Dr. Mason received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Gustavus Adolphus College, her Masters degree in nursing, as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, from the College of St. Catherine, and her doctorate (Ph.D.) in nursing from the University of North Dakota. These degrees have allowed her to work as a licensed school nurse in diverse communities, a nurse educator, a patient education specialist, a nurse researcher, university professor, and public health nurse and reviewer for international journals. At the heart of her work is the philosophy that education is the key to improving lives.

On a personal level, Dr. Deanna Marie Mason is married with two adult children. She continues to play piano, violin, and guitar. Since moving to Spain, she has developed a passion for French cooking. In her free time, you will find her traveling the world with her family to learn about new cultures and trying to foods.
