Number eight renewal, embracing change, new beginnings, transformation and rebirth. Ancient Egyptians revered the hawk as a solar symbol, and a messenger of Horus the god of the sky. They also believe that the hawk carried the souls of the deceased into the afterlife. In Celtic mythology, the Hawk was seen as a visionary bird that could bridge the gap between humans and the spirit realm, a messenger of divinity. Native American tribes such as the Lakota, Sioux and Apache, considered the hawk to be a powerful spirit animal that uses its keen eyesight to provide guided guidance, and protection. The Ancient Greeks associated the hawk with the god Apollo, seeing it as a symbol of prophecy, intellect and
