They are exceptionally smart and have three times as many brain neurons as humans, making them not just the largest land animal, but also the smartest. To the people of Kenya. The elephant is a symbol of power and intelligence. One of their folktales tells them how they came to roam the African continent. A poor man sought advice from a wise man and rejected several of his suggestions about how to become rich, until finally the wise man gave him an ointment, told him to apply the cream to his wife's upper canine teeth. Soon the woman's teeth grew into tusks, and the man removed them and sold them for a great market price. However, the man's wife saw her body grow large and her skin thick, wrinkled and gray. She ran off into the forest and gave birth to several elephant children passing on the intelligence of humans to all of her offspring. And in South Africa, there is a story about how the elephant got its trunk. One day when he was drinking water from the river, a crocodile leapt out of the water and seized his regular size nose and wouldn’t let go! A struggle ensued as the crocodile tried to pull the elephant into the water. The battle lasted for hours. As time passed, the elephant's trunk stretched longer and longer. Finally, the crocodile gave up on what he had hoped would be a massive elephant dinner. First, the elephant was unhappy with its elongated nose, but soon found it to be a huge advantage in reaching high hanging fruit in the trees, as well as drinking water without kneeling down all the time. All the other elephants saw how useful an elongated nose could be. So they all went down to pick a nose stretching fight with the crocodile! And in other parts of the world Chinese legends also depict elephants as strong, wise, good fortune and peaceful invading. The Spirit way is lined with many mystical animals, including elephants, as it leads to the Ming Dynasty tomb. According to an old superstition, some pregnant Chinese women place stones on the back of elephants, believing that this will help them have a male child. For 1000s of years, people in India have captured elephants for transportation, hauling heavy burdens, as war machines, and part of religious festivals. While they are honored like gods adorned in embroidered garments and jewelry, many of these elephants have scars from hooks, prods and shackles used to train an 8,000-pound wild animal to peacefully walk through crowded noisy streets during festivities. There are many other stories to explore across India and Africa, heralding these amazing creatures. So, call on this creature… call on elephant medicine for wisdom, strength, loyalty, stability, security, family, leadership, kindness, peace, luck, and prosperity. “Call IT in With Dar!”
