It is a collective society where they honor their elders and cooperatively bring up the children. Infant gorillas depend on their mother for survival and aren't weaned until they are six years old. Then Dad of course takes over as they share parenting. A gorilla's gene sequence only differs from the human sequence by 1%. They have been seen using tools, laughing, crying, loving and grieving. Unlike humans, they do not hide how they feel. Gorilla spirit is humble, intelligent, nurturing, loyal, compassionate, respectful, keen minded, and has wise leadership as well as a team player.
