UN’s Sustainable Development Solutions Co-Chair, John Thwaites on timing those tricky and charged conversations
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
We’ve all heard the saying it’s all about timing, which eludes to waiting for the right time in the calendar or season. But what if it’s not about waiting. It’s about getting into the right mindset before you nosedive into those tricky and charged conversations.
That’s what we spoke about with John Thwaites in this week’s Top Five Movement Leading Generous Teams podcast.
John is a Co-Chair of the Leadership Council of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (“SDSN”) launched by the Secretary General of the United Nations to provide expert advice and support to the development and implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
John is a Professorial Fellow, Monash University, Chair of the Monash Sustainable Development Institute, Chair Climateworks Centre and Chair of The McKinnon Institute for political leadership.
John is Chair of Melbourne Water and a Director of FairTrade Australia New Zealand.
In this episode, we discuss:
- How John fuels and engages his leadership across diverse + complex roles
- What “it’s all about timing” really means
- Insights into techniques for resetting + recharging leadership
