For these reasons, the muskrat is a powerful animal totem in native culture. According to legend, the muskrat was once a great warrior, who transformed into a fierce giant Beaver, who defended his people from their enemies with great power. Another legend tells the story of the muskrat building the first canoe. Even though muskrats are common in wetlands of North America. Interestingly enough, they are symbols in the Celtic culture, seeing them as a sign of fertility and abundance, using muskrat pelts to decorate their clothing and homes. They also use the muskrat in artwork and jewelry. Seeing it as a guardian spirit. The muskrat is a large rodent in Africa, often associated with the goddess Hathor, a symbol of fertility and abundance, as well as the Egyptian god Set, who is often depicted as having a rodent's head. In some cultures, the muskrat is considered a sign of good luck, and is used in amulets and talismans. In other cultures, it is considered a pest and is hunted for its fur. In Chinese culture, the muskrat is seen as a symbol of hard work and diligence. In African folktales, the muskrat is often outwitting larger, more powerful animals. Muskrats are members of the Rodent family and are closely related to lemmings. They are stocky animals with thick fur, long tails, small ears, and are often found around lakes and ponds. Although it is related to the beaver, it is much smaller, more streamlined, and better suited for swimming. Like the beaver though it can stay submerged for 15 minutes at a time underwater. The muskrat is known for its industriousness and its ability to adapt to changing environments. It is also associated with fertility, abundance and new beginnings. So all on the muskrat medicine to help you through challenges to help you with positive transformation. To help you navigate change and achieve balance. Call onthe muskrat, “Call IT in With Dar!”
