Call IT In with Dar

Animal Guidance Series: Frog Medicine

Darla McCann - Energy Healer ✨ Season 3 Episode 39

This morning while watering my plants, a small frog jumped up on the railing in front of me. He was a beautiful bright green, and about the size of my thumbnail. Right away I thought about the cleansing properties of water and the ancient stories about how frogs sing a song to call on the rain. If you are tired, overloaded, rushed, frustrated, weak, anxious, itchy, weakened or nervous. It is time to take deep cleansing breaths, a long relaxing bath or shower and call in frog medicine to replenish your mind, body and spirit. Overall frog symbolizes rebirth, renewal, cleansing, healing, good fortune, prosperity and luck. They are linked to transformation as they change from tadpoles into a frog. Tadpoles are also associated with fertility and change with a shape similar to sperm. Frogs are also associated with love. The Greek goddess Venus and Roman Aphrodite, were portrayed with frogs representing harmony between lovers. Despite the many positive associations of the frog across cultures, there are also a few examples of a being a negative omen. In ancient Egypt, and in the Bible, frogs were depicted as a plague, killing people's homes, food and belongings. The Egyptian goddess Heket was often drawn with a frog head, and was associated with the later stages of pregnancy. Women sometimes wore amulets of her likeness, to bring an easier childbirth.

Because frogs come out at night, and are somewhat mysterious. They have also been associated with witchcraft and curses. I'm sure you've heard stories of a prince turned into a frog, or adding a frog to a witch's brew. Even though frogs represent transformation, love and magic…do not kiss one, because they are known to carry salmonella poisoning. The most striking feature about frogs is how they can survive in water and on land. So frogs remind us that change is a natural part of life. Seeing a frog can be a sign that something new or better is on its way into your life. Have you ever seen tadpoles in a small pond? It looks like there are millions of them. Frogs are extremely abundant and fertile, and can symbolize that prosperity is on its way to you. You might have also noticed that frogs aren't afraid of making noise. Our pond is a melody of croaking at night. And it reminds us to speak your truth authentically. As a symbol of rain, water and cleansing the frog represents emotional release and clarity. And Feng Shui the frog is connected to long life and prosperity. Decorative frogs have various imagery on its back, like the yin and yang symbol of balance in Feng Shui. Frogs are well known amphibians They can be found almost anywhere on the planet from the tropical rainforests…to the Himalayan Mountains. There are over 5000 different species. They have protruding eyes located on the top of their heads and can see an 180 degree view of their surroundings for survival. They have a protective eyelid that completely covers the eye for protection to see underwater. Another distinct feature is that they breathe, breathe in, breathe through their skin, allowing oxygen in and carbon dioxide out. Similar to our human lungs. They require a lot of moisture on their skin, so that they don't dry out and suffocate. Compared to the size of their body, their mouths are much larger in proportion than those of other animals and can enlarge as necessary. The tongues are typically long and slender, and can quickly shoot out and grab an inset back into its mouth. Some species have tiny teeth, but others have none. They all have webbed feet and strong legs to help them jump up to 50 times their body length. Frogs come in a variety of colors and patterns so that they can blend into their surroundings like camouflage. Frog shed their skin weakly making room for new growth and making them more resistant to skin pathogens. That skin is removed in one piece and eaten rather than left lying on the ground like a snake. Frogs have excellent night vision and eat at night when their skin can remain cool and moist. I find it especially interesting that frogs are among the most vocal animals on the planet. Their colors are part of their mating rituals. Different species have different sounds so they can attract mates of their own species and size. If a frog is your power animal, your voice humming or singing can arouse deep emotion to soothe you and others. You are very sensitive and compassionate in expressing yourself. Sometimes you appear a little self-absorbed or remote to others. You might be slow at starting projects too. But you do get the job done. Frog spirit enjoys ancient mystery and loves art and magic.
