Chipmunk spirit is a symbol that something good it's on its way to you something to make you smile and laugh. Overall, this animal is a sign of exploration, friendship, preparation, adventure, and abundance. Chipmunks are excellent tree climbers and swimmers who live in a variety of habitats, from plains to mountains to forests and even desserts. They like to live alone in holes burrowed, called dens. They are proficient at storing their food and hibernate during cold weather. Just spending some of the winter sleeping in their dance. They eat a variety of foods like birds, eggs, mushrooms, plants, bombs, seeds, nuts, and more. They have several calls to such as a high speed shrill or even a low clicking sound. Perhaps you've heard them chatter. They are they chatter when they give a warning to other animals that a human is around or a predator. Actually, chipmunks have many predators including hawks, owls, eagles, snakes, Domestic cats, raccoons and foxes. Chipmunks’ main role in life is to spread a special fungus, which is critical tree survival within the forest and help spread seeds. Chipmunk’s lifespan is
only about two years in the wild, but some in captivity have lived up to eight years of age. A chipmunk's strongest sense is probably the sense of smell. And it's an extreme curiosity. An interesting fact about the chipmunk is that they need about 15 hours of sleep per day. And that North America hosts the greatest number. Chipmunks hibernate in the winter climate, but not continuously. They are considered a type of squirrel and have lots of predators, as I previously mentioned, but they also have a lot of food sources for themselves. Their memory is evident in studies of whether they're able to navigate a maze and they can recognize people who have become a trusted source of food. Although they are not normally friendly, and they wouldn't make good pets because of their desire to stay hidden all the time. Because of their tiny size, they are almost afraid of everything. And with good reason because of all the predators they have. The chipmunk is one of several North American animals who are known in Native American mythology. Its name or its origin was with Native Americans. And it isn't really clearly documented exactly what that means, but they're believed to be the meaning of CIT, Monk, C H, I T, and the meaning being squirrel, ground squirrel. In any case, the chipmunk is not a common character in Native American folklore. But when it does appear, its most notable trait is to chatter or to talk too much, scaring away the hunter's prey, or talking without thinking first. One rather consistent tale is about the chipmunk and the story of how it got its stripes when he was teasing a powerful bear, and the Bear got angry, and swiped his paw along the chipmunks back, leaving three pale scars, but the chipmunk was able to get away. To this day, all chipmunks wear those scars as a reminder of what happens when one animal makes fun of another. As previously mentioned, Chipmunks are found in North America, but also some parts of Asia. These small rodents look similar to their relative the squirrel, but their tails are less fluffy. And they have that distinctive stripe that I mentioned from folklore. They measure about seven inches from nose to tail so they're smaller than the squirrel, and they have the colors of gray and brown toned for overall they are when you cite a chipmunk, it means that you are a valuable and resourceful part of your community. They also are a reminder to hold what sparks your joy close, so call on the chipmunk to explore your passion. Discover new adventures, create new friendships, and bring more abundance into your life.
