everything. It's actually good for them, you know, and then because I they already get used to like I ask them like uh what you eat, and then what's supplement you do, what you sleep, and then what's happening, and then uh what's the argument with your wife, and then what's the things um are you stuck in your work and the stuff? They get used to talk with me a lot, you know. I think I'm just helping them like physical and mentally as well. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so I mean, super point. So what you're saying there is that physical health is important. Nutrition, you said, is important, but then you're also saying that mental health is important. And this again is something, you know, when you have clients that come to your, you know, come to your facility, you help them with this as well.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes. I have the red line machine. Yeah, red line machine uh is now it's very popular around the world. It's like everybody say, oh my god, it's very good for your recovery, for your skin. And actually it's very good for your mental as well. You know, it will charge your uh cell. And then so it's very good uh for recovery. And then also I have the sauna. Yeah, it's uh make you relax. Yeah, it's also very good for your mental as well.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah, so I remember you showed me this when I came the previous time. So you have the red light therapy, yes. And also you have the sauna.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and okay, we don't need to go into it in this podcast, but both of those, for sure, different uh practitioners have spoken about the benefits of those to clients. And you know, for a typical client, when a typical client, if there is ever a typical client, comes to your gym, what what things do they gravitate towards? What things would you say in your gym become the most popular things for for your clients to do?
SPEAKER_01Now is the sauna. The sauna is my latest machine I bought, but everybody's just crazy about sauna. Yeah, recently, you know, and then just like men and women, they're just like, oh my god, I need to go uh uh go to the sauna and the stuff. Yeah, they really like it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah, I listen to podcasts by other sort of health and wellness people, and there's Ron DePatrick who talks about sauna and the benefits of sauna. Even I remember for myself when I was traveling previously in my previous career, I was traveling in Finland.
SPEAKER_01Oh.
SPEAKER_00And and the people I was traveling with, they took me to the sauna. Absolutely great. I mean it's it's very much a Nordic uh thing, the sauna, but also your you've got that facility here uh in the gym.
Client Stories That Shaped The Gym
SPEAKER_00So maybe what would be interesting in terms of uh in terms of your gym, if you could maybe share some of the stories of your clients who've come into the gym. What what do they come in and what are they maybe what they want to try and work on, what they work on, and what were the results. You could just tell you know one or two stories. I think that helps the listener understand what it is you do.
SPEAKER_01I think I'll share three stories. Uh it was quite interesting. The first story actually um is a key point to make me like accept my gym. I'm also owning my fashion, uh fashion brand, just new, you know, my socks brand, the gentleman's socks. So it was very funny. I got a customer, he's a big boss. He has like uh 200 or 300 employees, and then so when his birthday he announced everyone has to buy him one pair of socks. And then he was so peaceful, he called me, he said, Isabella, you're going to make me a sock. I said, make you socks? And then I said, Can you explain me more? And then he was like, I have like 200 or 300 employees. And then, so in my birthday, I told everyone to give me a pair of socks. And then just like nobody can give me what he really wants, you know. And then he finds out this is a good opportunity to make a best brand of the sock, you know. And then so, because I always don't want to disbond my customer, you know. And then whatever they say, I try to think, and then if I can do it, and then how can I do it, and then so I just like, hmm. So I check my Google list, the contact Google list, you know, and I check it's like, okay, it sounds like I do have some friends, they are doing something like uh this stuff and this stuff. So I just like um check with my friend and then so okay, so now I'm going to make socks as a business. What you're going to help me? And then blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And then I make my socks done. And then now become my brand. You know, I'm not going to give the other people. Because I spent over a year, you know, it was very, very interesting. And we are doing nice socks business together. Uh the yeah, the brand is under me and him. You know, he is very, very happy to get the best sock in the world. And then the second story, also very funny, I enlarged my gym, expand my gym here. It's also based to my the other customer. So the other customer is also a big boss. And then he has a biggest jewelry shop for one thing in the world. Yeah. So I don't want to say that, you know, otherwise people didn't know who is him. And then so he followed me like almost one year. As we said, it's like at the beginning, we talk everything, right? So he trusts me so much, and he also wants to help me a lot for my career and the stuff. And then he said, so when I was talking to him, I said, I'm I want to expand my gym. And then, so how do you feel? He said, Good, good, good. I'm so glad to see you, like doing expansion, and then that means you're doing well. So he said, Where do you want to do it? I say, maybe central, saying poon, and the stuff. And he looked at me and said, Are you doing uh business on or I said, Of course I'm doing business. I said, okay, stop. So make it in one joke hand. I say, why? And then and then he said, so first, already have over 100 gyms in uh central and the stuff. It's no point for you to go there. Okay. So second, you do PiFix because I do like PyFix gym section. I am not an open gym. Yeah, I'm not like the other gym like the people they come. Uh it's quite private here. So he said, if you are doing like private gym, just put the area very close to Repose Bay. Yeah, just like the customer like me, we like PyFix surface and stuff, and then we don't like the cloud area and the stuff. So he was the one to say, okay, put it here, what is the location, and very close to the MPR and the stuff. And then he even followed up, you know, and then after like 10 days, and then he said, How is everything going? I said, Did you check any shops? And I said, Yes, I checked some shops and the stuff, and then I report to him, you know. He actually like helped me quite a lot. Yeah, he helped me quite a lot. So it's very close to our relationship. I think it's quite interesting, you know? Yeah. And the third one is like how I know um the other people. So I have a French customer. I help him to lose so like five kilos in a short time. So all his friends are like, oh my God, I can't believe Winston, you're doing exercise so persistent. And then because he every year, his gym is that I want to lose weight, he said that. And then that never happened. Never happened. And then, so when they first see, like, he he really like lost like five kilos, you know, and then it's first obviously. And then so he brought me to a French event, you know, and then um so introduced to uh his friends and then the staff, and then that was the event I met Joe as well, the runner, you know? Yes, yes, yes, and then so I think um I think it's quite interesting. My customer always like when they like me, they want to bring me out to know their friends and the stuff. It's quite interesting.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. So what I get from from your story is really interesting. One, you are always open to start new ventures. Yes, to start new ideas. And if people come in and say, Hmm, I've got an idea and it's like this, what do you think? Then you're very open to do that. Yes. And also, I mean, in the examples that you've shared with the listeners, these are not just you know people that you meet off the street, they're s they're people who are successful in their own right. Oh, yes. And and they come to you because they've come to the gym, then they want to help you to improve the experience both inside the gym and also outside of the gym.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes.
SPEAKER_00So I mean that's absolutely absolutely fabulous. And I think what would be interesting then from the listener's point of view and and also from your point of view, when people do come to the gym, what would you say are the uh key things they get from the gym when they come to your gym? So you've you have many customers come through your gym, and I understand from what you've said, usually they're private clients that come to the gym. What would be, you know, what would be the key things that you would expect for them to get from your gym?
Progress Without Comparison Or Comments
SPEAKER_01I think it's very important. I tell my customer first, don't compare yourself uh with the other like people. It's very, very important, you know, because what you see on the social media, they can do 100 squad and then whatever they can do, they practice for a really long time already. You know, it's nobody can run a full marathon. Yeah, it's very important. And then second, is like when you post your um gym work out on the social media, just try to ignore all the comments. It's very, very important because if someone says is that, oh, you do this is wrong, you do this, this is wrong. No, you're just a beginner. Of course, you do something, even I'm next to you. I teach you to do the proper form. But doesn't mean you can do it like immediately. You you know what I mean? So that's why that's what I tell them, it's like just ignore everyone. You post it because you are like proud of yourself. I stepped the first step already, you know. I started, yeah, but no need to listen to other people what they say. You know, me and you, we know that it's the progressing. Yeah, and then you did well today. Uh you step out and then uh just give yourself more time to improve.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yes, yeah, it's very important.
SPEAKER_01I think.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, what what I get from that is that you know when you're working with a client, sometimes they can fall into the trap of you know, they make a bit of progress and they want to tell everybody about it. And when they do that you for you you feel it's not such a good thing. So you'd rather they you know, they just carry on with what they're doing, work step by step, yes, build up what it is whatever it is they they're building up when they come to you in the gym. And of course, sharing it should be a sharing, not just to sort of get people to say, Yeah, yeah, yeah, they're doing better than me, or you know, this guy is a great guy. They're sharing it because they want to share it. Yes. Would would you agree with that?
SPEAKER_01I agree, I agree, yeah, absolutely. Because uh yeah, it's not easy for a person to start to do workout. It's not easy, you know. Even for me, I did like over 10 years workout by my own. Every time when I start to ching my legs, I just thought, oh my god, you know, I will still have this feeling. So imagine it's a newbie, you know, it's already very good. Yes.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So I mean that's an interesting point for me. So one of the things which I'm a health coach myself, one of the things I always say when people are learning new habits is you have to make what you're doing as easy as possible. Is that something that you agree with?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah. Totally, totally. Yeah, totally.
SPEAKER_00And and the other thing which you you came out with just uh a few moments ago was this concept of uh of a step-by-step.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And then, and I I look around the gym, it's a fabulous gym.
SPEAKER_01Thank you.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I the the people watching can see the background as well. It's it's very well thought out. How do you see yourself moving forward from this? What's your what would be your next step?
SPEAKER_01Well, I honestly, after um I opened a second gym and after I have my fashion brand, so I know that I really love startup things. You know, um, I want to move myself to help people to build their home gym, their their gym. You know what I mean? Because I think honestly, it's not a lot of like unique gym in the world. You travel a lot, I I travel a lot as well, you know. Um most of the gym in just in property, they open for people, just like black, you know, maybe blue, and then the inside the thing is also black. You know what I mean? And then, so that's why I feel like, no, I have to make something I really like. And I believe the other owner, they also have something they like, just like your car. And also people, they just decorate their car, like so, you know, just like so many different things in the car. So why cannot make a gym more interesting, you know? Because gym is like very boring stuff, you know. I mean, I think 10 years, it's like repeat and repeat and repeat, right? And if you make your gym is like uh something you like and then always change the things, and then you just feel like, mm-OK, seems something new to your life. So I really quite enjoy this. As used to I'm very open-minded to try new things. I I love it. So I want to like um put more personal changes here and then have the customer, and then I can, I mean, I still have my gym, but I want to help people to create their gym. You know, I think it's very important you express yourself, uh, your personality uh to your customer. You know, when people they come, oh, they 100% know that, okay, I know that your favorite color is pink, and you love flowers so much, or you love high heels so much, and there is so many of your things, you know. So I want the other gym owners can express their uh interest to their customer. When they go to the gym, they feel the spirit you give to the other people. This is uh my my my future. You know, I planned it already. And then, and second is like I want to build a few more different kinds of business as well. Yeah, yeah. I really enjoy doing start-up and the things. I I really enjoyed it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, I mean, and it I mean it comes through. And it comes through. And okay, I'm looking at your collection of shoes, and it's I mean, it's absolutely absolutely fabulous. And and again, the backdrop that we've got you with the you know, with the pink roses, again, it you know, tells tells me a lot you know about your personality. So in terms of uh the gym, one of the points that you just brought up, which is quite interesting, because I'm sure there will be people who are listening will think, oh, maybe I'd like to go to that gym, you know. Typically, people come to the gym when they're invited by their trainer. Is that how does it work? How do people come into this gym?
SPEAKER_01Um, okay, so because I was a nutritionist, the last two years I didn't do any advers. I didn't do any promotion and the stuff. Um so what I tell them is like uh I open a gym. They just like come to my gym, ching with me. You know, just like very straightforward. Yes. Um yeah, just like this. I didn't do any promotion yet, but I planned to do because now it's quite big the gym, right? Yeah, so uh I will do more, the promotion, uh the advers and the stuff. Yes.
SPEAKER_00Right, so you've got a running business now. What I'm understanding from you, with very little sort of uh publicity in terms of that. So you can certainly even grow your business by by doing that publicity. But the other thing that I was interested in was that you said you have other personal trainers that come into your gym. So, same for them. They would be their invited clients to come into the gym. Is that the way it works?
SPEAKER_01Oh yes, yes, yeah. I have a dancing coach to use this area, and then he already has his own customer. Yeah, so uh, and I also have a boxing coach. He also has his own customer, and then they can book uh my place, and then they can teach here. Yes.
SPEAKER_00Okay. So as well as being uh, let's say a typical gym, then it's also open, and you're open for individuals to bring their clients here to do specific things.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes, yes.
SPEAKER_00Of course, which fit which fit with your idea of you know health and wellness.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, absolutely, absolutely super. So I think from you know from what you've explained, you're giving the you know, you're giving the listeners uh a really good uh understanding of what it is you're doing here, uh how the gym is operating. What would be if you had to give a key message, did you have if you had to give a key message to the people uh looking at this uh podcast and also listening to this podcast, what would be your key message?
Look After Yourself First
SPEAKER_01Well, I think it's very important to look after yourself first. This is very important because um recently I got so many customers, my friends, uh my relatives, they got like cancer. You know, and then so that's why I want to bring it up. Is like when you look after yourself, that means you look after um who you love. Yeah, because when something happens, they are the they they are the ones to look after you. Yeah. In I mean in um Chinese, we say got pengtin ha. It's a very like um, that means you first you need to look after yourself before you do the other things. Yeah, make it short. Yeah, I think it's very important.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, super message. And I think a message which a lot of people uh contend to forget is first of all, you have to look after yourself. And it's only after you look after yourself then you then are capable of looking after others. Because for sure, if somebody is looking after, always looking after others and ignoring their own health, it means that ultimately they're gonna forsake themselves.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes.
SPEAKER_00And then they can't help the person that they're looking after. Great. And I'm I'm really interested in in you and what you do in terms of your fitness.
Two Hours A Day For Health
SPEAKER_00Do do you have any kind of like a morning routine?
SPEAKER_01You mean myself?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01While my morning routine is getting longer and longer in that, uh yes. So I think every day I spend like at least two hours or more for my daily routine, I can say. Maybe it's not a morning routine, but daily routine because I have customers, they come to my gym quite early. So chinging at least one hour, right? Yeah, but besides the chinging, I still do the other things for myself. Like I eat my own food. It's very, very important, I think. It's more important than uh what you're going to change that day. Yeah, so basically I don't go out to eat that much. Yeah, all my friends they know. Second, I finish my last meal before 5 p.m. Sometimes it's like just like today when we do the podcast, I finish my meal at 2 before 2. Yes. And then I do like intermittent fasting almost every day. Yes. And then second, I still do like uh red light uh machine, yeah, 45 to one hour every single day, in fact. Uh and then I still do the EMS machine uh for my core and then for my uh clutching. Yeah, and then so my routine is actually quite long. And besides this, I still like I have a Chinese doctor to look after my body. Every day I will drink the Chinese uh medicine. I boil it. I use the really traditional method, I boil it, and then so after like an hour, and then I would take around like more than 10 different kinds of supplements to look after myself. Uh yes, it's like quite long, as I say. Yes.
SPEAKER_00Very intense. So, I mean, and and I that's fabulous. What would you say if you were to say, in terms of the time you spend on your on your daily routine, how much of your day does that take out?
SPEAKER_01Wow, I mean, you what would you ask again?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So on a typical day, how much of that day do you at least 26 days, at least. Even I go travel, I will do the same. Except I cannot do red lights and then EMS, and then even I travel, I will bring my supplement to go. Yeah, and then I will bring my sport ware, I will bring my swimming suit, and then all my friends, they know that I'm like fur further discipline person. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So, okay, so even let's say it's gonna be very regular on a daily basis, and even when you're traveling, it's gonna be quite regular. But how many hours per day? If you say today is a typical day, how many hours will you spend uh looking after yourself or on your health and wellness?
SPEAKER_01At least two hours.
SPEAKER_00At least two hours.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, at least.
SPEAKER_00And and for yourself, that at least two hours. Uh this is even when the the workload is physique.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes, yes.
SPEAKER_00So this is two hours, and there's no question.
SPEAKER_01No question, no question, no excuse.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_00And the other thing I got from you is that in that two hours, you have a whole width of different things that you can do.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00So what's your favorite thing that you do in terms of your health and wellness? What's your favorite?
SPEAKER_01What's my favorite thing to do? Wow, I like I like dressing up. I like fashion a lot. I really like fashion a lot, you know. Um, yeah, I think for me it's like I change, of course, I want to be more healthier, right? And then, but for me it's like I changed because I really want to dress like different kinds of like um fresh things like jazz and then, you know, uh different things. I love high heels. I like to be freshen. Yeah, I like to be outstanding. I cannot be like that, you know. And then um, so yeah, so this is uh one thing I really like.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so what what I get from that, I'm gonna interpret it, okay? Because uh I I've known you now for for yeah, a few months. From your physique point of view, you have a very good physique. And this I understand from what you're saying, this is something that is super important for you. Because with that super physique, then you can wear the right fashions, yes, wear the right shoes, wear, you know, just do everything, you know, just do everything that uh that's important for you. Okay, and I I need to bring this up because it's you know, if somebody meets you, they're gonna they're gonna recognize it straight away.
Tattoos, Identity, And Being Judged
SPEAKER_00You have a lot of tattoos. What's the story behind that?
SPEAKER_01Wow, I mean, I'm a person's fairly extreme in that. I cannot deny. Um, if I am into one thing, I think I really need to do like all the way, you know. I cannot like honestly, one time I remember I look at myself, I have this tattoo, I have this tattoo, I have this tattoo, and then I feel like, no, it's no good because I cannot do it like this, you know. I cannot like this, one tattoo, this, one tattoo, this one tattoo. I had I need to all, you know, link it up. Yeah, because it's like I think it's weird to have one part tattoo for my own. Yeah, you know. Um, so I'm a person like this. I'm an extreme person. I think I cannot deny, but in a good way, you know. And then um the story is I it's honestly my tattoo is based in my life journey. When I was in the United States, I have some tattoos, it's Mexican tattoo. Yeah, Mexican style tattoo. When I was living in Japan, I have some Japanese tattoo. And then when I become a Christian, I have a lot of Bible things and then a lot of like courses and other things. I think. I think my tattoo is like based uh on my journey, my life journey. And I'm going to make a tattoo uh with my socks name, you know, and then my gym name, you know. I'm quite enjoying it. I think one thing, I know a lot of people may be against tattoo, but for me is I'm so proud to tell people when you get old or when you like passing away and stuff, you cannot bring anything. But for me, I'm different. I'm bringing my life experience to go with me, you know, because even like someone burned my body and then, well, and then they burn my tattoo. You know, so I'm like, yeah, I like them a lot. Yeah, I like them a lot. They are they are one part of me. I don't have any regret of my tattoo, and I cannot because life is supposed with like something you regret it, you know. Yeah, so so I'm happy to bring all of them, you know. Yeah, it's like it's one part of my life. Yeah. And I think it's very good. I really love tattoo because it's painful. Uh it may no, no, it's one, I mean, not I mean, not means that I really crazy about painful, not that means. Life is already like honest, life is interesting, but life is hard and pain, right? And then, so when you're carrying your tattoo, you always remind yourself, and then life is one part of this. Yeah, I love tattoo, yeah, because when I was younger, my life wasn't easy, you know, because I I I'm not like born with a rich family and stuff. I build everything uh uh by myself. But honestly, now uh I build anything for my own. Um yes, I have my gym, I have my brand, I have my career, I have helpers at home, I have so many things, you know, but anything I create by my own. Yeah, so it reminds me, even now my life is easier, yeah, but still remember life is painful. It's very important as well, you know. Yeah, because a lot of people when they get rich or when they get more successful, they just forget anything they go through.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean it's a very profound message. I mean, what I understand from what you've said, you can tell me if I'm right or wrong, is that tattoos are a part of your life. There's pain in getting a tattoo, but that pain actually builds a stronger Isabella afterwards. And it also gives you you know the the tattoos are also to a certain extent telling your story. Because I'm sure you can say, Well, this tattoo, I remember this, I was in this place, this particular person did the tattoo, and that was the story behind that tattoo. And I'm sure, you know, for all the tattoos you have, there are stories behind those tattoos. This concept of it being a part of you and being a part of your life, it's a part of Isabella now. Yeah. If if you are meeting, well, I asked the question. When you are meeting new people, how do people react to your tattoos?
SPEAKER_01Honestly, I have two crazy stories. When I was working in a clinic, um, you know, usually a nurse they will bring a patient to us, and then one nurse, it was supposed the customer is going to see me. But the nurse said she canceled. She said, Isabel, she's not going to see you because she sees you have so many tattoos. And then so she cancelled. Yeah, so I was like, okay. And then the first thing, but of course, it's like a few years ago. Now it's people more accepted this uh this um tattooed culture. And then, well, when it was like 10 years ago, my first job, I told you, my boss is a Singaporean, right? And then so it was a really big clinic, and then my boss really shake, and then he said, okay, so if someone complained about your tattoo, you get fired immediately. You say, okay, and then say, okay, yeah, I want this job. Yes. Um, I think uh immigration is very, very difficult, you know. Immigration is like uh I have to cover everything also. Um and tattoo is like, especially like in Asia, I think, yeah, uh people still accepting, you have so many tattoo, they accept tattoo, but not that many, you know. And then uh so it's very difficult to get a job. Yes. But as I say, it's like um I I I chose to be like this, and then I have to take this. Yes.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01And my customer, is very funny as well. I have a very old customer, she is like 80, 18 years old. She likes me so much. She really likes me because after she saw me, she brings all her family, like her son, her daughter-in-law, and then her grandkid, and then come to see me. She really likes me. And then, and all the family, the healthy, get like much better. And then so she introduced to the other friend, you know, just like religion, you know, you're just like religion. She's like delivered that message. And then when she showed the picture to the other people, oh my gosh, she has so many things. How can I see her? How can I trust her? It's like a few times already for my customer, they try to introduce to the other people, you know? And then uh it was quite interesting. It was quite interesting, in fact. Yeah, but uh, but in the other side, if they believe you, I don't know why, they just anything they believe you, you know? Yes. Uh some people, just like also very extreme. Some people, if they believe, they will tell the other people, you know what, if someone has fully tattoos, she must be a very kind person. Yeah, it's a very extreme. And then, yeah, but it's yeah, it's fun. It's fun. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. No, I I like this, you know, I like your story about uh your your older client. Obviously, for her, no problem at all with the tattoos. And she went on then to introduce all of the family to you. So it's I I guess it's something which is it's for each individual. Some people like, some people don't like. And and really from you know, from well, I'll ask the question. From your point of view, have you ever felt it's held you back in your in your business, in the development of your business?
SPEAKER_01Um I think when I was younger, yes. When I was younger, yes, because I don't know why these 10 years or these five years, people just suddenly accept tattoo a lot, you know. Honestly, when I was first left my first company, I opened my own clinic. And then um, yeah, was I did have some difficulties that moment. Yeah, to let people to trust me and then collab with me. Yes. And then but these few years, it's like good. Yeah. Yeah, I overcome it already.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely fabulous. Absolutely fabulous. Fabulous. So in terms of um and you've spoken about a l a lot of it already. Uh do you have any pastimes, any things that you like to do just for you, which are maybe not a part of your health and wellness, but things that you like to do for yourself. What would what would
Big Dreams And Closing Takeaways
SPEAKER_00that be?
SPEAKER_01It's just something for myself, you mean? Wow, I want to have so many kids. I really want to have so many kids. Um I want to adapt some babies to help uh the people, you know, to give them a home. Very important. And then I also want to have my own baby as well, you know. So that's why this is one thing I really want to work harder for myself. Yeah. Yes. I want to like if I'm stronger and then more successful, and then can bring people have a good future.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, absolutely fabulous. So we're coming towards the end of the podcast now, and I think you know, we could carry on chatting for a long time. And I really appreciate you know all that you've shared uh on the podcast, all that you've shared with the listeners and also the viewers of this podcast. But from for yourself now, how can people get in touch with you? If people say, Oh, I want I want to see what I can do with uh with Isabella, how do they get in touch with you?
SPEAKER_01They can whatsapp me. Yeah, they can whatsapp me, and I I do have a website as well. Yeah. Welcome them to keep uh contact me.
SPEAKER_00Okay, super. So what I'll do, I mean, I've got your WhatsApp, I'll get your website from you, and we can we can put that uh we can put that into the show notes. So just before we finish, what would be your final message to the listeners? What would be your parting message?
SPEAKER_01I think ignore the other people's comments very important. Ignore the other people's. Let's say put in my gym, as for the beginning I say, when you start to do one thing or you make change, all the people around you they suddenly tell you something. Really? Stop it. Are you crazy? Are you doing this? And then I don't think you need to listen that much. Yeah, I think it's quite important you just keep going. Yeah, seriously, like um, because changing is not easy, and people are afraid to get changed, you know, and then so you listen to so many people's um uh the opinions, the idea. Yeah, most important thing is you listen yourself. Do you really want to do it?
SPEAKER_00Yes, so super message. It's really important that you listen to yourself and from people around you. There can often be a lot of noise, but just listen to yourself.
SPEAKER_01Yes, very important.
SPEAKER_00Okay, I've really enjoyed doing the podcast with you. Thanks. Absolutely fabulous.
SPEAKER_01Thank you.
SPEAKER_00You know, um, yeah, I look forward. I think uh for me coming to your gym, maybe I'll organize with you to come to the gym and do a session here. Yeah, yeah, please, please. That would be that would be absolutely fabulous. So once again, Isabella, thank you very much.
