If you have grouse as your spirit animal, then you are probably introverted, resilient, sometimes shy, and tend to be very cautious sticking to small groups rather than larger crowds. Like the rhythmic drumming of the grouse…. They are big time music lovers. If Grouse is your spirit animal, they are watchful and vigilant. Searching for honesty and justice. You are optimistic and always make the best of challenges sent your way. Grouse medicine has left its mark in many different cultures and their folklore. In Native America the grouse was seen as a righteous warrior, symbolizing both justice and revenge. The Chippewa tribe has a group clan that is the grouse. Some Northwest Coast tribes use grouse as their clan crest, and it can be found carved on totem poles. In most Native American mythology, the grouse is depicted as a character out for revenge and justice. In Nordic cultures, the grouse represents hidden treasures, and is a reminder to respect all of the forest creatures. One Nordic myth depicts the grouse as a troll woman who has turned into a bird. She is often cranky and unpredictable, but her feathers are said to have healing powers. In Scotland, the grouse is depicted as a bird who worries and frets about the future. Stories tell of failing to recognize good fortune when it is right in front of you. There is a much more positive outlook on the grouse in Finnish culture. The bird is seen as a

fantastic teacher with compassion and trustworthiness. One famous Finnish story is of an enchanted grouse and a little locked box when a local man spares the life of a grouse and he cares for it for three years. At the end of those three years, he is rewarded with a castle servant and many riches by the enchanted grouse. Overall, the grouse has many symbolic meanings, enchantment, trustworthiness, teaching, good fortune, healing feathers, righteous warrior, honesty, justice, active parenting, strength, energy, romance and especially music.
