Today's animal is one of the most mysterious creatures among the wild cats of the world. Its name actually means” light.” And having Lynx medicine can illuminate, guide and assist you to discover the underlying truth of all things. Some cultures have labeled the Lynx as the “silent witness”, with sharp night vision, remarkable hearing, and incredible insights. Physically, the Lynx has a tight sleek body, bobtail and tufts of hair on top of each ear, appearing like little antennas to receive messages from the Divine. The paws have retractable claws, with thick fur for stealth and warmth. The lynx is known to be able to jump up to 22 feet, and its jumping skills add an element of air symbolism. One of the most unique aspects of this creature's appearance are the glowing expressive eyes that give the Lynx symbolic association of magnetism, seduction, hypnotic, clairvoyance, temptation and persuasion. With its keen senses, stealthy movement, and solitary nature the Lynx represents intuition, wisdom and the power of observation.

Lynx pulled her chariot, and was considered sacred with keen instincts and vision. In the Himalayan regions, the Lynx could blend into snow covered environments, and was called the “ghost cat” respected for its elusiveness and illusions. In ancient Egypt, the cat-faced, Warrior God goddess, was the protectress of the sun god, and appeared as a Lynx! Overall, the Lynx symbolizes alertness, certainty, comprehension, guidance, instinct, patience, skill, style, transformation, good luck and spiritedness. Intuition, wisdom and the power of observation. This elusive feline has deep spiritual meaning across a variety of cultures, and in some is seen as a transformer and a shapeshifter or in others it was believed to be responsible for the stars. There is a constellation named Lynx and in Celtic mythology, the Lynx is considered to be a guardian of the underworld, with the keen ability to see through the veil between this world and the next. The Celts also believed that like a cat…the Lynx has nine lives. So it was a symbol of longevity, longevity and health. In the Bible, the Lynx is mentioned in the book Isaiah, where the eyes of God are compared to those of a lynx. It is also known to symbolize prayer and intercession, as well as the all-seeing eyes of God. In the Far Eastern cultures the lynx is a symbol of good luck, and is seen on amulets and talismans and in Feng Shui, this feline is associated with the element of fire. In Japanese culture, it is seen as a guardian of the home, bringing in prosperity and good fortune. In African cultures, the Lynx is associated with strength, speed and status, as well as the symbol of the sun and fire element. They hold that if you kill a lynx, it will bring bad luck to your entire family.
